Taylor Hicks Goes Gangsta

Taylor Hicks is back kickin' it in is home state of Alabama. The recently named "hottest bachelor" winner, is so hot that he got to drop some rhymes with none other than Snoop Dogg this past weekend.

Snoop was in 'Bama performing at Birmingham's City Stage Festival on Saturday. Hicks hopped up on stage to join Snoop on "Gin and Juice." Hicks played a little harmonica and busted a few dance moves as well. Don't worry Snoop, we won't tell anyone back in Compton.

Showing off his street cred, Hicks gave props to the D - O - Double G:

"I have the greatest respect for Snoop Dogg as an artist, but also as a family man, a businessman and an integral part of pop culture," Hicks said in an interview downtown Saturday afternoon. "Rap music has the most advanced lyricism there is. Rap is real; there's nothing pretentious about it. I'm very excited about appearing with Snoop. I think it's great."

17. Taylor is a great performer. He deserved to be on stage with Snoop. It was a great performance and I would love the chance of seeing those two together again.

18. not that it's 100% relevant to the story, but Snoop's from Long Beach, not Compton. Even wisecracks should be based around some kind of fact.

Anyway, glad to see that taylor is doing something (uh, sorta) useful with his idol status, that Ford commercial really had me worried.

21. My take...the fact that Taylor can get up on stage with the likes of the Robert Randolph Band, Snoop Dogg, and the Allman Brothers speaks volumes to his artistry. I thought it was great!!! Oh yeah, and Taylor is not copying Elliott...what a ridiculous post. Taylor would NOT have been there if Snoop didn't want him to be...so give it a rest. Elliott did not win and he has about a 20% chance of making it...which sucks, because I am a huge Elliott fan too!

22. It was a preplanned event that Taylor joined Snoop on stage in Birmingham. I am told it was great and that all parties got along well.
Elliott is great as well. How small minded one must be that your cannot find the good in both artists.

23. Taylor is Unique and always will be. He's an original. What other Idol has gotten this much attention and publicity? He's a performer and will not have to depend on record sales. People of all ages want to see him. Let the critics walk in his size 12 Shoes!!

While I am sure that Taylor and Elliot are indeed friends, unless Taylor has a clone or is adept at teleportation, he was not hanging out with Mr. Tamin in LA on June 19. He put in a appearance at a neighborhood bar in Birmingham to support the local musicians for writer's night. And yes, I saw him there with my very own eyes.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, simply criticize those who can. Get off Taylors back.

Oops! some of you misunderstood my post and I guess it sounded harsh, yes I think Taylor is a great performer, I don't think he is a no talent bum or anything of the sort, I only know what I'm seeing and reading, I don't think he's Hot! sorry, I don't, I don't think he'll be around a long time unless he can record smash hits instead of just touring, not everyone wants to be routed out of their seats and dance, those that do will love him, as for Elliott, well he has an unusual talent, probably do better in recording, even Taylor admits he has not heard a throat like that in years, which was very kind of him to say. Taylor is just not my cup of tea and to compare him to Elvis is a big mistake since those are big shoes to fill, I don't think he sounds anything like Elvis and he certainly doesn't look like him, he would be better off just being himself since everyone loves him the way he is anyway. To each his own, he seems to be selling his single so I guess that makes me wrong about his talent , everyone can't like him ya know. No need to get testy. :-)

27. Well all you haters thinking your so "gangsta" I don't see your faces plastered in people's mahizine as the HOTTEST Bachlor ~ Nor do I see any of you up there doin what Taylor did. TAYLOR is HOT gangsta or not, but I don't expect you to understand .... after all it's a SOUL THING!!
