Beyoncé Ambushed by PETA at Nobu

Beyoncé was confronted Thursday night at the swanky restaurant Nobu in New York City by two members of People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The two had won an eBay auction, benefiting VH1's Save the Music Foundation, to dine with the star. Beyoncé had no idea they were PETA members.

TMZ obtained video of the confrontation, shot by PETA, taped inside the restaurant. As they sat at the table, Beyoncé, who has a fashion line with her mother that uses fur, had no idea what was coming. After placing their orders, the PETA members confronted the singer.

The PETA members then pulled out a portable DVD player and began playing a tape of Pamela Anderson's attack on the fur industry, which highlights graphic footage of the process of killing animals for their fur.

Also present at the table -- Beyoncé's mother Tina and her sister Solange.

The PETA members were swiftly escorted out of the restaurant. Beyoncé and her relatives stayed inside.

Calls to Beyoncé's reps were not immediately returned.

61. Yes, the carnivors cardiovasciular system will deteriorate and they will learn too late. Yes, those who choose compassion and mercy, not only are healthier but they are a peace in their inner self.
Have a Great Day :)

64. Beyonce is not spoiled or callous. She's an extremely nice woman and this is coming from someone who met her on her last concert tour. I'm a big fan and Beyonce does a lot for charity and she's not the one who is hurting animals. She's a human being and deserved better than being ambushed by PETA. They were wrong for this. PETA was wrong.

65. This artical made me think. I came to the
concludison that I am on the side of those who love animals. I like the cattle best, then hog, chicken, turkey, and deer. I perfer it to be cooked over hot coals, with butter. Oh yea, well done.

66. Vanity and Fashion in any form or manner is poisonous and leads to a very close minded box of material "prettiness", I agree with these people for discouraging the use of fur, but the approach could definatley of been better. Yet honestly, this is a very individualized attack on Beyonce and her family, and instead of enjoying the meal FIRST, getting a little more casual with the stars , THEN attack them full on hehe

67. PETA is absolutely wrong for this. They should be ashamed of themselves.

68. I am also a member of P.E.T.A. .....that is People Eating Tasty Animals. I have no issues with the fur business. As said by others, there are a lot of other issues in the world that need immediate attention. I believe that as long as human beings are suffering, as long as children and women are being abused, as long as there is war, as long as..yada yada.... raise money to feed the hungy, shelter the homeless, cure the ill, assure seniors can afford their required meds! This is a "NO BRAINER". Quit wasting my time with things that have so little signifigance in the scheme of things!

69. If Beyonce is going to wear fur then that's her
business but she needs to stand by her decision
what I saw sitting at that table was not a
24 year old "iconic performer" as her record label
likes to call her. I saw a scared little girl who had
to have her Mother and little sister speak for her.
Be like J.LO, wear that fur with your head held hight
Beyonce is not the woman she wants everyone
to think she is. She a little girl who was scared as hell at that
dinner table. So sad yet so hilarious!

70. Beyonce is a good person and you shouldn't comment on her being spoiled or callous without actually knowing her which you obviously don't to say things like that. PETA should have gone about this a different way. Beyonce did the right thing by ignoring them.

71. Beyonce had every right to ignore PETA. They shouldnt have pretended to be fans. And to those of you saying that Beyonce is callous...she is kind and generous --- which is evident in all of the charity work that she does --- including a benefit concert in NYC two nights ago.

72. I eat the animals I love, and ware the hides for shoes and coats. I see a lot of "left-wingers" waring of animals. But, most of the "animal lovers" and "vegies" look so pale and sickly. They all need a bag of "White Castles" to get back in the real world.

73. Wow, what an idea, Yes, maybe we should hold demonstrations at the supermarkets! !
Someone has got to get this information to the general public because the government won't change the food pyramid and we all know that eating meat isn't good for us, especially where there are healthier alternatives like Boca foods etc. . The general public lets the world lead them because they don't have the time with work and all.
Meanwhile, the animals are suffering in silence.....

74. I think that PETA was out of line. Now I don't have a problem w/ people following what they believe in whether it's religion, politics, etc. In this country, we all have a freedom of speech and expression (to SOME extent), but what I DO have a problem w/ is those that throw their beliefs in other people's faces. PETA is okay to voice their opinions, but don't throw it in my face as if you're better than me or anyone else. You can't turn everyone to anti-fur or vegetarian just because you have a problem w/ it. IT CAN'T BE DONE.

75. Ambushing Beyonce is similar to ambushing animals when they are caught off guard so i don't believe PETA was right in using these tactics. Better to request a dialogue with her and talk like adults. If people with different views don't learn how to talk to each other, we'll never have peace in this world.
