Celebrity Justice
Mel Gibson: Malibu's Finest

Mel GibsonAmid rumblings that Mel Gibson received preferential treatment from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, a public service announcement that Gibson taped on their behalf has surfaced.

The PSA was recorded back in 2002 on behalf of a sheriff's charity, The Los Angeles Sheriff's Star Organization (LASSO).

In the spot, Gibson, dressed in a sheriff's uniform, pulls over Scott Baio to thank him for supporting LASSO. He implores viewers, "Give back to those who give so much."

17. Well since I have to be selective in my comments I'll just say this then.

The Jews are not a meek people like some of you ignorant people would like to believe. They have commited genecide of other cultures that didn't believe their way, all in the name of god they claimed. just read the old testiment. they even sacrificed their children and then had the gaul to then in the same breath say that whosoever shall harm a child should put a millstone around their neck and walk into the ocean. the jews are full of hypocrisisy but no one ever calls them on it.

The gays and Liberal Democrates using the Jews Destroyed Rome and It is happening again here in our country either we must curb these wankers or destroy them under our very feet before we as a nation suffer the same fate as one of the greatest empires of all time.

Long live the republic of the people who live with honor and morals.

18. Mel, I feel your pain. I've said some messed up things while drunk. I'm sure you deserve to be forgiven, just like the rest of us.

19. you know...nobody who claims to be "christian" is claiming to be perfect. People stumble...people have faults.....everyone has something they struggle with. Thank the Lord Jesus that God does not treat our mistakes and sins the way humans do. otherwise...we would be in HUGE trouble.

20. We all make mistakes & say things we don't mean (especially when some of us have been drinking). However, why is it that we continually persecute anyone who is simply stating that which is fact..?

21. First, I'd like to say this is supposedly a free country and I think that Mel has the RIGHT to express himself whether people like it or not. This "P C" crap is nothing more than control - "think like we think or else" and whoever doesn't is smeared and ruined. What happened to OUR RIGHTS?? Wny and who is focusing on his every word - for the purpose of destroying him? Further, I've seen many, many celebrities arrested for drunk driving or worse and no one has ever said a word about what THEY were saying!! I don't see anyone criticizing the fornicating, adulterous Pitt/Jolie mess which is sickening to me and should be to everyone. But they're going to zero in on Mel - they've just been waiting for anything to get him for since The Passion.

He's a good man and while yes he did make a mistake by driving drunk - let's keep in mind he's human and we all flawed - let 's move on and let him alone to face his family - who I am sure are hurting over this. Thanks

22. I'm baffled by the notion that anyone is calling out for Mel Gibson to be censored. No one's denying his right to say what he did, they're only suggesting that he needs to be held accountable. Free speech means that you're free to say it, but it doesn't mean that your free from the acts repercussions.

23. Last time I checked this was still a free country and he has the RIGHT to think and say anything he wants! We, the people, are not married to the man and every person in the news does not have to be 'sanitized', squeaky clean, boring. Not everyone has to love jews or hate jews or black people or white people etc. You get the idea.

We just have to live together without violence and what the press is doing to Mel is tandamount to violence! The press is destroying this man's life! Mel got drunk, said things he says he didn't mean. Drunk people are known to do that (and Ari and Foxman and Levin have done it too!) I say "Leave the man alone and let him make movies. He's good at that!"

Why is it that Foxman et al, the biggest contributors to this thing staying alive in print, has suffered nada? THEY're the ones spreading the hate! Foxman obviously hates anything and everyone that is not jewish! Why does he get slack and Mel does not?

Our society has it's priorities all wrong.

24. The people who want to blow this off-I have to tell you-as a Jew this feels pretty crappy. You have know idea how lucky you all are to be alive and safe. Its a guy like this creature gibson that starts the wars, not the Jews.

25. Free speech aside, Mel Gibson has a perfect right to be a jerk while drunk.

Hel-lo alcoholism.

(but who doesn't know drunken tongues speak sober thoughts.)

Will the department protect him?

26. I say protesters band together across the street for his next big movie premiere wearing matching t-shirts say: "What do you think you're looking at, sugar tits?" lol Never let him live it down. Too bad Jay Leno and David Letterman can't use the term in their late night monologues.

27. Who is this Kelly Phillips guy? If youre going to insult people, learn how to spell. AS for the Jews being the instigators of all the worlds wars, problems, and ills remember the adage, it takes two to tango. Even if you believe that all of these problems are started by the jews, which is ridiculous in its own right, how could any major conflict or problems arise without the irresponsible and often exaggerated response of others?

Additionally trying to hold "the Jews" responsible for the worlds problems is like saying that all arabs are terrorists, or all Irishmen are drunks, or all white christians are white supremacists. Clearly this is not the case. I am not saying that there are no bad or evil Jews, but you certainly cannot believe that all Jews are that way.

29. It’s amazing to me how everyone is so judgmental. A person, Jesus forgives and forgets and asks us to do the same. He made a mistake. He said some offensive things. Everyone makes mistakes. I’m praying for his recovery and for all you who carry negativity around in your heart. People from all religions especially Christians, which I happen to be, are taught to forgive each other and seek out the positive.
