One Item Wonders

A-List celebs are usually shopaholics - buying everything in sight. It takes certain control to walk out of a store with only one item in your shopping bag when you have such deep pockets.

Christina Aguilera, Nicole Richie and Kristen Bell have exercised this control recently by only getting that ONE must-have item during their shopping excursions.

Christina Aguilera's stylist held back by only picking up this cute shirt with red-lip button accents at Horn on Robertson Blvd in Los Angeles. Her stylist was shopping for Christina's new music video, so keep your eyes peeled for this fashionable Alessandro Dell'Acqua top in her upcoming video.

Nicole Richie was recently spotted shopping and only picked up one item at the boutique Harmony. Richie went right for the item that caught her eye and didn't bother to use the dressing room - she stood in the store, tried the blouse on over her t-shirt and bought it!

'Veronica Mars' star Kristen Bell saw her must-have item in Lucky Magazine. She pulled a fashion publicist aside at a party and told her, "I have to get my hands on this!" Once she found out who the designer was, she immediately ordered herself one.

16. SO I just happen to be on this sit reading all of your comments. And I do have to say that while I consider myself an animal lover I am also not anti fur- at least in that I don't own any actual furs....but that I also am not involved in anti fur groups or boycotting. As I'm reading I'm noticing that I guess you would call them pro fur...that the pro fur people are the only ones making rational comments and arguments against fur...and even giving sources with which to check their stated facts. I must say that those of you who are anti fur have failed to make a real argument or provide sources for your claims of animal abuse and murderous deaths. For people like me who love animals...and yet are NOT vegetarians....and who don't really own fur but maybe someday will....it would benefit your cause if you made more rational arguments and didn't let your emotions or horror at the death of innocent animals get in the way of making your point. I understand how you feel though....and I just wish you would make a better point....because i found myself agreeing with those that are pro fur...and that made me a little sad.

17. So now we've gone from all animals are "skinned alive" or "anally electrocuted" to some farms skin animals alive and some are electrocuted. At least we've made progress towards reality. Again, only being able to speak for farms in America, the extent that electocution is used on large animals by a small number of farms that do not participate in the AVMA program, it is applied to the head which stops all brain activity faster than you can blink your eyes. Electrocution is used by these few farms because they can not afford the associated costs of lethal injection since it involves drugs. The majority do use lethal injection on large animals,.even when cheaper alternatives are available, because they care!

As far as "skinning alive" an animal, that is even farther removed than the "anal electrocution" propaganda. Try skinning a mink that's alive, you'll be lucky to escape with any part or your hands left intact.

Fur, or anything else, is not about vanity. It's about freedom of choice. The "there's no need" or "it's about vanity" is just an evasion for the shame of preaching and forcing one's morality on others. It's amazing that those who have never been to a farm somehow seem to know everything about what is involved. I suppose that just because somebody says something that fits your agenda you are inclined to believe it without any critical question rather than getting first hand knowledge.

If you think there's no money involved in animal rights, then I suggest you obtain a copy from the IRS filings by PeTA, Fund for Aminals, or the Humane Society of the United States and other groups. Being non-profit, they are tax exempt and must make their financial records public. YOU'RE IN FOR ONE HECK OF A SURPRISE!
