Beyoncé Ambushed by PETA at Nobu

Beyoncé was confronted Thursday night at the swanky restaurant Nobu in New York City by two members of People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The two had won an eBay auction, benefiting VH1's Save the Music Foundation, to dine with the star. Beyoncé had no idea they were PETA members.

TMZ obtained video of the confrontation, shot by PETA, taped inside the restaurant. As they sat at the table, Beyoncé, who has a fashion line with her mother that uses fur, had no idea what was coming. After placing their orders, the PETA members confronted the singer.

The PETA members then pulled out a portable DVD player and began playing a tape of Pamela Anderson's attack on the fur industry, which highlights graphic footage of the process of killing animals for their fur.

Also present at the table -- Beyoncé's mother Tina and her sister Solange.

The PETA members were swiftly escorted out of the restaurant. Beyoncé and her relatives stayed inside.

Calls to Beyoncé's reps were not immediately returned.

31. Beyonce was not "attached"!! The girl WON the dinner on eBay to raise funds for a VH1 charity!! She most certainly did not barge in and disturb the dinner!! Don't you think they would of chucked her out sooner if she had!

Beyonce should not wear fur, plain and simple! if she doesnt like the truth then dont support animal cruelty!
The girl from PETA was VERY polite - i would of been a whole lot ruder!! She needs to wake up to the fact that people are not going to let others support animal abuse! GOOD ON PETA! Another job well done!!!

Carnivores Rule.

33. I am involved in animal rescue. I always felt PETA was more interested in attacking people than actually saving animals. The money it cost to produce the Pam Anderson video could have paid for the care of a lot of homeless animals.

34. This is unbelievable...We need to THANK these brave PETA members for standing up against a very ignorant, very spoiled, and very callous young star. I don't care how many wars are going on, killing animals in horrible and painful ways just to feed one's own vanity is just plain WRONG! Save your pity for Beyonce for having her precious lunch disturbed, and give it to the animals who are starved, strangled, poised, electrocuted, trapped, skinned alive, and so much more. Also, for all the geniuses who think animal rights' people should be fighting for human rights instead: we all have our causes and priorities. This is the equivalent of getting mad at someone for fighting heart disease instead of cancer! They both need to be eradicated: animal sufferng AND human suffering. No need to choose.

35. Do you want to be sitting with your family eating dinner when a person comes up and ridicules you about driving an suv? or eating meat, cheese, fish? lobster? wereing fur? why your children have there eyebrows pierced? being gay? not being gay? your child being in Irag, not being in Irag? The point is, there are tons of things to fight for, everyones right. There is just an appropriate place to say things in an appropriate way. I think this could have been addressed with Beyonce better, and PETA should be ashamed for there actions.

36. You all miss the point. PETA is against the use of animals for all purposes, they always have. Even and esp. as your PETS!. They try to dumb down America with their spin. Wake up, make your own choices. Ignore these loons. DON'T BE A SHEEPPEOPLE!

37. These people can't control what someone wears. If she wants to wear fur, she should continue to wear them. There are far more greater issues to worry about than people killing rodents and other animals for clothing.

38. Why don't we stop the problems of human poverty, starvation, poor medical care, war and escalatong violence, AND THEN worry about fur. Oh, and stop ther. Please don't be so arrogant and presumtuous to think that you can decide for me what I may and may not eat.

39. Anyone who chooses to wear fur or eat meat -- knowing how horribly, savagely these animals are treated and the most gruesome process of obtaining animal products -- needs to examine his or her soul.

It is possible to care about BOTH humans and animals. It doesn't have to be a choice. Truly compassionate people care about both.

One has to ask when intentional cruelty to another being is a NECESSITY. Is it ever? Fur-makers, factory farmers, all think it is a necessity. But how can suffering be necessary, just so you can stuff an unhealthy burger into your mouth or drape yourself in a fur coat?

Human well-being should take precedent over an animals', yes. But only in a life or death situation. If I see a starving African child, and all I can feed him is a chicken, then of course, I will feed him a chicken. But if I see a perfectly healthy, normal person, spending money on a big burger or on a fur coat, it's very clear to me that this is UNNECESSARY CRUELTY.

Choose not to participate in unncessary cruelty.

40. The holier than thou group is at it again.

I myself don't wear fur, but as long as it's not illegal to design, produce, market, sell and wear fur - then the issue should not be with the person that does but with the government that allows it.

PETA took advantage of an auction. It was a lunch, not a lecture that they bid on. They did not win a bid to harass the woman, regardless of what they felt about her.
I'm more interested now it the skeletons in the PETA members closets. I'm sure that they do a few things that I don't approve of or agree with - but that would not give me the right to harass them.

41. Beyounce got where she is by acting nasty on stage. I cannot watch her because it makes me sick. She started out being half necked and hunching like a whore in heat. Now that she has gotten attention she acts like she dosen't like it when people make fun of her. She has no talent. The fur thing is just like something she would do.

43. we,ll lets see here Beyonce wears furs I wear shoes most of ours cars have leather seats it all comes from animals. Now some animals are raised just for there fur and if let breed on there own would over populate and become pest .now I dont belive in killing animals that are endangered but animals that are raised for their skins should be allowed we have much bigger problems in this world . LETS LOOK IN PETA CLOSET .If we find one pair of leather shoes, purse wallet ,coat ,chair etc then thay should focus endangered animals only because a skin is a skin no matter where it comes from

44. I am going to make sure that I eat steak and chicken, for lunch and perhaps have some veal for dinner. I will begin my online research/shopping today for a luxiurious fur coat. You know those NY winters are often brutal.

I hate PETA and their offensive tactis and thier illogical assertions.

45. I have one question, why was this incident added in with celebrity lawbreakers? How and when did Beyonce break the law? That is the biggest issue here. Celebs always get interrupted when out in public, nothing new here. Talent of the mother or not is not an issue for me. What is the issue is AOL using this to add place Beyonce in with a group of real law breakers like Paris Hilton who is too obnoxious for words.
