Check Mate For Sheriff's in Gibson Case

Let me borrow a line from Mel Gibson's play book -- The L.A. County Sheriff's Department is f****d."

The Department has been caught in a huge lie that they now can't undo. My sources say the Sheriff's officials are scrambling at this very moment, trying to figure out what to do and the Sheriff himself, Lee Baca, has been involved from the outset (I'll explain more about this on Monday).

Here's the problem. The deputy who arrested Mel Gibson wrote an eight page report detailing Gibson's rants and aggressive conduct, but officials ordered the arresting deputy to sanitize his report, eliminating the four pages TMZ has posted on the web site. The sanitized report was signed and became the party line that the arrest occurred "without incident." That is a blatant lie -- a lie the Sheriff's department never thought would be exposed.

When I first called a Sheriff's spokesman to comment on the story we were about to publish, he told me I was "wrong" and the story was "erroneous." When he said that, I had plenty of information but I was not in physical possession of the four phantom pages.

When I finally got the documents and called the spokesman back, his response changed. He said when the case is presented to the D.A. it will have all the information about the case. Do you see how that begs the question? Of course, now it will have all the information because we exposed the Sheriff and Mel Gibson.

This was a cover up and there's no way of getting around it. The Sheriff said it happened "without incident" and that's just a blatant lie. Now there's an official, signed report that does not have the information TMZ has published, so something's rotten in Denmark.

As far as I know, the arresting deputy has not even re-written the information in this new "supplemental report" that for some reason was supposed to be locked in the watch commander's safe.

The Sheriff didn't get this sloppy overnight. Clearly many celebrities must have gone where Mel Gibson did on Friday. We have more information that we will publish on Monday, but The L.A. County Sheriff's Department must be investigated.

91. Well, well,I have to give TMZ.COM a big pat on the back for having the courage to expose the sheriffs department for in what appears to be a cover up.And Mel Gibson will not collect a nickle for being arrested.Sounds like he deserves to have additional charges filed on him.
As far as the Jews go,I am not jewish but I must remind everyone that Jesus himself was a Jew and it was Gods plan for Jesus to die on the cross for our sins and for certain Jewish leaders of the time to play a part in his death, if one chooses to believe the Bible.
So when we go around hating the jews and blaming them for all the worlds problems we are hating Jesus who is a Jew and showing our ignorance and stupidity.
I myself will take a Jew anytime over the Radical Islamic Killers that want to destroy all the Jews and Christians.I hope and pray the Jews kill as many of them as God will allow.
God bless the Jews and God bless TMZ.COM.

92. Having been raised in a family that dealt with alcoholism on a daily basis (my dad), I can tell you that it IS a disease that takes control of the person. It makes them say and do things they'd never say or do when sober. Period. HOWEVER, they are obviously still responsible for their actions - Mel needs to get his butt to AA.
It's sad that even before this all happened he was saying his life was f(#*ed, he must really feel f(#*ed now.
As for the sherrif's office wanting to clean-up the report, while I think it's wrong, given the current situation in Israel - I don't really blame them. Why does the entire world need to know what a raging alcoholic says? Sure, maybe it's not the same treatment you or I would receive under the circumstances - but if we said crap like that, CNN isn't going to get wind of it - nor would they or anyone else really care. When we look at celebrities under a microscope, sometimes we're going to see stuff we don't like. Maybe it's time to turn the microscope on ourselves before we round up the lynching party.

93. To the ignoramous, Dave Sanders, who ranted about "Jews" owning the media and being at the cause of Sept 11th... Please tell me you are kidding and don't actually believe the stupidity you are spewing. Hmm so Sept 11 is the Jews fault, not the terrorists who flew planes into the building. And Jews run the media, but if you were intelligent enough to read the NY Times you would see just how non "pro Jewish" it is, though owned by Jewish people. Oh and for your information, the Israeli army is fighting terrorism...You call them Jews - Judaism is a religion.

Get a life, man. Read something. Educate yourself.

94. True the LA Police dept has been corrupt for a long time as police depts are across the country.
I do not know what really happened except Mel was drunk and arrested. He was evidently speeding too. I saw the four pages posted on here. I am curious if those 4 pages are real and were attained in some manner why aren't the first 4 pages posted?
It doesn't prove a thing except they are 4 of 8 pages on someone with the name Gibson. They don't have a header that they are from that police dept.
I think people should have an open mind and then make noise which ever way it goes. I have alot of Jewish friends and my son in law is Jewish but it is when things like this are put in the news that they will bring out their flags.
I think Mel might have brought up some interesting things people need to investigate if they want to know if they are true. You would be surprised.

95. Since Mel Gibson has abjectly apologized for making the remarks, it's pretty clear that he made them.

The officer first had to subdue Mr. Gibson from fleeing the scene! Then he made threatening remarks and gestures in the squad car to such an extent that the office requested backup to be ready when he arrived at the police station. The anti-Semitic rant has more to do with evidencing Gibson's unstable and volatile behavior rather than with exposing his political views. The "sweet t*ts" remark to an observing female officer is simply astounding.

But the most astounding part is the rationale for the Sheriff''s Department's original whitewash of the police report: that it would make matters worse in the Middle East if Mel Gibson was shown to be Anti-Semitic! Is that a joke??

I will say only one more thing. The minute law enforcement officers are seen as liars, their credibility disappears in the courtroom. Moral of the story: tell the truth in the first place. O.J. Simpson, anyone?

96. The guy made Braveheart and the Passion for crying out loud. Just because he is saying what he feels doesn't make him a bad person. I'm just happy to hear someone actually comdeming Isreal for a change, I was pretty sure every American wanted to take over the world with them by bombing every beautiful city in the middle East.
Mel certainly has a brave heart for saying how he feels, especially in Hell Ay where most of the head honchos are Jewish. That being said, I don't think the stereotype is healthy because I know a lot of Jews that are disgusted with the Ireali regime and what it stands for.

98. I am glad that his comments and the special treatment he got has been exposed. I am however shocked that one of the viewers posted a comment that is as stupid as Gibson's remarks and said that the World Trade Center was destroyed because of the Jewish people.

99. Hey SETH ( jewish name) try to look at the world through unbiased eyes and you will see the truth. Was Isreal defending itself against unarmed U.N. peace keepers, women, children and the elderly. Look at the lives lost. Human lives are not collateral damage.
You are a Moron

100. Niarchos Starvos, Daniel Baldwin, Paris Hilton, Robert Downey Jr., and I'm probably missing a few others. What do they all have in common? They were all given HUGE breaks in circumstances that would have me or you behind bars.

Paris runs from the with sirens and flashing lights turned on. No arrest.
Starvos leaves a club, drives his car into a truck, (this after a night on the town with Paris -- maybe a few cocktails?) We'll never know. The arresting officers did not give him a breathalizer.

Daniel Baldwin does 80 mph down Wilshire Blvd, hits two cars on a suspended license, (after being arrested on drug possesion charges in Santa Monica a week or so earlier). No field sobriety test was deemed necessary.

Robert Downey Jr., arrested while methed out, but let off to finish a movie, and he has a bad relapse. He was given so many chances that I wouldn't be given, I lost track!

If this is not reason for a federal review of the LA Sheriff's Dept., then I don't know what more has to happen. The police in this town apply laws differently to celebrities and it's simply not fair. The Law is the Law and should be applied equally. I don't know how many conversations I've had with people (here in LA on this topic) and it's always the same. "Had that been me or you..." Why the hell should that even be a mitigating factor? If these people put themselves in the limelight on purpose, then they must know their mistakes are going to be out there as well. You see, it's part of the trade off.

I am personally very angry that we don't have fair justice in LA county and it is a known fact, could be proven in a court of law, and personally, having have gone through a DUI myself, feel that I should get my fines and attorney fees back because had I been a celebrity, I could've just gone home and slept off my liquor.
Oh, and there was the time from the job taken for the mandatory community service, and mandatory AA "classes" I had to take spanning over a period of two months. I want all that refunded. I want it back and feel I could prove my case in win (with interest).

101. Sorry, but why in the world would I believe "an eight page rant" that the LAPD arresting officer wrote up for a drunk stop report? Eight pages???? Was there eight pages when they finally stopped OJ in the white bronco? We love Mel, he is one of a kind. Sure, I believe he was drunk ( the law should come right out and state that we can only drink and smoke in our homes and hide the keys from ourselves.) I know for sure he was speeding. I don't doubt he could get out of handcuffs, try to flee, maybe jump over a squad car or two in barefeet. And after a few drinks, I bet he did get pissed off he got pulled over, and starting giving the officer some lip. But I am sure this was not Mel's BIG CHANCE to throw out a "barrage of anti Semitic remarks." There was no barrage of anti semitic remarks. He's a celebrity, in the public eye, and the press or whoever has to gotta make Mel Gibson getting his second DUI a little more interesting,so they pull out this anti semitism thing, again.. Try to make him look bad before he releases another contraversial movie. Maybe the arresting officer (or friends of) were pissed off that the Passion did better than the DiVinci Code at the box office! That is about as far fetched as this whole thing sounds. Ok, Mel likes to drink, drive fast and is a smooth talker..that's why we love him. Too bad about DUI, they should treat that offense fairly. But lay off the religion and politics, it is ANNOYING. I was pretty pissed off waking up on July 29th(my 48th birthday), to read that Mel got a DUI, I had to change birthday plans.

103. WHAT GETS ME ABOUT GIBSON AND MANY OF THE COMMENTS, IS THE LEVEL OF CRITICISM OF JEWS, FOR BEING. THERE ARE MANY REASONS....ISRAEL...JUST DON'T LIKE THEM. THIS IS NOT A NEW THING, RATHER A CONTINUING PHENOMENA. IT STARTED ABOUT 500 AD AND HAS CONTINUED, IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER, TO TODAY. IT IS ASSUMMED THAT JEWS ARE EVEN THE CAUSE OF THE WAR IN IRAQ, ALONG WITH MOST OF THE USA. IT SEEMS TO BE LIKE A FUNGI THAT ALWAYS CREEPS UP IN THE ABSENCE OF LIGHT

105. Mel Gibson is the bravest man in America. Gibson used his own money to make "Passion," about the last hours in the life of our prophet Jesus Christ, because no jewish Hollywood studio would back him. The 2004 film went on to be a major hit and gross more than $611 million at global box offices, despite the zionists jews accusing him of anti-semitism. Now they are accusing him again for speaking-out and telling the truth "the jews are responsible for all the wars in the world"
