47. OK -- so he's a drunk and a putz. What bothers me here is that everytime some "hero" like Gibson shows anti-Semitism and is called on it, some other putz will come forward to support him with a further Anti-Semitic screed. It makes you feel warm and fuzzy all over to see what comes out of the woodwork in such situations.

49. I love Mel Gibson. I don't like the fact that Harvey Levin and others are persecuting him. Harvey Levin is now like a Paparazzi -- and Mel Gibson made a film about that didn't he !!! Mel Gibson has entertained me more than any Paparazzi including Harvey Levin. I was raised in a Jewish community and the kids I grew up with were often "painful" to my emotional and physical state! No lie. We weren't Jewish. But most of the people on the block were. Back then we had a cleaning lady who was black. Well since those days many of us whitey's have battled the prejudices taught out grand parents. Our parents were les and less prejudice. Thank GOD for the Kennedy's kickin some Southern smuck's butt...that bum Wallace. We all grew up a little once the FED stepped up and in.
No one is perfect and eveyone is doing the best they can. And yeah I still feel upset that my best Jewish friends tossed me in a ditch where I hit my dead on a pipe. But I forgave them. (Though I never forgot). And in school we were taught how bad the Nazi's were to Jews but they failed to mention how manyother people were hurt and killed like the polish...not just 6 million were killed...many more millions were killed..many!!!! The Jewish people are smart. I like sex with them. Why is there still prejudice? Fear! Are they more agressive than other tribes? More insecure? More intelligent? I don't know. But no one isperfect. Not me, not Jewish brethern, not Christian brethern not Muslim Brethern...none are perfect. Flaws in all cultures possibly hindo and buddist too. Probably. Who has all the money and wealth? Who doesn't share with the little guy? Who keeps Bush in office???? These are the questions to ask. Mel Gibson got drunk. Big deal. I know of no perfect cop either. Don't let this Catholic smuck get harrassed to excess just because he is a goy some think are antijewish...he isn't that. He is too cool to be that. Even I have to fight every day against my fear and prejudices I thought I once conquered..the Overpopulation caused by Catholics, Christians, and other morons who can't conceive of just bringing in two per family. The Mexican mafia and the Jewish Defence League and Police Protectionists ALL are accountable. STOP THE WAR IN THE MIDDLE EAST. Or we all burn in the mental institution of Earth. 50. What Mel Gibson said while drunk was probably a good reflection of his true feelings. What's important here is not what one obviously crude, ignorant and racist famous person said, but what he represents. Mel, like many people throughout the world are influenced by racist propaganda that they get from their relatives, friends and the media. We get shocked when we see racism appear where we least expect to see it. We thought that only the obviously unworldly and terribly ignorant could have such views. We thought that modern worldly people would know better than to believe the tired old racist lies. No, unfortunately, large segments of our world today are still infected with the same incredibly sick beliefs that men like Hitler had and used to start WWII. How sad!

51. It is good that your organization is "watching dogging" the LA Sheriff's office, so they will be held accountable for their actions and come clean regarding the DUI arrest of Mel Gibson. And Mel Gibson should be held accountable for DUI just as any other citizen would be held accountable.

All information including the nasty remarks by Mel Gibson should be available for the public to review, whether they are anti-semitic or sexist. For, as we must remember, whether someone is or is not drunk, when they speak, what they say is a true reflection of what one is thinking and or feeling.

As part of his sentence for DUI and his nasty mouth, a visit to the Museum of Tolerance might be in order, in addition to community service.

Not a single person being so very critical of Gibson right now can lay claim to being the perfect human. Not one, I'll betcha, can honestly say they have NEVER used a racist slur, or looked sideways at someone of a different race.

I'm of Asian & Hawaiian descent (Actually mixed) and have endured racism all my life. In the 70's & 80's I swear my friends Fathers held me responsible for Pearl Harbor!
However, I Thought I was so wonderfully non-racist myself, accepting of all cultures. But unfortunately, I admit to sometimes falling into the deep dark crevasse of racism in my reactions to some people and what they say. or do.

So, lay off Mr. Gibson, and get your own house in order.

By the way....those of you who are so eager to kick the man...
Let me know when YOU'RE DOWN...so I can return the favor....for Mel.

Removing comments tends to substantiate the premise: that TMZ, and Harvey Levin, are behaving here with cause. As in, underlying motive to harm Gibson.

I think it's time for the general public -- certainly for urban Los Angeles and particularly the entertainment industry -- to get counselling themselves and iron out all the various misunderstandings (perhaps, projections) as to what "anti-semitism" actually is.

It's not "anti-semitic" to say something that refers negatively to a person or persons who are Jewish. Is it "anti-gentile" for a Jew to denounce Christ?

There is much hyper-sensitivity in -- particularly, the entertainment industry -- about "anti-anything trendy" speech or comments that refer to whatever or whomever or behaviors or affiliations.

I hate to be the bearer or reality here, but there ARE offensive people who may or may not be Jews. To state that is not "anti-semitic" and it's time the entire hate-speech (yes, it's hate-speech to accuse someone of something as palpable as "anti-semitism" with little regard for what that actually is or whether or not it's being accurately used) trend in this regard was reeled-in. It's really gotten out of hand.

I think the "Semites" of our world have begun to exhaust this meme. Not all criticisms of "Jews" is "anti-semite" in nature, motive, intent nor content. Get over it.

Saying, "f*****g Jews" while drunk in reference to what's going on in our world today is, actually, relative, however offensive the use of words there may be. It's not to say the "Jews" are the only culpable party or people in our world's situation (they certainly aren't, to state the obvious), but given what's taking place today, Gibson's drunken rant was indicative of the frustration and tension many of us feel about the Middle East. About EVERYone in the Middle East. That includes "Jews," for those in denial.

If I could speak to Mr. Gibson I would say this: Mel - I am a middle class Southern American who has a family, loves the United States, pays his taxes, does volunteer work is staunchly conservative and who also happens to be Jewish. I am sorry that you feel this way about a whole group of people who are the descendents of Jesus and the disciples, who you claim to love.

I don't think Jesus or any other conscious Jew or any Christian would approve of your hate filled behavior. Clearly by your actions you don't think too much of yourself either.

You are a good actor and director and I have seen your movies although I will not be going to them anymore. I really wanted to believe the rumors about you were not true but now the cat is out of the bag. Perhaps with some real effort, however, you can change and I would welcome that.

I hope you get better and make amends for your behavior. It will, however, be difficult to trust anything you say in the future.
