Spelling Mansion Secretly On the Market

TMZ has learned that Candy Spelling, Aaron's widow, has quietly put the Spellings' legendary mansion on the market for $150 million.

Sources in the real estate industry say Westside Estate Agency (WEA) has a pocket listing on the 56,000 square foot estate, meaning it is quietly being shopped among realtors and select buyers. The mansion, located in the exclusive Holmby Hills area of L.A., was completed in 1991 for around $47 million, which includes $10 million for the land.

One real estate source says Candy Spelling has let a lot of people on the staff go and that the buzz is that she is going to shut the house down so it can be shown by realtors. Aaron Spelling died on June 23.

61. I cannot believe the postings here. Either the bulk of you work for someone else and are just jealous, or your very young and ignorant. Its called capitalism. If you dont like it try living in north korea where three quarters of the population is starving to death. your choice.

62. Lets see. The Realtor tells me this is a good starting price and that I will never be able to ask for more. I would love to get rid of the on going expense of a home & life style I do not require. Or maybe I should just give it to the homeless and let them trash it to pieces. Bill & Linda Gates, any thoughts ???

63. 1. whoever (if anyone) buys this place is a complete moron!!! what an absolute waste of money!!! if you even have this much, give it to some people who can't even buy a meal!!!!!! I can't believe Candy would try to make such a crazy profit!!! WHO WOULD WANT TO BUY A HOUSE THAT SOMEONE DIES IN ANYWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Allow me to answer the many questions that this poor, uneducated, socialist has asked. If we all thought as you do, "if you even have this much etc." we would surely fall into the category of pure socialist nation. One of the many splendors of living in the wonderful capitalist society that we live in does indeed put some of us in a category where one can afford such a home. Aaron Spelling himself was solely responsible for employing thousands of people. He didn't fall into this kind of money. His talent and perserverance got him that money. His ability to generate millions of dollars in advertising by bringing millions of people to watch television shows for the past 30 years. Do you have any other talent other than bumming your housing, meals and health care off of people like me?

Also, Candy wants to make the profit because, quite simply, it's hers to make. If this mansion were made available to you, I'm sure you'd be talking out of the other side of your government cheese fed mouth.

Finally, Einstein, people die in houses. The project housing you're living in has probably had many people die in it. Most likely from drug overdoses, which were no doubt, caused by having too much time on their hands because the government paid for everything.

Perhaps instead of buying a "blingy set of spinners" fo yo' Cadillac or a new cell phone with a built-in movie camera, you should consider a savings account. Save your money and who knows, maybe one day you'll be able to understand what the capitalist system is all about. Maybe one day, you'll be so busy actually working, you won't even have time to go to the many protests that I'm sure you attend now.

64. whine, whine, whine... The lady owns a house and wants to sell it after her husband dies. Big deal. Happens every day. All your whining about her "profit" sounds like a crock of sour grapes and communism. Get over it.

67. The property is directed sole rights as outlined in the living will by which I am confident that Mr. Spelling had. Regardless of the profitability of the sale, Candy has every right to utilize the monies gained as she see’s fit. As for the comment about Bill Gates, currently he gives 60 percent of his income to legitimate charity including his own. Most money moguls give less than 5%. If I had the money I would purchase the house, it’s the American dream.

68. Sounds to me like this woman never liked the house, or if she did, she finally decided it was way too much house. I don't blame her for wanting to dump it. The upkeep and taxes are probably a few million per year.

69. Typical do-gooder Libs on here, showing us how easy it is for them to spend *other people's* money. If she wants to roll around in it and keep every penny, that is her right. Jackasses.

71. Who cares how much Spelling's widow sells the house for? And why is it anyone's business how much she makes off it and what she does with the money she earns from selling something she owns?

Spelling made his money legally even if it was by selling bad TV shows to TV networks. Does that make what he earned any less his and now hers? Why does anyone presume to have a right to tell Ms. Spelling what she ought to do with her money and property? Who gets to define "worthy causes" for Ms. Spelling? Will those same people have the right to tell you what to do with your money? I doubt it!

This silly, class envy is outrageous.

73. Hey W.B. comment 12

Nobody has to ask Bill Gates to give his money to the needy. Where have you been? plus he didn't make his money pretending too be someone else or PROFIT from issues he's so aditmitly against (Sean Penn) War Movies etc...
