WWE Smackdown: Wrestling Stars vs. Ohio Police

rob van dam

Unfortunately for Rob Van Dam, Ohio state trooper J.N. Baker is not a wrestling fan.

Trooper Baker pulled over the WWE star on July 2 for going 72 in a 55-mile-per-hour zone. Unfortunately for Van Dam -- whose real name is Robert Alex Szatowski -- Baker and his partner also smelled pot in the car, and slapped the wrestler with a misdemeanor citation for possessing marijuana and vicodin. Terry Michael Brunk, who goes by the wrestling name Sabu, was in the passenger seat of the car and also was cited. Brunk, who was wearing a cap picturing a marijuana leaf, admitted on the police tape that he had smoked dope before getting into the car.

When Van Dam tried to explain to the officer that he was on his way to a gig, the officer admitted "I don't follow wrestling." Later, Baker looked inside the driver's window and asked, "You always drive with your shirt off?"

16. What a dumb thing to do RVD was on top of the world having both WWE and ECW titles and he (F) it up by speeding and smoking pot . RVD is very lucky that wwe did not kick him out after speeding and cops smelling pot in the car and pills that Sabu had on him . I hope RVD and Sabu learned that drugs will get you no were in this world only jail time . And when he comes back I hope he gets the ECW title . What a really dumb thing he and Sabu did .

17. WWE's drug policy is on dont get caught rules. the only reason they got punished was that police arrested him. now if the government had a random blood test for wwe wrestlers, 90% of them would be cited for steriroid usage. with as little time as they get in the gym, it is not possible for most of them to have their figures without the roids. oh ya, one more thing. THE NEW ECW IS WWE OWNED AND CONTROLLED. The old ecw is dead. you may as well call the new ecw, tuesday night raw.

23. Anyone who followed RVD knows that he's a pothead. He was open about it in the old days of ECW with his nickname being RVD-420. And everyone knew that Sabu was on painkillers. HE DOESN'T GO TO THE HOSPITAL. Unless he's like, dying. He just tapes or crazy glues himself back together. No lie. Crazy people like that are guaranteed to be on drugs. I'm not condoning it, 'cuz it is the law and with deaths like the late Eddie Guererro's, you have to enforce the rulings you make, like wwe's no drug policy. Sorry Rob, you waited over a decade to (F) up.

25. I live in Battle Creek, Mi. Rob Van Dam's home town. My son did his kickbox training with Rob. I think it is sad that this is the image that Rob is protraying to the young people who follow wrestling. Drugs run rampant in the world today, our childrens athletic heroes shouldn't be sending the message that it's OK to smoke pot, pop pills, drink booze or do any other type of drug. When you are in the public eye...everyone watches..including the kids.

28. I think that what R V D and Subu Did was wrong but also the law didn't check to see if the pills they found was from a Dr. for the things they had been though the time they are doing thier job. they put thier body in harms way to put on a good show for the persons paying to wtach them night after night. so do not judge lest you be judged. Don't judge all because of this. This would not had made the papers if they was not stars look at all drunk drivers that are slap on the hand and put back on the road again to end up killing and then they stiil get back out and do it again. Wrong is wrong. Don't get me wrong I just think this way because I had a whole family of friends killed by a drunk drive and all he got was a year in jail here in Ohio. He is back out and still driving and drinking. what does this tell you about Ohio Laws???????

29. The cops could have let them go if he wanted to. I think the cop was looking to make a name for himself by busting the world champ.
