Brad Pitt -- "I'm Kinda Sick of Myself"

Brad PittFor Brad Pitt, satisfaction is getting a burp out of "that thing" known as his baby daughter, Shiloh Nouvel.

That, amongst other things, is what Pitt told the Today Show's Ann Curry Monday morning in an exclusive interview from New Orleans, where Pitt was surveying the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and promoting environmentally-friendly solutions for the rebuilding of the ravaged city. Working in conjunction with the non-profit Global Green, Pitt said that he has invested $100,000 to help the citizens of New Orleans.

Pitt laid bare the impelling force behind his good works, telling Curry, "I got kids now. And it really changes your perspective on the world. And, you know, I've had my day...I'm so tired of thinking about myself. I'm kinda sick of myself."

And though much artistic work may lie ahead, Pitt says he's got a new project that's consuming him: "You can write a book, you can make a movie, you can draw, paint a painting, but having kids is really the most extraordinary thing I've ever taken on. And, man, if I can get a burp out of that, that little thing, I'll feel such a sense of accomplishment."

244. No i think Brad, needs to find more work ! He makes enough i dont feel sorry for this guy. He can have the freedom to adopt a child from africa and instead he goes to africa which is nice. So angie is doing her thing. like making a film. I think if he wants to do the cause, pay for it. He is over there let see what a celeb like him will do.

245. yes concragulations you have a child now can we stop hearing about it lets not kid everybody the help you are doing is a tax write off for you im sure hes gonna step out on her too the next pretty face comes along that he feels frisky if he hasn't already you can't teach old dogs new tricks as they say if you asked me he did jen a favor what does that make angela jolie look like im sure there life is not that great ive lost respect for the both of them there both dogs and homewreckers what does that show the kids and what kinda of role models and respectable people they are i cant stand to hear about them.like i said they dont like publicity but they cant take a crap w/out publicizing it look at their childs birth how sick trying to profit off the birth of their child and pics.

247. Brad and Angie keep up the good work! There are very few people now days that will open up their home, heart and wallet to those in need. When you adopted your first two children of different ethnic backgrounds that told me a lot about you. The two of you are very special. A persons true strength lies in the heart. God knows what's in the heart and this is why he has blessed the two of you.

248. It is pretty sad that you destroyed a good marriage, cheated and had a baby out of wed lock. Now you want eveyone to like Angilina. I am a God loving person so she will have to answer to him above. It doesn't look good if you follow the 10 commandments, but since you became famous I guess you lost all morals. Jennifer looks happy. I think she will have the last laugh. Once a cheater always a cheater. Every man she's had , she stole fom another woman. It is a full circle in life. Carma is every where. And who opened your eyes. I am a person from the hurricane destroyed region. It has been almost a year. I guess your trying to look good. That would have been last October 05.

Not to take away from any good that Brad is doing (that's great) but I have to agree that I am tired of celebrities who after having their first baby feel as though they have discovered something brand new that they must share with the whole world. There are parents out there who have been doing it much longer and also struggling with things they will never even know about. The ones that write a book about 'parenting' are even more annoying. AS IF they can even relate to a "regular" parent's world--without the nanny's, housekeepers, personal chefs, trainers and assistants. So I agree--Get over yourselves and just be a parent to your kids without needing to promote how great you are and how much you have learned about what is "truly important" in this world. I guess when you don't have all the money and material things to fill your life with you can discover that much sooner, without some celebrity telling you the way it is. Gimme a break!

252. Could he do more for New Orleans, probably. Couldn't we all though? At least he's helping and using his money and celebrity to assist those who really need it, which is more than I can say for many. With all of the celebrities out there who make millions and occasionally donate here and there, I think it is nice to see people like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (and others) actually getting their hands dirty. Sometimes speaking out on a cause to raise awareness and taking the time to spend with children starving in Africa means more than just the grand ole' American dollar. And I think the reason he talks so much about fatherhood and personal matters, is because that is what the interviewers want to know about and maybe not because he is so full of himself. It is very obvious that those three children are most important and that is nothing to give him grief about. Think about what those orphans' lives would have been or maybe Shiloh could stay with nannies all the time...traveling around the globe with parents who love you doesn't sound so bad.

253. I just don't get it. Why does anyone have to "player hate"? Why can't people just acknowledge another one's success and wish them well? Who cares how much money Brad Pitt donates to a cause or how much money he makes and how good of a dad he is or isn't or how much his speech is like Angie's. At least he donates; at least he knows the importance of being a parent.

Brad, continue doing what you are doing. You and Angie are great people. God bless you and your new family.

255. I do agree, I'm a little sick of hearing about Brad too. And while I still think he's an alright guy, I don't like what he did either. I thought that was so messed up the way he dissed Jennifer. That must have been humiliating for her. I'm not impressed either with his philanthropy. I often wonder if he were not with Angelina, would he still be as involved in these projects? At the same time, I am glad though that more nationwide attention has been given to many of society's ills, no matter what source that attention comes from.
