Bulletin -- Prosecutors Reviewing Gibson Case

Mel GibsonTMZ has learned the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has sent the L.A. County District Attorney the Mel Gibson case for review. The D.A. will decide whether to file driving under the influence charges, a misdemeanor, against Gibson.


The D.A. could also file charges of resisting arrest if the evidence warrants. That charge could be filed as either a misdemeanor or a felony, depending on the circumstances. As TMZ reported, Gibson attempted to flee the scene of his arrest but was subdued by the deputy.

Gibson's next scheduled court date is September 28.

No timetable on when the D.A. will make its decision.

91. With all that's going on around the world, I say enough is enough. Aren't there any more important stories to cover? I know, if I don't like the story, don't read it. Hey, it's all over the news. You can't help but hearing about poor Mel or reading about it. Let Mel show his true character by letting him work through is addiction himself. Let him go to rehab, let him proclaim to himself and those he has hurt that he is an alcoholic. Let him make peace with himself and those who he has hurt. As for his career, let him make movies. We don't have to go see them or support him. That is our right.......... I wish Mel the very best. As a recovering alcoholic myself, I just say to Mel, Hey Mel, just don't pick up the first drink and get to some AA meetings. You'll make out fine. And, if you don't make another movie, that's OK. There's other things in life that can be just as rewarding...........

93. I think the reason Mel Gibson lashed out at the Jews is because the have been hammering him and trying to ruin him since Passion was released, no wonder he's bitter. Hollywood has been out to get Gibson since Passion and when that didn't work now they stoop to trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Nice try! But it probably won't work. We're behind you Mel.
