Brad Pitt -- "I'm Kinda Sick of Myself"

Brad PittFor Brad Pitt, satisfaction is getting a burp out of "that thing" known as his baby daughter, Shiloh Nouvel.

That, amongst other things, is what Pitt told the Today Show's Ann Curry Monday morning in an exclusive interview from New Orleans, where Pitt was surveying the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and promoting environmentally-friendly solutions for the rebuilding of the ravaged city. Working in conjunction with the non-profit Global Green, Pitt said that he has invested $100,000 to help the citizens of New Orleans.

Pitt laid bare the impelling force behind his good works, telling Curry, "I got kids now. And it really changes your perspective on the world. And, you know, I've had my day...I'm so tired of thinking about myself. I'm kinda sick of myself."

And though much artistic work may lie ahead, Pitt says he's got a new project that's consuming him: "You can write a book, you can make a movie, you can draw, paint a painting, but having kids is really the most extraordinary thing I've ever taken on. And, man, if I can get a burp out of that, that little thing, I'll feel such a sense of accomplishment."

257. Why is anyone critical or judgmental of someone giving money to New Orleans? That's l00,000 more than they had yesterday. Did any one of you give any money or support to these people. I know I couldn't because I live on such strict budget. I wished that I could. And going public about it is how anyone gets attention for any cause. That's how money is raised. If you don't know about it how can you contribute? And the children adopted from anywhere in the third world, is that not a good thing? They don't have the basics that our country has. Have any of you adopted a child here? Don't let jealousy of someones money blind you from the good that they are doing. We don't know his heart, nor does he know yours, superficial or not, hats off to anyone who helps period. If we criticize, maybe we should look at ourselves. What are any of those critical doing? At least he is doing.

259. I don't get it, if you all are so sick of Brad Pitt, why are you reading articles about him, and taking the time to post your displeasure????

260. Brad, Brad, Brad, I was soooo infactuated with you right up until you cheated. Just like all the other dogs in this world. Now roll over and play dead!

You should have invested $100,000 into your own marriage instead of gamling it on the whore house.

Angelina is nothing but a homewrecker, If you weren't interested in your wife anymore you should have been a MAN! and ended it before hooking up with the first freak on the street.

How wonderful to be able to pick and choose your children based on the country. You two need to realize that there are children that are being abused, neglected and die from hunger here in the U.S. that need a safe home.

Our soldiers are fighting for idiots like you. I haven't heard anything patriotic just idiotic!

Sad and pathetic!

261. Come on, all. Brad and Angelina may be gushing new parents (like a lot of folks) and they may certainly be overexposed. But, what they are doing for the good of all is remarkable and they deserve respect and thanks for it.

And that exposure comes with a price. How would you like it if you could not even take your kids to see their ill grandma without hordes of media ghouls chasing you around?

It's outstanding that they are using their fame for social good. And, that they are serious about parenting.

263. A hundred thousand dollars from Brad is like ten bucks from me. Get serious.

264.
I feel alot of these remarks are from SOME people who can't do and be the person Brad is. We have all enjoyed some (or all) of his movies. That is his job just like we have jobs. So, he happens to get in the news for his job. I think that is great. I am sure Brad does not ask for alot of the "NEWS" he is in and wishes he wasn't alot of the time.
I am very happy for him and hope he continues all the happiness he is finding now. Brad is a Father and LOVES it. Same as all regular people. What is wrong with that??
I think it is great of him to give part of his money to help others. That is helping people (especially children) no matter where they are. I wish I was able to do that. So, I say "God Bless You, Brad"...
Enjoy your family....and all of you enjoy your family, jobs and whatever your life brings to you.

265. If you want to be sick of some of these famous people be sick of some of the ones that do nothing with the millions of dollars they make. If these people would just give a fourth of what they make there wouldn't be any hungry kids in this country. Poor people who can't afford health insurance who really are down and can't help it. Just watch some of the Feed The Children programs. They live in LA all making so much money that they don't know what the real world is like. Maybe he and Angelina aren't giving as much as they could, but at least they are giving something back. That comment made at the Academey Awards show by George Clooney just shows you they don't get it.

266. You know Mr Pitt, I hope this relationship is for real, granted we only know what is printed in the tabloidss, but there does seem to be things that are obvious. A baby was born out of what did start out to be I'll take your "man" if I want. I decided I want. I get what I want. Now someone else innocent has been brought into the game of "getting attention for myself". Need I mention whom I am speaking about? I didn't think so. She's a viper, and she will strike again whe she's bored. You may not be full of yourself, but she certainly is.....

268. I guess some people like to hear the garbage of the well-known set. The garbage like the disrespect Ms Jolie has for her father. What goes around comes around. Maybe one day these children will forget they have parents, unless, maybe, they are invited to the.......WEDDING!

269. so jennifer aniston had a dysfunctional upbringing and that is one of the reasons they split up? I am glad to see he went on to someone who is way more stable and traditional....yeah! Now he sees there is more than Hollywood, good for him lets give him a gold star. Hopefully he will teach his children well though.
