Celebrity Justice
Willis Sues Paparazzo Over TMZ Story

Bruce Willis outside of Hollywood restaurant KoiBruce Willis has filed suit against a Los Angeles paparazzo, claiming he lied when he told TMZ that the actor assaulted him outside a West Hollywood restaurant.

Anthony Goodrich told TMZ in a videotaped interview on June 14 that Willis smashed his camera into his face, causing a laceration to his nose and a chip to one of his teeth.

In the lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Willis' lawyer, Marty Singer alleges that Goodrich and other "stalker-paparazzi," flashed high powered strobe lights in Willis' face as he was entering the restaurant.  The suit claims that Willis "put his hand up in front of his face to shield his eyes from the blinding flash."  The lawsuit goes on to allege that "Goodrich falsely stated that Willis stiff-armed Goodrich, shoved the photographer and pushed his camera into his face."

The suit claims that Goodrich "is a known stalker-paparazzi who makes a living by staking and confronting celebrities to take their photographs and otherwise attempts to incite some physical contact or outburst by the celebrity..."

The suit claims the TMZ article exposed Willis to "hatred, contempt, ridicule and obloquy..." He is seeking no less than $1 million in damages.

Goodrich filed a police report the day after the incident.  TMZ contacted the LAPD today and we were told that two days after filing the report, Goodrich "was re-interviewed and refused to prosecute so the case was closed."

Look if Bruce didnt want the flaws that come with tthe price of fame then he should have been a used car salesman.

I wouldnt be surprised if Bruces Publicity people havent created this hype for him - Dosent he have a movie coming out that hes promoting? What great timing for a lawsuit and more self indulgent shallow self promotion.

21. To the person that said "there are two sides to every story". It helps ifyou actually make reference to the "other side" which you fail to substantiate. Secondly, if the guy got hurt, it was his own fault. BW is responsible for nothing. If anything, BW can claim simply that any actions he had taken were self-defense and cannot be held responsible.

As for the Goodrich guy, screw him. Celebrities are people and deserve their privacy. Because their chosen profession puts them in the spot light doesn't mean that the general public can further invade their personal space. Anyone who believes otherwise needs to get their heads out of their @$$ and their nose out of the tabloids. Get a life, go lose (a lot of) weight, become something more then the white trash you are and evolve into a productive member of society rather then a drag on it.

Celebs should be allowed to do anything and everything necessary to protect themselves from wastes of human life like this Goodrich guy and the other Papp-smears running around. If a punch in the nose is necessary, then i say throw-down. You can attempt to disagree but in the end we all have a right to live in peace and protect it. Those who choose to violate that sovereignty reap the whirlwind.

`nuff said.

24. If all you rhode scholars don't like the Paparazzi then stop buying the tabloids! Don't watch any entertainment news shows! Stop coming into TMZ.com or X17online.com! If there is any scumbag or low life forms it's you folks who feed the need for these celeb stories. Personally I don't give a rats ass what a star is wearing or where they eat or what their baby looks like but you ....YOU the PUBLIC have to feed your insatiable appetite and thus Supply and Demand come in. Here's a secret ...BOYCOTT all entertainment news and I trust you the Paparazzi will dissapear....OK I gotta go make some donuts

25. It's rediculous what these photographers get away with. Since it's unconstitutional to keep people from taking pictures in public places then maybe a law should be passed making it illegal to PRINT photos without consent. Apparently it's legal to print pictures of celebs because they are considered "news worthy" figures but I don't see how a celeb going to a restaurant is "news worthy". Maybe a new law should say that only photos taken at public EVENTS like the Oscars or something similar should be considered "news worthy". This would solve some major privacy issues. The papparazzi could take pictures at all the events they wanted and have those printed without permission but any picture taken during a private function (dinners, shopping, vacations) could not be sold, bought, or printed without the consent of the subjects.

27. LOL That papparazi is such a moron. He proudly shows off his loose and chipped tooth, hoping for some sympathy, but what I want to know is how do you get a chipped and loose tooth without getting your lips ruined? I saw no damage done to his face whatsoever.

28. Hey Shane "Freedom Of The Press" Gritzinger, so you won't mind if I come by your house with thirty of my friends and take pictures of you and your wife (or hand) later tonight? I mean, hey, it's just Freedom of the Press. Just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should and, more importantly, I'm sure this is not what the writers of the Constitution had in mind when it was added to the Bill of Rights. Do you remember US History? The Constitution is a "living, breathing document" to be altered as the current society necessitates. It's not a stone tablet with edicts from God. People who blindly hide behind constitutional rights can be so ignorant.

30. OK, I am a celebrity and have no qualms about what comes along with the territory. Yes, I go to the store to pick up some necessary things, and yes, I am asked questions upon questions, Autographs and pictures. I have a child too, and what 7 year old has met the President of the United States, all kinds of other celebrities, he takes it in stride. I became famous after I had mt son, and he absolutely adores it. If he feels uncomfortable with going to a certain event, then he isn't forced to go. My family times are my family times, and the rest yes, does come with the territory. My husband is also a famoud musician and it is trying to hear the 'trysts' that he has been on with other women. But guess what. I know he loves me and nothis or nobody can change the bond that we have. Please understand what we do for a living is what we enjoy, and it was a mutual family decision to make it. Please respect our privacy at the times it seems that we are trying to make a family memory. There are times that we do put ourselves 'out there' but please make sure a red carpet is what we are waling on.
