Check Mate For Sheriff's in Gibson Case

Let me borrow a line from Mel Gibson's play book -- The L.A. County Sheriff's Department is f****d."

The Department has been caught in a huge lie that they now can't undo. My sources say the Sheriff's officials are scrambling at this very moment, trying to figure out what to do and the Sheriff himself, Lee Baca, has been involved from the outset (I'll explain more about this on Monday).

Here's the problem. The deputy who arrested Mel Gibson wrote an eight page report detailing Gibson's rants and aggressive conduct, but officials ordered the arresting deputy to sanitize his report, eliminating the four pages TMZ has posted on the web site. The sanitized report was signed and became the party line that the arrest occurred "without incident." That is a blatant lie -- a lie the Sheriff's department never thought would be exposed.

When I first called a Sheriff's spokesman to comment on the story we were about to publish, he told me I was "wrong" and the story was "erroneous." When he said that, I had plenty of information but I was not in physical possession of the four phantom pages.

When I finally got the documents and called the spokesman back, his response changed. He said when the case is presented to the D.A. it will have all the information about the case. Do you see how that begs the question? Of course, now it will have all the information because we exposed the Sheriff and Mel Gibson.

This was a cover up and there's no way of getting around it. The Sheriff said it happened "without incident" and that's just a blatant lie. Now there's an official, signed report that does not have the information TMZ has published, so something's rotten in Denmark.

As far as I know, the arresting deputy has not even re-written the information in this new "supplemental report" that for some reason was supposed to be locked in the watch commander's safe.

The Sheriff didn't get this sloppy overnight. Clearly many celebrities must have gone where Mel Gibson did on Friday. We have more information that we will publish on Monday, but The L.A. County Sheriff's Department must be investigated.

17. If that is his JOB, he needs to get a new job where he'll be able to sleep at night. Virtually all of the media is bullsh**. We honestly would never know what's accurate and what's not (they are probably doctoring the "newest" report too). We let overselves get brainwashed by the "media" without ever figuring out how to think for ourselves.

18. The fact of the matter is that Mel Gibson is not above the law. Our law enforecement should not change anything to help him and his career. Also, if celebrities want to have more political and social "voice" then they better be prepared to deal with the consequences of their actions and lives. They should not receive freebies (especially from the government) that none of us do, and that allow them to continue in their hypocrisy.

19. Thank You Thank you thank you. I had to deal with the Sherriffs department a couple months ago(and still do) for a dui charge. The two cops who arrested me decided to make up for some lost masculinity somewhere down the line by throwing me (a woman) against my car and handcuffing me just for asking why I was being arrested, however, I guess they didn't realize how hard they threw me against my car because my tooth went through my lip and my face ended up all bloody and then they tried to cover up the whole thing with a doctored up police report and dui charges without any evidence despite my asking for them to give me a blood test or any other. They have made my life absolutely nightmarish just to save themselves because they are afriad I will file a civil suit. The la county sherriffs department is completely corrupt and scary and I am glad someone finally has the balls to do and say something. Thank you!

20. Who is the TMZ? Many of the editorials here appear as if they're written by teenagers. Are they? I am seriously asking that question. The depth of immaturity reflected in many of the editorials here is astounding. And to think that TMZ is somehow connected with AOL, who I believed to be a legitimate, professional company. It's really strange. I suppose being a successful company and having the ability to reach millions of people with news and opinions does not automatically make a company professional and mature. That's too bad. Shame on me for reading this stuff. Maybe I should look into another Internet provider. If this is a teenager site, I wish that it was designated as such and not linked on the AOL Welcome screen.

The British didn't carve up the Holy Land. They created Jordan out of Trans-Jordan to have a place to give the Hashimite Dynasty after the Saudi's ran them out of Mecca. The British tried to turn the Palestinian Mandate over to the Palestinians, but were beaten militarily by the Zionists. When the Mandidate expired, Israel declared its independance, and the U. S. instantly recognized it.

Why? We felt then, and do now, that having a "friendly Western" nation in the middle of the chaotic Middle East was to our advantage. Just like we have constantly courted Turkey because it owns the door to Russia's under belly and Greece because it controls the sea access to that door. We are on excellent terms with Oman and the United Arab Emirates, because they partially control the Straits of Hormuz. Iran concerns us because it controls the other side of those straits.

None of this has anything to do with Jew, Arab, Christian, Moslem, whatever, and everything to do with world's strongest nation positioning itself to control strategic world positions. All great nations have always done it, and all great nations always will. It's how great nations stay great nations.

The process is messy from time to time, but far better it be messy in someone elses country than our own. Does that sound cold? It is, and you and I enjoy the benefits of it every day of our lives.

Is it just me, or does it bother anyone else that this information is getting out?
If your wife or father were pulled over for a DUI because they were looped would you want their behavior( which would be embarrising no doubt) made public? Even those Cops shows try to conceal the identity of the drunk, drugged up morons on that show. I dont know but it seems like a lot of people want to punish Celebs arrogant behavior with a great big. SEE YOUR NOT PERFECT!!!!
Its not their fault that they are the most over paid, over praised people on earth.
Many of them would admit that freely, but bottom line they are human like me and you , and they have problems too. This story will go away when he enters "Re-Hab" And for goodness sakes lets not give any more light to this JEWS ,PALESTINE, HIZBOLLAH Mess. It just encourages the thugs.

23. Until last week I would have been outraged by Gibson's Jewish comments. However, I now agree with his characterization of the Jews after seeing Israel attack civilians and engage in Terrorism against the innocent Lebanese people, UN officials, the Red Cross, women, and children. He was speaking the truth, but I don't expect the Jewish-controlled media to play that spin. Its funny that when Muslims attack it is called Terrorism, but when its an Ally of the US it is called the "war on Terror." It is ALL TERRORISM. Way To Go Mel Gibson! Get your facts straight, please. It was not the "occupation" of Palestine by the Jews (which is not an occupation, actually, both countries were offered land in the beginning and Palestine just wanted to kill all the Jews instead) that caused the 9/11 destruction of the World Trade Center. It was the Muslim extremists who wished to kill everyone and anyone who doesn't agree with Islam. You can be sure that if all the Jews were gone, and Israel as well, it would be the western world next (Europe and the U.S.A.).

Try reading actual facts in history for a change instead of making up fantasy tales.

As for Mel Gibson, I have always loved his films and it's so hard to believe that this is his real identity, of hating Jews...supposedly before he made "Passion of the Christ" he went around to several Jewish groups to try and get an unbiased and unprejudiced version of the film. This is really sad news if this whole report is true, both for Christians and Jews.

25. It is no big deal the arrest report was to be edited and shortened. Eight pages is way too long for any DUI arrest. Also the rantings of an inebriated actor didn't even need to be in the report. If he resisted arrest (as the report states) why wasn't he charged for that? If he threatened the officer (as officer states) why not charge him with threats? If he was speeding as cops say, why no charges?
It is the cop who went beserk writing a BOOK on a DUI arrest. People arrested while drunk often start ranting and any cop w/integrity would be used that that and most certainly not include every rant in report. Gibson will win this case now,
and have grounds to sue as well. Why two breath tests? So many suspicious aspects to this arrest, it may end thrown out. Also .12 is not extraordinarily high.
There was no "cover-up" Mr. Levin. Unless Gibson is charged with hate speech,
his rants have no bearing on DUI case. But TMZ will get attention you have always sorely craved.

26. Oh, and Danial? Also please get your facts straight. Most of all the people killed in Lebanon are Hizbollah (see "Terrorists" in the dictionary). The Hizbollah were using the U.N. post as a base; also they paint the red cross on their cars to make it look like they are the Red Cross. Kofi Annan never gave the order to get the UN personnel out of there either, with bombs dropping around them.

And what about all the Israelis being killed, their homes and businesses bombed? When this first started, the Hezbollah fired off a thousand rockets to Haifa and other areas and haven't stopped. A fifteen-year old girl was killed yesterday in Israel -- but I guess that's OKAY WITH YOU, DANIAL-- after all, she was only Jewish right??? (read sarcasm here)

27. I doubt there is a media conspiracy to "get" Mel Gibson. I give TMZ credit for finding out the truth. If I got stopped by the police, drunk and going 35 mph over the speed limit, I'd still be in jail and I would lose my job. If I was as obnoxious as he was, I'd likely have gotten a couple whacks with a police baton. If Mel is going to position himself as a purveyor of religious truth, its newsworthy to know of his anti-semitism. I love his movies but he's not above the law and as a celebrity who has used his celebrity to promote his personal and political views his criminal activity is fair game for the media.

28. Who cares if the Sheriff department covers this incident up . Its not like anyone was injured or murdered . This is a small incident that is getting blown out of proportion just like everything else the media in America gets their hands on .

Yes he is famous and should be more responsible of his actions but he is a human being that makes mistakes like we all do .

Ease up on this story and give the guy a break .

29. Now I see the real reason behind Mel Gibson's movie Passion of Christ. It was not to show the agony of Christ on the cross, but to show that the Jews were to blame for his death. Some Jews tried to tell us that but we wouldn't listen. We were all taken in by this man and his movie, especially those of us who "Truly " love Jesus Christ. We already knew that the whole Jewish race should not be and cannot be blamed for the actions of a few. But what will those who do not know Christ believe? They wlll believe as Mel Gibson who just showed his true colors. Yes he should be dealt with by what happened in LA by LA judges, but he also faces judgement by a HIGHER AUTHORITY.
