Celebs With No Class

Lindsay Lohan / Mischa BartonThis is the time of year when many college-bound guys and girls enjoy their last summer of freedom before heading off to the halls of higher education.  While a BA is by no means a Hollywood prerequisite, lately there seem to be a large number of college-aged stars who are choosing nightclubs over bookclubs.

From Lindsay Lohan to Kristin Cavallari, check out which stars are studying hard and which are partying hard.

Lindsay may not be taking any academic classes, but the just turned 20-year-old is no stranger to pulling an all-nighter.  From LA to NY and back, keeping up with Lindsay's nightlife escapades can be harder than getting into an Ivy league school. While teen movies like "Freaky Friday" and "Mean Girls" put her on the Hollywood map, Lindsay seems to have graduated to more adult fair with "A Prairie  Home Companion" and upcoming roles in "Chapter 27" and "Bobby."

Hilary and haley DuffHilary and Haylie Duff

Hilary, 18, and her older sister Haylie, 21, seem to do everything together.  They've recorded songs together, will co-star in the upcoming film "Material Girls" and enrolled in online courses at Harvard together. With past credits like "Raise Your Voice" and "The Perfect Man," here's hoping their new studies will lead to more intelligent roles.

Kristin CavalarriKristin Cavallari

Famous for being a real-life mean girl on MTV's "Laguna Beach", Kristin graduated from high school and set her sights on Hollywood. After hosting the short-lived UPN reality series "Get the Party Started," the 19-year-old's quest for fame led to a role in the upcoming horror movie "Fingerprints" and a gig modeling for Bongo jeans. While Kristin may not be enrolled in school, from the looks of her late night antics the underage starlet could teach everyone a thing or two about getting in to the hottest LA clubs.

Mischa BartonMischa Barton

Mischa Barton's character on "The OC" was killed off before she could attend college. In real life Barton's reason for not getting an edumacation is a little less brutal - she just wants to make movies. While the British born actress has aspirations of attending Yale Drama School, with two films in the can and two more set to start production soon, it doesn't look like Barton will be cramming for mid-terms anytime soon.

Mary-Kate and Ashley OlsenThe Olsen Twins

Mary Kate and Ashley aren't just your typical everyday, run of the mill, beautiful, fraternal twin billionaire babes - the Olsen twins also have brains.  The former child stars put their Hollywood careers on hold and enrolled at NYU in 2004.  Although Mary-Kate dropped out in 2005, Ashley is continuing on with her education. Regardless, as founders of their Dualstar Entertainment Group, it doesn't look like either of them will ever have to worry about having a job.

Keira KnightleyKeira Knightley

Keira Knightley was a happy co-ed at England's Esher College when her career started to take off.  Faster than you can "Bend It Like Beckham", Knightley traded her books for scripts and quickly  became one of the most sought after young actresses in the biz.  While other kids are partying on spring break, you'll be able to find Keira basking under the Hollywood rays with the "Pirates of the Caribbean."

76. can you people SHUT UP??? none of you should care so much about whether or not celebrities choose to get an education or not!. its THEIR CHOICE, if they are happy and doing what they love to do, then why bitch about them? so all of you get lives and start caring about more important things. i mean really, why should you even THINK about wasting your short life bashing other people and their life decisions? hmm, you shouldnt!

77. kristen cavallari is prettttyy damn hot.lol. she isn't at the top of making her career, and she was pretty nasty on Laguna Beach, but i would like to see Fingerprints to determine whether or not she is a good actress or not, and see if she really deserves the Hollywood fame. If not, then i agree with mostly everyone, she is unexperienced and needs to go to a college in which she would take acting courses, that is, if she wants to actually come back with SOME talent. thanks:)

78. Im sorry, I personally beleive that an education is essential to succeding, as sort of a back up plan...although for those who have mad bank & were child stars, dont neccessarily have to worry about that, unless learning and earning a degree is their passion...

& for MICHELLE NELSON- i HIGHLY DISAGREE TO URE COMMENT that:
attending solely online classes, while occasionally necessary, should not be considered an "education".

That is 100% false, because if it leads to a degree- no ones going to do research to see whether u actually walked on the university and took classes on campus. They're going to see that degree from that UNIVERSITY obtained from learning information from the UNIVERSITY'S Professors & that's that!

So PLEASE Do not knock online classes because they are made for very busy people that dont have much time to actually walk on campus and take those classes & they are paying tuition & are enrolled into that school just as any other college students are.

79. Ok. These girls, (with xception to Kiera and the Duffs) are nobodys. Why the heck do they get all this recognition for doing nothing? They NEED an education. I've met McDonald employees with more brains. They put a bad image out there for us women who have come from nothing and really done our very best. And who the HECK is Kristin C.? I'm sorry, but she is just some loser who just wants to put her face on a camera. She is absolutley ridiculous!! I wish everyone would just stop paying attention to the hollywood prostitute. ECH! Educated women ROCK!!!!!

80. Almost all of these "people" have no clue what it is like to be an actual person. I am going to go out on a limb here and assume that they think they will always have acting, always have money, and so on and so forth.

I mean if I were to hear a solid reason as to why some of the actors and actresses now adays don't want to go to collage and get a higher education, I would probably respect them more.

I think it is stupid to throw away education for "the night life" and clubs and what not. I mean if your in collage and you get into a fraturnity, after you go through your hazing, there are beer bashes and keg parties and everything. Also, if you go to collage after high school and your there for your 4 years or so, that will put you at like 21 if your 18 when you graduated or something like that, and then you can go out LEGALLY and party and tear up the floors at the clubs.

Getting an education over the nightlife makes the clubs at 21 alot more fun because you have waited to do it while getting an education and now that your free to legally do whatever you please, it, in my opinion, makes it more worth while.

And I think it is rediculious that these so called, "celebrities" can go drinking and everything underage, and not be thrown in jail, while on the other hand, a normal average Joe/Jane who is under 21 who has been working since 16 and raising themselfs and supporting their family, putting in more than their two cents, gets arrested, thrown in jail, procecuted, the works and spends XX months/years behind bars.

I would be delighted to see all these underage partiers actually get busted like a normal person, and get a normal persons sentance. I wouldn't give a seconds thought that they wouldn't be making movies anymore, or songs, or anything.

They're granted more freedom than the actual citizens of the United States, and they use it to mock us, throw it in are face and remind us that we are not as good as they believe themselfs to be.

Just once I would like to wind up all these "teenie-boopers" and throw them in a normal house, making minimum wage, having the government take ungodly amounts of tax out of every paycheck, with no "room service" or special treatment, buttlers, shoffers or anything. Only very few of them would be able to survive. Be able to take it, that I'd be willing to put my money on. Oh yeah, and have to pay unseen amounts of money every other day practically for gas for their car.

And god help me I hope that they WOULD prove me wrong, but hope that they take away from the experiance, and not go around flaunting it in everybodies face. That is, in my book, extreamly disrespectful.

You do not need to spend a million or two dollars on a pair of shoes with probably fake dimond studs in them and everything. See, a normal person would go out looking for shoes, and if they are too expencive, go somewhere else, or to the swap-meet. You can almost always find the same exact item that was expencive in the retail store, at a swap-meet for dirt cheap. Chances are, if your looking for something, the swap-meet has it.

Oh yeah, I am 18 by the way, so if any other commenters or whatever try to bash me as an old guy who doesn't know what he's talking about, you can see that i'm not old.

85. to #62 Have u ever taken online courses? Probably not. So what gives you the right to talk about them or judge the people that take them? I'm sure you have no knowledge about online courses except for your own which is most likely sh*tty & unreliable judging from your comment. Do your research before you open your mouth.

86. #79 amen to what you said.

Callie-Thank you for pointing that out. Why should people care what these celebrities our doing with their lives? I think you all are just jealous and you need to move on and figure out what you're doing with yourself. Stop bashing them; you're provide their salaries by buying all their movies and watching their shows.

87. Kristin Cavi...whatever...is famous...famous for being a rich b*tch. Don't give her your attention or time of day!

88. Paris Hilton needs to go to school. She is illiterate. I know she isn't very will spoken. I wonder if her parents are embarrassed? It's a good thing she's so rich! But imagine... not being able to read. How embarrasing. I guess if dancing in public doesn't humiliate her, not much will.

89. im happy that some of them are getting an education!

90. It's a bit sad that these few handful of celebs (EXCLUDING KRISTEN CAVALIRI, she isn't a celeb!!) have become famous even though they don't have any sort of high education. And as corny as it sounds for people to say "education is the key to life" it is kind of true! Seriously just wait in 20 years I bet at least three people on that list are going to be such has beens with scraps of money left from there "glory days." Lets face it, Hollywood only has your back for the moment, and once thoes years (or minutes) of fame are gone, you get spit back into the REAL world, where people actually work exteremely hard to make a living. So I must admit that many of the stars once they retire from acting, singing etc.. that they do tend to live a luxurious and comfortable life. but since money isn't coming in like it was before, the celebs have to watch themselves. so my point for this semi-lame lecture is that education might not be valued to them now, but will defiently pay a toll on them LATER!!!. Where looks don't matter anymore and where that lack of education is going to be a HUGE slap in the face!
