Beyoncé Ambushed by PETA at Nobu

Beyoncé was confronted Thursday night at the swanky restaurant Nobu in New York City by two members of People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The two had won an eBay auction, benefiting VH1's Save the Music Foundation, to dine with the star. Beyoncé had no idea they were PETA members.

TMZ obtained video of the confrontation, shot by PETA, taped inside the restaurant. As they sat at the table, Beyoncé, who has a fashion line with her mother that uses fur, had no idea what was coming. After placing their orders, the PETA members confronted the singer.

The PETA members then pulled out a portable DVD player and began playing a tape of Pamela Anderson's attack on the fur industry, which highlights graphic footage of the process of killing animals for their fur.

Also present at the table -- Beyoncé's mother Tina and her sister Solange.

The PETA members were swiftly escorted out of the restaurant. Beyoncé and her relatives stayed inside.

Calls to Beyoncé's reps were not immediately returned.

49. What a bunch of sick terrorists. PETA, needs to pull their heads out of their ass and as a group, should be recognized as a terrorist organization for their part in blowing up medical research facilities researching diseases such as cancer and others.
Reading anything on PETA makes me sick.

50. PETA's a farce... Penn & Teller usually do pretty plain jobs of documenting things in their Bullshit series - but the one on PETA was fairly robust:

51. to those who don't see the difference between eating food to survive and slaughtering animals to adorn oneself, what can i say? animals are also tortured to test makeup...MAKEUP! because people suffering in other countries and soldiers losing their lives may be worse of an affront to human decency, doesn't mean that torturing animals is not horrific..cruelty of any kind is reprehensible...

52. We live in America we have freedom of choice. We do not have to like or support what others like or believe but we should respect it. I am a Beyonce fan whether she wears furs or not. Now that Black people can afford furs we have all these PETA laws. Give me a break with the nonsense.

53. Look at the celebrities who are wearing fur. Beyonce. J-Lo. They are ghetto trash! Why would anyone in their right mind want to look like those two??

54. I think PETA has a lot of nerve! Especially after about approximately 6 months ago when two PETA members were caught red handed dumping baby kittens into a dumpster after just picking them up from a vet's office swearing they would find them good homes! I wish I could remember what state this happened in, however I swear this actually happened. The two were arrested, handcuffed and taken to jail after someone had watched them for a while and called the police to tip the police off where and when they usually dumped these poor dead animals. The best part of the article was when the news approached one of the big wigs in PETA and that person said they promised to help take care of the over population of these animals, however, they didn't say how!! Talk about do as I say, not as I do!

55. Why don't you people get a freakin' life. I wonder what animals do without humans "saving" them. Hmmm, survive m aybe. Focus your attention on things that truly matter, like world hunger, the aids epidemic, the war in Iraq, rising interest rates, etc (and the list goes on and on and on).
GET A CLUE!!!!!!!!

56. This is stupid. PETA is always embarassing themselves.

This has absolutely nothing to do with talent, yet I see that some of you brought that into the discussion - Don't you realize that by doing that, you discredit yourself because you are unable to stick to the issues? It makes it look like your position on the issue is not strong enough to stand on its own, and therefore you have to bring up something - anything to attack someone. Like children...

Which is what a lot of the PETA people act like - children. Mature adults do not use the tactics that PETA does. Adults at least try to discuss things in a civilized manner, under the proper circumstances, if we choose. Name calling and temper tantrums are childlike behaviors.

57. PETA is a terrorist organization/cult. The horrific lengths they go through to terrorize people is unbelievable. This is completely unacceptable. PETA is hypocritical. Why should people who eat meat be less of a target then folks who wear fur. MOST people can live without meat. So, why don't they waige a campain against everybody. People who eat meat kill FAR MORE ANIMALS than folks who wear fur!!!!

Something needs to be done about PETA. Not every celeberity and non-celebrity will tolerate there stalking, threats, libel, and violence. Unfortuntaely, an aggressive campaign needs to be waiged against them as well. Yes, I'll be buying a fur later this year. Thanks PETA - I've just been inspired. I'll be sure to mail you the receipt. A$$holes!!@@

58. Peta was very much out of line! They had no right to invade somone's space just because their way of thinking is different from hers. I also share some of Peta views but, their is still a line that must not be cross to get your point of view out, and Peta cross that line. People can buy anything they want within the laws.Peta fight is with the fur makers and the courts. not the persons who's buying because as long as the makers and the courts gives its okay you will have buyers.

59. I really am against the wearing of real fur. Killing for food and then killing just to wear the skin are two different things. Plus real fur smells bad when it gets wet and is harder to keep. I have no problem if a person wears fur because the animals was killed for food and they are just using the whole animal like people do with cows and deer. I'm quite sure though that people don't eat Chinchilla's or mink meat though. After watching the video though would you really want to wear fur after knowing that's all the animal is bred for? It's your option if you like wearing real fur or not. I'm just posting my opinion and saying I am personally against it.

60. Nobody wants to see anything not humanly killed..but the fact it they are,,wether it be a cow ,a chicken..or any other thing on the planet..some people's lives would be mundane if they had no cause to fight for..to each his own..if fur prices were lower..more people would wear them....NEVER in the history of man will people stop wearing fur...sad fact to many..but true..and Peta knows it
