Lance Bass -- Out of the Closet

Lance Bass says he's gay and in a stable relationship with a reality show star.

Over the last few months, TMZ shot video of Bass and "Amazing Race" winner Reichen Lehmkuhl, and although there was a buzz the two were a couple, they went to considerable lengths not to be seen in the same shot. In one video, as they walked through a park in New York together and saw the cameras, they immediately separated.

Now, Bass reveals to People he is indeed gay and in a "very stable" relationship with Lehmkuhl.

Bass told People that he feared coming out while he was in the boy band 'N Sync because he felt "it would overpower everything."

The 27-year-old Bass, a Baptist, has already told his friends and his "shocked" family, according to the magazine.

Bass now says he's at peace with himself.

35. So Lance Bass is a homosexual? I don't think that is a shock to many people. That being said, Leave him alone now! You've all but forced him to come out, even though he says he was waiting for the right time(which I believe) now you've got the "scoop" and know that is gay, and dating Reichen,and blah blah blah. I am a heterosexual male, who is also in a "stable" relationship and I have been following this story, almost knowing the ending, only wondering would he come out? 42. The Press, must have gotten close. Because really, who cares! Why do these so call entertainers think that they are fooling us. I think most of them try to act as if they are protecting us. But in reality, they are saving their own career. If you are Gay, say you are. What difference did this story make. There is no group now. I am sure if you ask the other guys, about this. They would tell you they knew.

43. You know America is still a very homophobic country. I think Lance is very brave for coming out. I mean with all those gay cowards like Jake Gyllenhaal, Austin Nichols, and Neil Patrick Harris in the closet. Its nice to see a young gay man finally come out and be at peace with himself. It did take courage for Lance to come out and people need to lay off of him. He sounds like a very sensitive and considerate young man. He's from a southern baptist family I am sure his religion was heavy burden on him. I respect Lance a lot more than people like
George Michael who has sex in public parks and sex in public rest rooms.

44. Well I am pretty shocked my self, I mean this is totally news to me, I never would have thought. I liked n-sync and they had huge success. But gay or not gay, he still seems like a really decent guy. Doesn't seem too have a bad snobby attitude like some of the stars. Good for him, I am glad he came out, because now he and his partner can be at peace and feel like they have a weight lifted off their shoulders. I wish you guys all the best.
