91. Dang it! When Gibson came out with the movie, it offended many
powers
that be, in the business. They went after his Father, and Mel.
For Crying Out Loud, he has never said he didn't have a drinking
problem. Throw the book at him, are you crazy? Give it a
break! He has been a good Husband and Father. He has a problem.
Not one of you Folks are perfect! I am sick of hearing about
this. I will still see his movies, and I think he is still a great
Guy. You are suppose to be innocent until proven guilty. He was
drunk! People that live in glass houses shouldn't throw Vodka
Bottles. Leave the Guy alone! & his Family. Harvey Levin, do
you have a axe to grind?

92. Let it be known that Deputy Mee is well known by us Malibu residents as the area's most notorious police officer for writing the most tickets. We ALL have had a run-in with Deputy Mee and everyone in town comments on how "by-the-book" Mee can be. Oh yes, Mee is quite polite as he writes you up for every possible infraction he can think of. I wouldn't be surprised if he holds the record for most citations written in any given year at the Lost Hills Sheriffs station. An earlier comment questioned why Mee did not write Mel up with a speeding ticket? Hmmmm, guess you missed one there Mr. Deputy Perfecto.....huh? Well, now Mee has something else to be "famous" for. It figures Mee would be the one to bust Gibson. Enjoy your day in the spotlight Mr. Deputy. You can't hide now!!

93. Oh and for the record....GOOD LUCK trying to call a taxi in Malibu for a ride after 1am on any given night when some of us are too drunk to drive! Malibu has ONLY ONE CAB COMPANY (Malibu Taxi) with only 1 or 2 cars on duty during the early morning hours when cabs for drunk drivers are needed the most. If and when you do get an answer on the phone when you call Malibu Taxi, they will blatantly refuse to come pick you up if its only a local ride. You see Malibu Taxi is way too busy for those small fares. Just ask anyone at The "Dume Room" (local pub on Heathercliff Rd), they'll tell you this same story. Malibu Taxi is too busy sending those 2 cars out to drop-offs in Los Angeles or the San Fernando Valley (far more profitable rides indeed). Thanks Malibu Taxi! MALIBU COULD USE MORE THAN ONE CAB COMPANY!!! Maybe someone will now allow another taxi company to obtain a permit to operate cabs in Malibu to come in and compete and get these intoxicated people off PCH. Stop your greed Malibu Taxi, the World now knows.

94. What has this country come to? People get their little feelers hurt just because somebody makes a remark. Whether their a public figure or just Joe Blow down the street their intitled to their opinion. This thing with Mel Gibson has been blow out of portion (and the Jewish community) just because people like smut. I say way to go Mel, speak your mind, don't apologize for anything, let them get over it. If the truth hurts, get a bandaid. Leave Mel alone, he has enough to pay for because of the media that has nothing better to do than defame anyone they can. Mel has been in my opinion, sought after by the Jewish community; moreso for his movie The Passion of the Christ. At least he knows how to tell the truth which is hard for those crying out anti semite. To hell with Barbara Walters and Joy Behr on the View for their comments and attitude toward Mel as well. Shame on you both as Journalist are supposed to be NON BIASED!

95. I have a real problem with the vultures that are feeding and gnawing on Mel Gibson. Getting on PCH, being drunk,....making dangerous decisions. I am more concerned with Mel's health, the illness that he's fighting, and what triggered the demons coming out and thrashing on his sobriety. I was pleasantly surprised to find that regardless of how drunk he was, he was still a gentleman; those two blond friends who were hanging all over him, now they were disguesting. I got the impression they were trying him into a compromising(sp) position. I would have found a way to disable his car, in such a way, he would not be able to drive it,....I would do that for any drunk person,....so that they don't get out on the road,.....posibly killing themselves, or someone else on the highway. If you live in Texas, you carry a Texas toothpick. How said it would have been, such a waste, that a talent such as Mel, could have died because his person demon. Good luck to Mel and his family. A SUGGESTION MEL,......Hire a driver.

THERE IS SO MUCH GOING ON IN THIS WORLD AND THIS IS WHAT THEY ARE UPSET WITH. .....STRANGE!!!
THEY SHOULD TRY AND CLEAN UP THERE ACT IN ISRAEL AND STOP KILLING PEOPLE THEY ARE NOT EVEN LETTING THEM BURY THEIR DEAD. SHAME ON THEM.

98. I am a retired Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff and worked as a Patrol Deputy at Marina Del Rey and had numerous contacts with high profile people. The Deputy showed great restraint in his actions and Mr Gibson will have his day in court. If he had not made the Passion Of The Christ, I do not believe we would be seeing his cruicification in the liberal media. Give the guy a break and move on!!

99. MEL.... LET THIS MAKE YOU STRONGER. NOW THEY ARE TELLING THE RABBI NOT TO LET YOU INTO THEIR HOUSE OF WORSHIP TO SAY YOU ARE SORRY.
.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME THEY WILL REMEMBER THIS FOREVER. NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO.
THEY HAVE THEIR NAMES FOR NON JEWS AND USE THEM ALL THE TIME.
I WAS GOING OUT WITH A JEW AND HIS FAMILY WANTED HIM TO GO OUT WITH A JEW. NOT A CATHOLIC LADY.
HE DID NOT LET THEM STOP OUR RELATIONSHIP.
THEY WERE AFRAID I WOULD TAKE HIS MONEY AND I HAD MORE THAN HIM.
IT WAS SAD HOW THEY DISCRIMINATED AGAINST ME.
NOT ME AGAINST THEM.

101. Leave Mel alone he is a good and decent man whomade a mistake iduced by alcohol. Hell who hasn't done that. It is time for the media to let this go and find some other poor sole to torture..

102. Mel is a great guy and actually "Mel is THE MAN. He got a little tipsy and the truth came out. Haven't we all been guilty of speaking the truth? He just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time!!!

103. It doesn't matter how much Mel Gibson appologizes for his remarks because it is quite obvious from his father's remarks and his release of "Passion of Christ" he has issues (more than most people) with Jews. My only wish is that there is a release of the video from police and the complete police report so that all who have followed him throughout his career can see who he really is.

104. Leave Mel Gibson alone. He needs privacy and besides who hasn't ever screwed up? You keep feeding the public with information that is not good for the Gibson family and the public. Just leave him alone!

Posted at 11:41AM on Aug 3rd 2006 by Kathy

105. Give Mel a break enough already! He did make a mistake but he will be paying for in more ways than one unfortunately because he is a star. Let's get over it and move on. We have all made mistakes and have said and done stupid things while we were drunk, he is not different than anyone else! So give him a break he is a good guy that made a mistake. I will continue to go to his movies as I'm sure everyone else will continue to support him. Be strong Mel!
