EXCLUSIVE: Video of Mel at Moonshadows

TMZ has obtained exclusive video shot on a cell phone by a patron who was at Moonshadows Malibu the night of Mel Gibson's arrest for DUI. The video was shot in the patio-bar area of the restaurant just after midnight, approximately two hours before Gibson was arrested.

The video shows a jovial Mel talking and laughing with patrons. He is holding what appears to be a bottle of Pellegrino sparkling water.

We want to hear from you - LITERALLY! Call TMZ's toll-free number 866-895-8877 and sound off (but not for more than 30 seconds)! Start with your name and tell us where you live.

Congratulations on taking the first step of overcoming this horrible disease which destroyes millions of american families each year. Long live my Brave heart. God bless you... and Jesus too..

62. Upto six (or was it nine) months in jail. He won't serve a single day.

Pray for him? He's worth $850 million. Yeah, money can't buy you happiness, but, oh poor Mel.

I think we need to be thinking about our service men and women serving in harms way in a war brought on by his right wing fundamentalist christian buddies. Easy to throw other peoples' children under the bus or in front of the IED.

How about our own countrymen in New Orleans who have lost everything?

And Hezbollah versus Israel... this will never end. Even if you get Hezbollah to agree that Israel has a right to exist, just wait for the fight over Jerusalem. You'll have all of them... Jews, Christians, and Moslems fighting over that.

While I'm worried about all these other small issues, I'm worried about all the innocent people driving on the Pacific Coast Highway, while Mel and a whole lot of other people drive drunk and speeding.

63. I have to comment on Tricia's comment. Only the INTELLiGENT people are upset about Mel's comments??? That was the DUMBEST thing I've heard yet!!!!

Only the JEWS and POLITICALLY CORRECT ROBOTS are upset by Mel's comments.

I'm neither and will rally behind Mel to say what he wants to while in a drunkin tyraide!

65. I hope you people didn't pay $ for that "EXCLUSIVE" video. Get over it !!!!! Move on !!!! There's got to be someone else's life and career you can destroy !! Why don't you follow the cops every night or just sit on the front steps of the police station. I'm sure you'll see plenty of drunks talking trash on alot of different subjects. And since when do the cops come on tv and tell every detail of a persons arrest?
PS - I bet you people over at TMZ.com hate The Dixie Chicks too!!

66. Some of these posts crack me up. Some of you seem to be blaming TMZ for Gibson's problems - as stated in Christie's post "why did you ruin him first and then later say that he might have bigger problems?" TMZ didn't ruin Mel Gibson. Mel Gibson ruined Mel Gibson. I am glad he's getting help for his drinking, but there is no 12 step program for bigotry. And his past statements - for years - have shown a side of him that is not pretty. I wish him well in his recovery but those of you who don't like what TMZ is reporting, then stop reading it. By reading it, you are purportrating that which you say you hate.

67. Well, some of us out here wish Mel Gibson the best and actually think how much this has effected his wife and children....glad he is seeking help. Imagine that concept! People concerned for other people...celeb or not. - Unlike
like TMZ who seem to circle above waiting to pick the dead.
Have you plugged into the world lately....?? Move on and do some real journalism. Have you heard of Isreal or N. Uganda, Africa?
Or, go cover Paris Hilton's latest nail polish for those who like to pretend
life is a happy bubble here in the USA. ***Yawn.....that is right****

68. i find it interesting that a regular person when arrested for dui automatically has their vehicle impounded for 30 days but mel gibson was driven by a policeman to retrieve his impounded car upon his release.

70. Was it necessary to post this? Your blog sites is one of the "better" ones. Don't get sleazy like your fellow bloggers. Enough of this story, already.

Would you like a camera tailing you when you were a bit tipsy?

71. Tricia ... you're intelligent? You're also pretty full of yourself. If someone disagrees with you, that makes you more intelligent? Girl please!

72. Very simple, and true, if you think about it. Mel Gibson drove drunk, speeding, had an open container in car, got verbally belligerent with officers, tried to run away, and had more alcoholic rages and acts. That is right. I said alcoholic. Anyone know someone who is alcoholic. How did they act? Everyone needs to get off their high horse, and think about it. As far as I know, Mr. Gibson seems like a really nice guy, and he has been apologizing. It is no doubt that the police have their way of dealing with drunks if they belong to a certain class or group, such as police, actors, etc. Let's face it, one person is handled with kid gloves, and the unlucky just get shot if they point the finger the wrong way. Only the video tape catches the moment. Let Mr. Gibson make the necessary contributions, let him hire the best lawyers (be honest, you would!), and let his family handle him personally, not the world! Get a life! Either throw that tea in the bay as message to the king, or just move on. Lebanon is getting bombed! Aids in India, and Africa! Comic figures are running our government! We're worried about Mel? Next movie, please.

75. Mel Gibson has addiction to alcohol. When human been drunk he can't control his actions, that's a problem. He needs a help in proper treatment.
On the another hand Mel Gibson had a fun driving with Hi speed.
He knew that he has enough money to pay all his bills and in case of loosing
driver license to hire personal driver to the end of his life.
If his own car was involved in process making the money, probably
it never happens.
