Tom Cruise: A 'Crazy White Man'

Tom Cruise wanted to take 'Mission: Impossible 3' to "the next level" -- and the rest of the cast thinks they have done just that.

Philip Seymour Hoffman told the television show 'EXTRA' that the action sequences "are relentlessly amazing" and Ving Rhames calls Cruise a "crazy white man" for doing 99.9 percent of his own stunts.

See for yourself when 'Mission: Impossible 3' hits theaters May 5.

1. I think Tom Cruise has had a wonderful career. However his latest behavior has been out there. You live in a world where people judge you. With him being in the public eye as much as he is, he knows what he is doing. If he doesnt want to represent a company in a manner that he knows is expected of him, then he deserves whats coming.

2. I think Mr Cruise is a gifted performer, what he does on his time is his business, wonder what skeletons that old fool has in his closet? The clown that dissed his 14 year contract? Good Luck and God's Blessings Tom Cruise!!!!!!!!!!Kent MckInstry

3. So Tom jumped on a couch at Oprah's TV show. The whole world heard about it. Tom is a celebrity so, of course he had to do the talk show circuit and jump on a few more couches. Oh, and he kisses his girlfiriend/wife in public! He's an exhibitionist, he's opinionated, and he has the public eye and ear. Since when hasn't that been just what the studios want?

4. Tom Cruise is not my favorite actor, but all this is nonsense. I'm sure everyone has seen a celebrity acting badly. I think what Mel Gibson did is a whole lot worse.

5. It's just another celebrity acting badly. He's a little too opinionated for me. It's not enough for him to have an opinion. He has to jam it down your throat and practcally ridicules people for disagreeing with him.

6. Oh for cryin' out loud...is this the best we can do for a conflict? A person has enthusiasm, positive energy and even (gasp) a hilarious sense of humor...meaning well, passionate about his love and BOOM, the hammer comes down. Perhaps if he were a womanizing jerk who wore skin tight jeans and talked about his past in order to gain the money to pay off his masions? Maybe that would make him "okay and acceptable" in Paramount's eyes? Certainly the discussion about antidepressants and depression was a bad gesture on his part. I in no way condone his comments and actually, resent them...but to have a 14 year partnership terminated because of couch-jumping and kissing is totally ludicrous. I'm sure all involved have some pretty twisted opinions on a lot of controversial subjects--he just made the mistake of airing his in an interview. I wonder what the mind of the man who made the decision to give him the boot harbors? Does he wear his wife's underwear?

7. Tom Cruise was the media darling when he began. He had everyone drooling over him. He could do no wrong. But his latest antics speak of someone who has taken celebrity a little too far. He needs to know that you are only as good as your last movie. And when you belittle people like Matt Lauer, divorce your beautiful wife, show up at premieres with one girl after another, kissing everyone, you begin to not look so good. I think he needs to take a break from acting and get his life together. People are sick of you Tom. You need help.

8. Tom is a gifted and refreshing actor. He gets into character and makes them believable. Recently he has made a fool out of himself with those remarks about Brooke Shields and his antics on Oprah. Since he is on Hollywood's "A" list he naturally gets front page on the media tabloids and he is abusing it. What a shame.

9. I don't like him, I don't watch his movies, and I'm happy Paramount Pictures is not renewing his contract. He should not critized people openly the way he does.
I hope he changes so he can have a normal family life.

10. I think this is one of those cases where the company that helped to create the star, even though some of his behavior may have been a bit disagreeable, I think Paramount wishes to make sure he doesn't get bigger than Paramount.
Tom Cruise may have made what some have seen as mistakes and who doesn't?
I think there's some jealousy here as well as some mixed feelings of fear on the part of Paramount. You who ARE high on the hog, stop being so "saditty and sensitive" and go on making money as you correct the petty differences along the way.
I'm sure with enough effort and the fear and jealousy out of the way, Paramount could've handled this alot better than slapping one of the best hands that has fed them over the years.

11. Tom Criuse was a fair actor in younger days and his boyish charm boosted his appeal with the public. However, peeling back a few layers has revealed a darker side. After reading some background information on the religious beliefs he holds, there is a real question how someone who proslytizes this stuff, doesn't defeats his popularity with movie goers. The media gives a vanilla version of Scientology, but a darker and dangerous history to he practices involved with this belief exists. A good book on the subject is: Messiah or Madman! by Bent Corydon. If you think Tom Cruise is harmless in position as NO. 1 recruiter for Scientology, read this book. I feel sad that his life has blinded him and that he can't see, that he's lost the ability to be objective. He could be a positive for good with the fame and attention his persona receives .

13. Concerning Tom Cruise's ranting about Brooke Shields post-partum depression, I do not agree with those who say he has no experience of living with anyone suffering from the condition. I am sure that when his mother realized what she had produced she fell into a life-long post-partum depression.

14. Guess Paramount pulled the sofa from under him. Looks like 82% of the viewing audience was ready for him to get the hook.

15. YOUR ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR LASR MOVIE? yeah thats really sensitive. How can anyone think like that.
