Celebrity Justice
Willis Sues Paparazzo Over TMZ Story

Bruce Willis outside of Hollywood restaurant KoiBruce Willis has filed suit against a Los Angeles paparazzo, claiming he lied when he told TMZ that the actor assaulted him outside a West Hollywood restaurant.

Anthony Goodrich told TMZ in a videotaped interview on June 14 that Willis smashed his camera into his face, causing a laceration to his nose and a chip to one of his teeth.

In the lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Willis' lawyer, Marty Singer alleges that Goodrich and other "stalker-paparazzi," flashed high powered strobe lights in Willis' face as he was entering the restaurant.  The suit claims that Willis "put his hand up in front of his face to shield his eyes from the blinding flash."  The lawsuit goes on to allege that "Goodrich falsely stated that Willis stiff-armed Goodrich, shoved the photographer and pushed his camera into his face."

The suit claims that Goodrich "is a known stalker-paparazzi who makes a living by staking and confronting celebrities to take their photographs and otherwise attempts to incite some physical contact or outburst by the celebrity..."

The suit claims the TMZ article exposed Willis to "hatred, contempt, ridicule and obloquy..." He is seeking no less than $1 million in damages.

Goodrich filed a police report the day after the incident.  TMZ contacted the LAPD today and we were told that two days after filing the report, Goodrich "was re-interviewed and refused to prosecute so the case was closed."

31. If I were a celebrity and these so called photographers were in my face 24/7, I'd be a tad upset as well. And having to deal with that relentless bombardment and rude pushiness literally day in and day out -every single day of my life- I know that I'd want to do a hell of a lot more than just push a camera back into some jerks face. I say "Way to go Bruce!" I not only hope that he wins, but I hope that he financially destroys the idiot who put himself in that position in the first place. File lots of motions Bruce - one at a time - so that he has to keep spending his blood money in order to respond...he'll be broke in no time...but I doubt he'll learn his lesson.

Why is it okay for the paparazzi to completely invade a persons private space and to constantly and literally harrass people without their consent? Because the people they're stalking are celebrities and it's "part of the job"? It's a part of their job to deal with the press and photographers at places like a movie premier, a concert, a big party, or an awards show. And it's also a part of their job to deal with these people when they promote their work, like a press junket, but it's completely unreasonable that they are expected to act gracious and welcoming to some maniac who just so happens to be holding a camera with the latest state of the art telephoto lens attached to it who springs out at them from a nearby bush as they are walking past, or hangs from a tree limb more than a block up the road from their private homes with said telephoto lens perched and ready to fire, or begins a high speed chase down any given street on any given day just to get a picture. That is NOT a part of the job!

I like to read about what's going on in celebrities lives just as much as the next person (that's why I'm reading tmz.com after all) but come on! People need to get a life because...well, really...who cares? Aren't there more important and much bigger things in the world or in people's lives to worry about than seeing the "first photo" of Shiloh, or Brittney Spears with her son, or Lindsay Lohan coming out of another club, or Nicole Ritchie wearing huge sunglasses, or Paris Hilton posing? Apparently not because these photo's are being sold for huge sums of money every day...how unbelievably sad is that??

37. I dont think that the paparazzi has any right to photograph these people unless they are hired to do so. Can you imagine being followed each and every moment of your life simply because you had a career in the entertainment or film industry? Some may say it is the price to pay, however when you lose your sense of personal security and privacy, money cannot fill that void. Go Bruce.

38. To all you uneducated people out there who agrees with bruce, you need to think again,iv seen the whole vidoe(lulop.com)and i can tell you that bruce was in the wrong for putting his hands on the paparazzo. When you decide to become a star you have to expect some of the things that come with it,,and having your picture takin on public property, should be something that they expect. If you cant stand the heat, then get out of the kitchen. And as for Tuna...I got your back.Without the paparazzi the stars would not be who they are today. So before any of you paparazzi bashers gets your panties all in a bunch, you should look at the video and all 15 pictures of the incident, and im sure you would feel different.PEACE AND CHICKEN GREASE.
