Coldplay Takes Aim

Chris Martin: Click to watchAt a press conference in Hong Kong, the band's frontman made both a jab at Vice President Dick Cheney and fueled speculation that Coldplay may go the route of Weezer and disband.

When talking about why they don't get into fights with other bands, Chris Martin spoke out against the second in command, "You know, if you don't like [the music], just listen to something else. We'd much rather have a fight with Dick Cheney, you know - people who really do things that we consider to be bad." The comment brought laughs from the crowd and prompted the moderator to add, "Did everybody hear that?"

Martin seemed to dominate the presser and admitted it could be a while until the world gets new music from the band. "We won't do another album until we think we've written the best songs in history, and that could take a while. So we could be waiting, 20 years or 50 years. Who knows? Our next record seems like a long way away."

16. Martin should worry about his own, poodle Tony Blair, if he wants to put down a political figure.

I am an American and don't want to hear it from anyone that makes good $ off of my country and wants to put down our administration at the same time.

same goes for good old Johhny depp. he can stay in France!

17. Thank you for your comments, Justin. It's nice to read rational thoughts every now and then. Let's ask Chris and Gwyneth what they spend on clothing and shoes for one year and then I may listen to them tell me how I need to help eradicate poverty.
President Bush has given $10,000 of his own money to the tsunami relief effort. This is just one piece of evidence showing his consistency of thought and action -- he's putting his money where his mouth is. Has any president in recent memory made a comparable charitable gesture?
Vice President Cheney and Second Lady Cheney released their 2004 Form 1040 and it showed that the Cheneys donated $303,354 to charity in 2004, primarily from Mrs. Cheney's book royalties from Simon & Schuster .
The 2004 tax return for President and First Lady Bush shows nearly $78,000 in charitable contributions on just under $673,000 of taxable income.
The Clintons REFUSED to release any information about charitable contributions. Wonder why?

18. Funny how it is okay for musicians like Toby Keith, Reba, and other country music artists to speak their opinions as long as they support the Bush administration. Hypocrits!!

22. Chris Martin can and should express his opinions.. just like everyone on here. With that. I will express mine lol.... Coldplay music has never moved me. I turn the channel when its on the radio. I refuse to buy it and well, his whining doesnt inspire me. If anything .. Coldplay music reminds me of Woody Allen and some attempt at singing in the shower. So his political views are his and his idea of making the best songs in HISTORY.. he is going to have a Long ass wait lol

25. if waiting to write the best songs in history is what determines making an album, then in theory, cold play should not have any albums at all. they're pretty cocky about their mediocrity. however, the dick cheney comment is funny so i have to give props for that. doesn't make their music any better though.
