New York Hearts Jessica

It's apparent Jessica Simpson's fame definitely hasn't faded since "Newlyweds" went off the air. The blonde bombshell is currently in New York promoting her new single "A Public Affair."

One of Simpson's stops included an appearance on MTV's TRL Wednesday afternoon where VJ Vanessa Minnillo was nowhere to be found (because of her current relationship with Nick Lachey? hmmmm). After the show hundreds and hundreds of fans with cell phone cameras in hand lined the streets and sidewalks to catch a glimpse of the pop star.

As Jessica left the building, the screaming erupted and police could only hold back the crazed crowd for a short while before the mob broke free and bum rushed the singer's bodyguards. Jessica was quickly rushed to the car as the swarm of people crushed in.

31. A marriage takes 2 people. No one knows exactly why Jess called a halt to the marriage - at least she has enough style not to drag it out into the tabloids. Nick used his for publicity just like his album! Without the breakup he wouldn;t have a career and without Jessicas many jobs he wouldn;t have the money he does. What work did nick do for those 3 years of married life. Even on the show he took several vacations with hus buddies to Cabo, Fiji, etc. Where was Jess? working, working, making money. Jess doesn't need him anymore, she is strong and her song and video are fantastic. Shows she has moved on with her life and just wants to have a good time. Be happy

33. The only reason nick is getting is 15 minutes to shine now is because he's banking on the divorce and milking it to sell his album. He's trying to get people to feel sorry for him for his album to sell.

Oh and by the way, his cd is starting to tank on the charts. It has sold around 430,000 copies and it's out of the top 50, albums rarely ever return to his album and it's been declining week by week. I see this album selling 700,000 ... and that's just because he sold out his divorce.

Jessica on the other hand, has stayed quiet about the divorce which I love and totally respect because it shows she takes it as a serious matter and she's not just trying to get publicity off of it like nick. In fact, it seems so far this year she has tried to stay out of the tabloids as much. Jessica's song is hot and the video is just even hotter! VIDEO OF THE YEAR for sure.

Team Jessica! Cant wait for the album!

34. she did such a fab job hosting, and i loved the video! i'm so happy, her video debuted at #6, the same position christina debuted at and a spot higher than where beyonce debuted! its soooooooooooo the best video on the countdown anyway, love you jess, you rock!

You mean to tell me that trl just had on Christina A. a couple of weeks ago and Beyonce on the show a couple of days ago and Jessica is the one that people are mobbing on the streets to get a glimpse of? How the hell could that be possible something doesn't sound right here she had to have paid people to chase her because there is no way this tabloid trash-reality star could be more popular than Beyonce and Christina! Please no one buy her music or see her movie especially since that money hungry pimp of a father is one of the producers of the movie. Go away Simpsons you are not liked any more!!!

45. Her new song is so awesome, really fun and dancy, and her video is hot too, it debuted at #6 on trl .... thats higher than beyonce & the same spot as christina! "A Public Affair" really is her best single ever, i've been a fan of jessica since 1999 and i love her so much more now! Its sad that so many people have sided with nick, despite the fact that he was the one who fooled around with strippers and college students. Not to mention hes selling jessica out just to get 5 or so minutes of fame.

Dont listen to the haters Jess, do your thing! Your album will be the best!
