Brad Pitt -- "I'm Kinda Sick of Myself"

Brad PittFor Brad Pitt, satisfaction is getting a burp out of "that thing" known as his baby daughter, Shiloh Nouvel.

That, amongst other things, is what Pitt told the Today Show's Ann Curry Monday morning in an exclusive interview from New Orleans, where Pitt was surveying the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and promoting environmentally-friendly solutions for the rebuilding of the ravaged city. Working in conjunction with the non-profit Global Green, Pitt said that he has invested $100,000 to help the citizens of New Orleans.

Pitt laid bare the impelling force behind his good works, telling Curry, "I got kids now. And it really changes your perspective on the world. And, you know, I've had my day...I'm so tired of thinking about myself. I'm kinda sick of myself."

And though much artistic work may lie ahead, Pitt says he's got a new project that's consuming him: "You can write a book, you can make a movie, you can draw, paint a painting, but having kids is really the most extraordinary thing I've ever taken on. And, man, if I can get a burp out of that, that little thing, I'll feel such a sense of accomplishment."

333. I think it is of merit that Brad Pitt is tired of thinking of himself as first and foremost. His statement was lovely. Someone above said that he is just finding out what the so-called regular people have known all alsong. Actually the so-called regular people - usually have kids that are NOT planned and very FEW men EVER say that having children is the end-all and be-all . . . Let's face it - how often do you hear a father saying that the highlight of his life is having children. Therefore, it is very refreshing to hear Brad Pitt saying this. Also, hats off to his becoming a father of 3 in just one year. . . not to mention actually taking on these children from different cultures/races as his own. We all can talk a good talk, but there aren't that many people who adopt children and very, very few who are white (especially not white and privileged) but will choose to raise children of Color as their own. Bravo Brad (and Angelina). Bravo!

336. ONE: The "cheating rumors" I see popping up here and there on this board are just that... RUMORS... and it's not very good form to pass them around. Even Ms. Aniston herself has said there is no truth to them... so let's try and stick to the FACTS, people.
TWO: Brad Pitt isn't the only one who's commented on how he spends his money... or how much he makes... I don't know how the interview went (did not watch it) -- but perhaps he was asked WHY he was in New Orleans? Which the correct (and honest) answer would probably be exactly how he did it... now if you want to see someone REALLY blow their own horn... try watching Oprah... I mean, for someone who seems to do so much "good" for others... she certainly likes to make sure those cameras are all focused on when and where she is while doing it, also! Also read where Ms. Aniston bought and paid for that 9.5 carat diamond herself that she's been wearing... that's not so bad, unless you add in the other 'witness' who claims that she was passing it off as a GIFT from Mr. Vaughn... (who subsequently became quite agitated re: that fact and she switched it from left hand to right, alledgedly)...
THREE: Anyone who lets their actions or even their emotions get away from them based on what ANYBODY else does ("celebrity" or not) has got serious issues that cannot even BEGIN to be addressed on this board... I've met/seen people in my life get all upset about a couple divorcing (who they've never even MET outside of some Fan Magazine) or couples who have "cheated" on each other (based on no more FACT than what some OTHER stranger has written down for money...
Hopefully, we won't be judged as harshly when the time comes... the term "blood-sucking" comes to mind... Lol

337. I wish Brangelina had stayed in Africa forever. They are both thinking all this publicity about their good works will make people forget what kind of people they are. She is like a black widow spider and he is an a----.

339. THIS IS THE TRUTH

JENNIFER is Beautiful
Jolie needed to prove she can steel anyone's man under her evil, bad girl spell! she was alone and needed a Daddy for her children, what better man than "Brad" the most well know, beautiful Man known to everyone in Hollywood???
Jolie has a reputation of Tattoos, SEX and being unfaithful (Married how many times???)
BRAD CHEATED!!!
BRAD CHEATED!!! do we not get that people???? who would be saying "oh good job, how humanitarian of he and Angie to be donating money! who gives a rats ass what money they give??? do yo know how much money they have??? wouldn't you do the same?...it's all for attention and to draw more attention to their fake little family!-they're doing it for all the wrong reasons! of course they try and be original, good will ambassadors, want look like nice people!!! wouldn't you try and make yourself look good after you've were publicly humiliated yourself and not only that, but are so guilty of adulty??? I FEEL SO SOOOOOO Sorry for poor Jen! she deserves so much better! she's truely the only beautiful person and deserves way more credit than Brad and that Tattoo'd CUM Dumpster Angie! you all know they won't last, but it's all about having Brad's baby and saying it's his for Angie! I think they both deserve each other THEY ARE both disguting people and will go to hell for it! SHiloh is not the most beautiful baby! I think CPS should take the baby away and give it away to some real good parents that will actually be a great family and raise her with Morals! I think Jenn and Vince should adopt Shiloh...that baby will never have a chance at being normal and neither will Brad and Angie ever deeply feel normal about their relationship! they'll definitely figure out how screwed up each other are some day! GOOD GOING BRAD AN ANGIE!!! you created another dysfunctional little monster..LOL....

340. While $100,000 is quite a gift, I find it interesting that Jennifer Aniston has privately donated almost $1 million to Katrina through Oprah organizations. No publicity expected or required, she just cracked open the checkbook.

341. I am totally with you, Audacte! Comment #14.
I applaud Angelina's humanitarian efforts, however, she and Brad should remember which country it is that made them who they are. The same country that enables them to travel the rest of the world trying to save it. The same country that allows them to live the life of a "good will ambassador."
I'm quite certain that if it wasn't for the money and fame that this country gave them, they wouldn't be as effective in raising awareness for their causes. And while there are many countries that are in desperate need of help, our beautiful nation could use some assistance as well. So good for them, for all of their worldly efforts, but they shouldn't forget where they came from.

343. Yes, Brad! I, personally, have been sick of you since the day you walked out on Jennifer. Sick! Sick! Sick! You left "THE GOOD GIRL" for that Lesbian Dominatrix! One day you will also be sick of riding the air waves in planes, traveling around the world collecting babies and following 10 steps behind that b---- you seem so attached to. Stop being a "NANNY" and become a MAN again.

344. In response to Audacte:

So you think it's Brad Pitt's responsibility to take care of this country? Why not pin the blame where it belongs; our neanderthal President and his bastion of narrow-minded right-wing fascists. If I were Pitt I sure as hell wouldn't want to waste my hundred grand on a country whose President probably spends more than that on a toilet in the White House, I would give it to third world countries who are DESPERATELY in need of it and have no other way of getting that kind of money. And I DEFINITELY wouldn't want to give it to a country full of ungrateful, pompous, pedantic twits such as yourself. :)

And for the record, the word is "epiphany". Obviously Bush needs to hock some of his commodes to give the budget for public education a helping hand as well, if we're going to use you as an example.
