Police Raids Over Jolie-Pitt Baby Shower

TMZ has learned the FBI and Massachusetts authorities raided a Westfield, Mass. home Tuesday night and seized photos of a baby shower held by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

It's a bizarre story that starts in Namibia, where the shower was thrown. James Haven, Jolie's brother, took a number of pictures in Namibia. When he returned to L.A., his camera broke so he took it to Best Buy where the camera was purchased, and asked them to fix it under the warranty. Best Buy sent the camera to Precision Camera and Video Repair in Enfield, Connecticut.

Sources tell TMZ that two employees at Precision, Bill Keyes and Adam Beckwith, discovered the pictures in the digital camera. We're told that Keyes told authorities that Beckwith downloaded the photos.

Keyes mother, Madelon, told TMZ that her 36-year-old son was excited, showed her the pictures and sent an email to someone in California. Sources say the email may have been an attempt to sell the photos. Madelon Keyes told TMZ, "I don't think he would do something like that."

A sergeant from the Westfield Police Department confirmed with TMZ that authorities searched Keyes' home and seized his computer. The sergeant also said a search warrant was executed at Precision Camera and Video Repair and the actual camera that took the pictures was also seized.

The sergeant said neither Keyes nor Beckwith were arrested and that the case is in the hands of the LA County District Attorney. The sergeant says neither man violated Massachusetts law, but California laws are different.

Danielle Friedland of Celebrity Baby Blog tells TMZ that she received an email last week with sample photos attached, "to see what these photos may be worth." One of the of the images was on her blog. After some consideration, however, Danielle removed the images, believing the photos may have been illegally obtained.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney had no comment because the investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.

We could not reach Bill Keyes or Adam Beckwith for comment.

John Malinosky, President of Precision Camera and Video Repair said he was unaware of the search and "We have absolutely no knowledge of this."

TMZ placed a call to Lavely & Singer, Pitt and Jolie's lawyers, but it was not returned.

16. It's not about them being celebrities people. It's about theft. The FBI aren't doing this search just because it's Brangelina. This is about invasion of privacy. It's an actual crime. Yeah it affected a celeb couple but this is the sort of thing that can trickle down right to you and your nobody selves.

Just like these employees took advantage of Angie's brother by stealing his photos to sell, this same thing could happen to you, if someone stole your personal information and then tried to use it for profit. These men were going to use private photos to make money. Just like identity thieves steal people's information and credit card info.

Stop slamming the people cause they're celebs and take a look at the bigger picture.

18. First of all, I think it was very stupid of Brad Pitt and Angelina to go and get the camera fixed under warrantee. DON'T you think they have enough money to buy another camera ? After all what did they think would happen to their pictures, once someone got a hold of the camera. It's wrong for anyone to steal private pictures like that, but how much money did that cost The US government/tax payers ?
To in volve the FBI, in a matter like this ? The FBI should be left to find, terrorists, not someone's home pictures.

19. It really took the FBI? I had this figured out last weekend. I posted info on Bill Keyes on JustJared.com on June 25 comment # 706 ~~

Geez, where do I sign up for the FBI?

This is ridiculous. Don't they have some missing kids to locate? Why couldn't local LE handle this? It's not like it took a rocket scientist to figure out who was behind this. The guy was stupid for using a non anon email.

20. Well it involves more than one state so it's no biggie that the FBI's involved. Believe me, they get involved in more idle stuff than this everyday. I don't get why some of you are in huff that the authority's all over this. I'm sure none of you would want a stranger to steal your private photos and then try to sell them. You would've made the same complaint and those precious police time and tax dollars would've been "wasted" on you too.

21. I still think this could have been done on purpose to offset bad publicity about Human rights group trying to get them banned from Namibia.
Who would stupidly give a camera with famous pics to a stranger?????

I also agree with Donna #6

and I think they are using the kids in other ways too.
*Remember how Jolie held Z and a Newsweek to make sure not only did the pics everyone take get both - but of course people would comment on the Mag.
*Then Mad was carrying, with of course cover side out, a Newsweek in dangerous Haiti.
And "surprisingly' Brad beats many other much more deserving people to be named one of 15 top American celebs who contributes in NEWSWEEK mag.
Maybe if there is a court date over the photo's they can bring kids wrapped up in a Time magazine.

22. Our tax dollars go to finding baby shower photos, come on, get your priorities straight!! I don't care to see them if they were free and mailed to my house, this whole Jolie-Pitt baby thing is so out of hand, I was sick of hearing about it before she had the baby!! Who cares about the pictures?? I do care where my tax dollars are going though!!

23. NOLA, give me a small break. You think the FBI would be all over random stolen photos of normal people like us? Um, no. They would laugh and tell us to make a report with our local LE. Invasion of privacy...LOL

24. Angelina's brother is dumb to have given that camera to a stranger but in his defense he does look VERY VERY SURPRISED!!!!

25. Well, the reason the FBI is involved is because it's over state lines and pictures of children were in the memory stick. These person (s) were trying to exploit and sell the photo's . God knows what and whom would of gotten a hold of them and what they would do with them. There's all sorts of issues like kidnapping, etc. I'll tell you this. If someone took my personal photo's that had my children's pictures in them and was trying to sell them internationally? I'd want the FBI involved also.

Good I'm glad they got the guy

27. so my car gets vandalized and i see who did nit and tell the police who did it...and no arrests are made...however the FBI can track down lost photos of a baby shower...F*** our legal system

28. Nola #8 Get a clue! The FBI will NOT investigate the theft of baby shower photos for you or me. It IS because it is Brad and Angelina. It IS because it is a celebrity. Yes, it is theft...but the FBI? Put down your drink and step away from the computer Nola!

Posted at 5:03PM on Jun 29th 2006 by Me Again

29. My comment is going to be aimed toward Nola who left the 8th comment on this topic...

You know damn straight that this is ABSOLUTELY about them being celebrities. You actually think that if someone stole your photos that you really wanted to keep all to yourself, that the FBI, (I repeat the freakin' FBI), or even your local police would get themselves involved?!?!?! I don't think so dear. If you believe that this sort of thing could, as you say, "trickle down right to you and your nobody selves", you are seriously deluded. Ok, identity theft is totally different from stealing someone's baby shower pictures so you can't really compare. Now granted, these are pictures that belong to a celebrity couple and could be used to gain profit, but is that a reason for the FBI to get involved? I DON'T THINK SO!!! The matter at hand is that this has been completely blown out of proportion because it is dealing with BRANGELINA who just happen to be the hot shit at the moment. If it were you or me, this is a case for the furthest back burner the government can find... and if we're lucky maybe the local sheriff's assistant could peruse through our lame report before tossing it aside.

The point is, we're not "slamming" the couple because they're celebs... for once it isn't really about them... we're "slamming" the US government for the preferential treatment of it's citizens. So basically the bottom line here is, "IF YOU GOT MONEY AND FAME WE'LL MAKE YOU OUR FIRST PRIORITY." Thanks Uncle Sam! Don't worry about the average joe... i guess we'll figure something out.

Ugh... makes me sick.
