Mel Gibson: Malibu's Finest

Mel GibsonAmid rumblings that Mel Gibson received preferential treatment from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, a public service announcement that Gibson taped on their behalf has surfaced.

The PSA was recorded back in 2002 on behalf of a sheriff's charity, The Los Angeles Sheriff's Star Organization (LASSO).

In the spot, Gibson, dressed in a sheriff's uniform, pulls over Scott Baio to thank him for supporting LASSO. He implores viewers, "Give back to those who give so much."

121. Well, well! Yet another who believes they have proprietary knowledge little known to others. Belief structures largely enforced by another or larger body. In Mel's case, possibly his father and or his ultraconservative sect. Maybe his own!

To understand "The hidden", one must answer questions with many questions until tapestry of probability forms, then extrapolate from known and probable quanta that which is most probable. And even then keeping conclusions "on the back burner" pending new information.

Conspiracies abound...yet few get it right. Falsehoods and Red herrings for everyone, so that few will know how or where to look for the truth, even if it's available for knowing. Circles within circles...Some will call my words ranting's of a crazed mind given to disenfranchised, disassociating thought processes. Some will understand. Which are you?

Many answer's are right on the retail bookshelves. Revelations of the past not contemporaneously revealed proximal to their unfolding, yet revealed decades or centuries later.

No, anti-Semitism is "not" legitimate! Yes, the Holocaust "did" happen! To many absolutes to conclude otherwise. Was Jesus "God"? Was he translated? Is there a Heaven? I sure as hell hope so! I choose to lean that way. A true God would allow, even invite scrutiny. "Come, let us reason together" comes to mind. Divine truth? Or inspired thought scribed by ancients? Certainly a transcendent concept, independent of language, creed, and certainly a bearer of meaning as opposed to an agent of meaning.

Is the world on brink of a sea change or paradigm shift? For the good? I hope so.

122. I believe that if everyone would stop pointing their fingers at others' mistakes and start spending their spare time working on sorting out their own mistakes and making things in their own lives right this world would take a huge step in the right direction. Many, many people find this life very difficult to navigate and make poor choices as they go along. The popular culture does not help. I don't know the details of Mel Gibson's personal life. Do you? He is obviously in pain on the inside, but do any of us know his personal demons?
Look at yourselves. Where do you need to make amends? Where have you made bad choices? Everyone has made errors that need to be corrected in some way. Study the mistakes of others so that you don't need to repeat them in your life, but there is no need for the public at large to take everything so personally. Do the right thing in your own personal sphere. How are your relationships? Are they excellent: loving, caring, responsible, growing, uplifting? How are your children doing? What do they really need from you and are you giving it every day? How about your personal neighbor? Is there someone who needs your help, your compassion, your ear? How are your parents doing? I believe that we desperately need to keep focused on the right things in our lives and help to make the world a better place. Don't take the road of apathy and hopelessness, believing that there is no reason to put forth the effort. The "who cares?" attitude is a downward spiral, even though it is popular. Don't follow the crowd, focusing on others when we should be taking care of our own. We can only change our own lives. Do it!

123. As a child survivor of the HOLOCAUST, and one who speaks to thousands each year on the subject, to students, church groups, civic groups and our military, I can tell that Mel Gibson is just like his father, a holocaust denier and an anti semite, like father like son!!!!Visit my website at....jackadler.com.....

124. Mel Gibson, a great actor, but not good enough to hide his hatered towards the people of the Jewish fate, just like his father, who denies the HOLOCAUST.

125. I READ SO MANY COMMENTS FROM PEOPLE NATIONWIDE REGARDING
THE JEWS OWNING THIS AND THAT, WELL LETS WONDER WHY? YEARS AGO
BEFORE THE HOLOCAUST, MANY PRIVATE SCHOOLS, PRIVATE CLUBS
AND LARGE COMPANIES WOULDN'T EVEN DREAM ABOUT LETTING A JEW
IN THERE ORGANIZATION . SO THE JEWS HAD TO DO IT FOR THEMSELVES. PEOPLE YOUNG AND OLD TODAY HAVE LOTS OF HATRED AND ON TOP OF IT THEY HAVE THE BALLS TO GO TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY. I WONDER WHY WHEN PEOPLE HAVE MISFORTUNE AND ILLNESS THEY ASK THEMSELVES
WHY ME!
WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND!

126. Freedom of speech. But the Jews will take advantage of his comments and keep claiming they are all "victims". The real truth is that the Jews are victimizing everybody else about the anti-semitism (i.e. silence any opposition) as well as monetary ($3 billion to Israel in "aid" every year of our hard-earned tax money so they can commit war crimes (which by the way is ignored in the congress which is under the spell of Jewish lobbies and bribery money).

127. Wow, this is interesting.
kelly phillips, i wish you would elaborate on how the "Liberal Democrates [sic] and Faggots [spelled differently elsewhere in your post] and Jews Destroyed Rome along time ago." Do you know that Rome in fact sacked Judaea? The Arch of Titus in Rome shows the emperor hauling back the spoils, including a massive menorah, vel. sim.

But seriously, I really want to know how Liberal Democrat(e)s destroyed Rome. Wait, wait! This just in---"Democrats build time machine to destroy Roman Empire (which was, btw, already down with with homosexuality) in order to inflict LATIN upon millions of unsuspecting schoolchildren in America's distant future. Word has it that even George W. Bush will be able to form syntactically correct sentences as soon as the Liberals (taking a cue from W on torture) employ their Latin Declension-ray."

128. Ranting and raving while under the influence are common. Whether the opinions Mel expressed are true or not it is just unfortunate they are public. Stress and anger and booze can inspire some wild statements. Rock on Mel and get well. Best wishes!!!!

My response is to recommend that you read the original post more carefully.

130. Why is Gibson's case put out on a public display for the world to see. Actually, it was time and time again suggested to Gibson that he was an anti-semite after making The Passion - a plainly historical movie, though many, instead of getting the message of love, for some strange reason grasped a false message of hate from the movie - the power of suggestion made him say these horrible things that he is now going to regret saying for the rest of his life - people totally forget the DUI part - this great actor/director could have lost his life in a crash - he needs help and society should focus more on that then anything else!

131. Oh Please - whatever happened to freedom of speech - You may not like what he has to say but this is the United States of America and he should have the right to express himself without being burned at the stake for it - Also the man is a recovering alcoholic who fell off the wagon - I doubt he would have said the same thing with a sober mind - Save all this energy for something that really matters like our young men that are being killed daily in Iraq!!!!!

132. People make mistakes and because Mel claims to be Christian, he made a big one, but he did apologize. He insulted Christians the most in his anti-semetic words but you'll notice that when the whole event happened, Christians were the most forgiving. He said he was sorry, so we forgave him. Who are you to judge?

133. By the way, the government has slowly been removing all religious symbols off public land and taking religion out of schools. Maybe it took something like this to show us that we need them back. How can we judge Mel when our government has done worse? Mel said hurtful things, but apologized; the government took religious freedom and the ACLU brags about it.

134. What we have here is a inability to communicate
seems like everybody wants to jump on the bandwagon
and take their shots at Mel
or stand up for him
so that they can atribute someones bad decision
drinking and driving
(which is always a bad decsion)
to their own causes personal or otherwise
Let him pay the price (jail time ,fine, rehab etc.)
Just like everbody else
He (unlike any of the rest of you I'm sure)
is a sick person and could use the support of people who care.
and this wake up call
(which I'm sure none of you ever had either)
Is useful to him and the other people that are in denial of the fact that it could happen to them too
no matter who they are
Right on sheriff's dept
Get well Mel

135. I can’t believe that after everything that happened during the 20th Century—genocide, the holocaust, institutionalized discrimination and worse against blacks in this country—that so many on this forum think Gibson’s tirade should be treated like it was just another opinion about baseball or something. Gibson himself apparently does not think so. He expressed deep regret for his words and behavior in his statement today which seems to be sincere recognition that words can be deeply offensive, especially so if they are the words of an A-list celebrity. It is possible that this apology reflects a sincere attempt for a new beginning by Gibson, not only in his battle against alcoholism, but also in ridding himself of his poisonous attitudes and prejudices. I hope so. The anti Semites posting here should take note.
