Driving While Paris Update

Click to watch!Paris Hilton hit a parked car causing damage, then left without leaving a note -- allegedly a violation of California law, and it's all on video.

It happened Thursday after a shopping spree in trendy Robertson Blvd in L.A. with her new BFF, Kim Kardashian . After loading her shopping bags into the trunk of her Range Rover, Hilton says good-bye to Kardashian and starts to back out of the parking spot without her seat belt on -- another violation of law.

Hilton checks her mirrors and looks around, but apparently doesn't notice the parked Honda Civic behind her and slams into the bumper, causing damage to both vehicles.

Hilton then exits the public parking structure without leaving a note with her contact information, which is a misdemeanor under California law, punishable by as much as six months in jail.

This latest incident is just another in a series of Hilton-related car mishaps.

Last November the hotel heiress was involved in yet another hit and run, which TMZ caught on tape, when her then boyfriend Stavros Niarchos crashed Hilton's Bentley into a parked truck and then drove off. Additionally, TMZ has video of eight instances, since May 1, where Hilton drives away in her car sans seat belt. While as far as we can determine, she has never been cited. If she had, the fines would total $1682. BTW, Thursday's incident brings the count (of driving without a seat belt) to nine.

Also this week, Hilton illegally parked in a handicapped spot outside Matt Leinart's apartment.

TMZ checked official parking records in LA and Beverly Hills and found since January, Hilton has been cited 6 times for various violations.

Paris' rep Elliot Mintz tells TMZ that Paris called him about the parking garage incident after it happened Thursday. Mintz says Paris was aware that she backed into another vehicle, and there were obviously no injuries and only minor damage to both vehicles. Mintz says Paris left her contact information with a "parking attendant at the parking garage" to give to the person who is the registered owner of the vehicle that was hit. Mintz says to accuse Paris of leaving the scene without leaving her contact information or a note is inaccurate.

As for the seat belt, Mintz says it's impossible to know whether or not a block away she does put her seat belt on. "When she is exiting a building and there are photographers all over her, that is not her first concern," he says. According to Mintz, as a routine habit, Paris DOES wear a seat belt when she's driving.

As for parking in handicapped parking spaces, Mintz says "It is certainly not Paris' habit to park in places designated as handicapped parking. If she did that anywhere, it was a mistake and wrong and won't happen again."

And what about that infamous Bentley hit and run? Mintz says "For the record, Paris was not driving the vehicle that evening. The person who was driving the vehicle resolved that issue with the owner of the truck. To the best of my knowledge, there was a police inquiry about the incident and it was resolved by the LAPD. To suggest that Paris was involved in a hit and run is completely inaccurate. She wasn't behind the wheel."

121. Paris hilton is everywhere, and its more than a little sickening!
she is a golden example of someone who has had everything in life handed to her, lots of money, absolutely no brains, give it a couple of years and she'll be just another washed out has been.

122. OH PLEASE! Everyone of you would love to be her or you wouldn't spend time on these sites. Paris has made it a point to have her own career and not live off of her parents, she didn't ever have to work and she chooses too that to me takes her off the "spoiled B!@#h" list.

125. we need a special law force unit for celebs (and one that works). obviously the law units we have now have neve worked with giving celebs the justice as compared to regular people. if we have a special unit for celebs, things will start working their way around better. doesn't America go by saying 'everyone should be treated equal'? Then how come we're still not? - Money shouldn't be the answer.

126. It is soo funny about these stars, first off most of them forget where they came from and forget how they got into this business, with their noses up in the air and thinking they are the best,,,well guess what?? they are not the best..the best people out here in this world are the ones that work hard for their money for their families and try to save as mush as they can..it is so lame how most stars seem to care about the united states about how alot of people are poor and they want to help...they talk the talk but they do not walk the walk, with their millions they do not want to help us citizens out...I am wealthy and I give alot to our community...and in fact the stars always get a slap on the wrist...oh i feel so sorry for these famous people...NOT!!!!!!!!!!!! Most of you need to live like regular people and see how hard it is to save and give back to their community.

127. I think that the rich get away with anything, and to other comments out there I don't think that she is pretty, money made her "look" pretty. It's a shame that "we average" people can bump a car .. we get a ticket, show our thongs in public .. get a sitation, we curse at another stranger .. we go to jail. All of this happens every day to the rich and here are paying out the butt with money we hoped to pay our light bills with. I think it's all very wrong. Have A Wonderful Life Rich People!

129. I wonder how many people making these comments try having hundreds of flashed going off in thier eyes and then try driving. Could you funtion as well with all there cameras in your face. What would have happened if she had tried to leave a note? Which one of these news people would have taken the note for her signature! Or any one else? Could she have even gotten to the car to leave a note? It 's easy to say when you are behind the camera but can you remember how nervous you were when you took you drivers test? No one was taking your picture or flashing lights in your eyes. Paris and the other Celebs live with this every day of their lives. How many of you have bumped an other vehicle and never left a note because you were trying to get a picture of someone for a buck. Why don't you get a really job. I am sure the general public could live with out seeing Paris or anyother celeb's face in the news everyday. Who care if some one went shopping on Roberts Bld. The only reason this even made the news is because she made errors in her daily life. How many errors would you have made in the same situation. How that would make an interresting reality show; put the camera man in front of the camera and film him.

Right?

131. Why do you Care about Paris Hilton? Is she a friend of yours? Does she care about you so much that she looks up articles online to see what they are sayng about you? NO. Really! So why don't you spend your time caring about the people in your REAL life than caring about those who don't care about you.. I am sure that Paris Hilton is a good girl. A little ditzy but come on there are plenty of those women in the world. She is beautiful and GOD made her that way for a reason. I am sure she has a kind heart and helps the human race in her own special way. Don't judge a book by the cover of a magizine! Paris is still young and trying to find her way in life. I am sure everyone can understand that.
To sum this up. If we were as involved with the people in our lives than with people who are famous our lives would be filled with more, more of everything!

134. The police are to blame also for letting these celebritiy sc-m buckets get away with these infractions. Do they get paid off with favors???

135. Who made the famous 'famous'? who gave these people what it is to make them so 'intreging' to the public. A pretty face and a 'typcial' hot body shouldn't amount to what the public makes it out to be. What about thoughts and whats left on the inside? Deep down, past the money, fake tans, and gucci there is a pair of lungs who need to breath and stomach which eats and eyes which see and well for some but few a brain that thinks. WE are all human, why can't they be treated like every other person who screws up and has to deal with it. Bring them back down to human levels. Government really has the power to do this. obviously money is perfered over equality. Being famous is over rated.
