Meredith's 'Brokeback' Farewell

Joy Behar and Meredith Vieira Friday's episode of 'The View' was the last hoorah for co-host Meredith Vieira -- she's set to fill Katie Couric's seat on 'Today.' Joy, Barbara, Star and Elisabeth roasted their co-host for their send-off, but Joy gave her something to really remember -- a kiss!

Behar went in for the liplock during her turn at the dais. "I love you so much, you know that," she told Vieira. "I just don't know how to express it. So I thought to myself, 'What would Rosie O'Donnell do?'"

That's when Behar made her move.

Afterwards, Vieira talked backstage about her favorite moments from her last day on 'The View.'

Vieria joins 'Today' in September.

226. Good luck Meredith! I loved watching the view with you on it, but I will also give the gang a try with Rosie. I did however think the send off show was boring and in bad taste.

227. I think that Barbara Walters should reconsider her choice in Rosie O'Donnell to replace Merideth Viera. Merideth was so classy, sophisticated, genuine. Everything that Rosie isn't...and I don't consider Rosie funny.

I fear the show is going to head down hill.

228. Barbara - not a good send off for Meredith - she deserved much better after nine years. Good luck to Meredith at the Today Show - she will shine. Rosie taking her place might be good for the View if you can keep her grounded. Rosie is a great talk show host, but I wonder how she will do sharing the role. Star leaving was a blessing in deguise since they publicly do not get along. Good luck to you all and I look forward to see what September brings us. Keep it classy ladies!

229. I HAD WATCHED YOUR SHOW SINCE THE FIRST DAY:
I was sorry to see Meridith leaving the show - - she is a very good at what she does.- - BUT the worst thing this bunch has done, to my way of thinking was fire Star Jones. She was my favorite of all five "stars". (I am a white lisener/watcher) and - - BELIEVE ME I WILL NOT WATCH ROSIE O. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
AFTER THE WAY SHE TREATED "ONE GUEST STAR" ON HER SHOW ( THE ONE ABOUT GUNS) I LOST ALL RESECT FOR HER. I NEVER WATCHED HER SHOW AGAIN. aND I WONT EVER WATCH THE B---- AGAIN!!!
