EXCLUSIVE: Gibson Lawyers Up

Barry Tarlow and Blair Berk TMZ has learned Mel Gibson has hired a prominent law firm to represent him in connection with his arrest in Malibu last Friday.

Gibson has hired the firm of Tarlow & Berk, a high-powered team based in West Hollywood, California, that has repped a number of celebrities in cases. Barry Tarlow, who turned 67 today, has represented Courtney Love, among other notables. Tarlow has been a TV "talking head" on a number of celebrity cases.

Blair Berk, 42, has represented Lindsay Lohan, Reese Witherspoon, Halle Berry, Tracy Morgan, Tracey Gold and Paul Reubens (aka Pee Wee Herman). The cases of Morgan and Gold both involved DUI.

76. If the media went after anti-christian comments like they did Mel Gibsons comments (which I do not agree with) this conversation would be a whole lot different. There are anti-christian and Catholic comments everyday even in sitcoms and nothing is ever said. It is about time those reporters (media) started to be real reporters and cover all anti religious comments.

77. I believe the media take everything to the extreme. People make mistakes and say things they don't mean. Mel's not an anti-semite. He was just drunk. That's life. If the common man on the street would have said the same thing, no one would have paid any attention to him because he has the right to speak his opinion. In fact, Barbara Walters would probably have interviewed him to get his opinion. This nonsense is being blown out of proportion and is ridiculous and childish.

What is it Hollywood??? Are you jealous that the guy made alot of money off one movie that you did not want to back? Mel just went out had a few beers, drink driving was probably not the best thing to do, but for the media to make a big deal about a few things he said, Shut up!! havent you got something better to talk about??? Like the War over in the middle east!!!! is Israel going to pull out when UN come in??? or bomb some more UN vehicles?? Everyone is allowed to have an opinion! Mel you have no one to apologise to. You make great Movies, and are a good person. The Jewish leaders are saying you should remake "The Passion of Christ" yeah do so, but the only difference add that one line you took out!!!!!Barbara Walters i will never watch another show with you in it, hurry up a book yourself in a nursing home, you have obviously lost your mind you old bat.
