Furtado Cuts "Loose"

She's come a long way from flying "Like a Bird" as Nelly tries on a much sexier demeanor in her new video for "Promiscuous." The song, from her new album "Loose," is already one of the hottest songs of the summer, thanks largely in part to her collaboration with hip-hop producer Timbaland. "He tries anything. We have a hoot. We are like perfect musical patterns," Furtado says of her singing partner. "Ever since Tim and I cut the track with Missy Elliott five years ago, 'Get Your Freak On Remix,' everybody was saying when you gonna cut an album with Tim? It got redundant after a while."

With their hit getting heavy rotation stateside and another single, "Maneater," blowing up in the UK, Furtado couldn't be more excited. "I feel rejuvenated as an artist. I feel like, wow I am so much better that this than when I was 20 and so awkward and not knowing anything about television...I have embraced the role of performer a lot more."

"Loose" is available in stores now.

I have always loved her music. I discovered her from the soundtrack of "Brokendown Palace" and listened to her ever since. Also, it isn't surprising that she is going more R & B, because, you kind of tasted that in her other albumed. I liked her music when she was a so called flower child (which to me isn't the correct comparison) and now. Her sound is unique and she likes all music. That's wonderful.
