Gibson Says "All My Friends Are Cops"

61. I think Harvey Levin is absolutely right to pursue the truth regarding Mel Gibson's arrest.

Had me or my family been arrested under the same conditions we would have been charged with the following:

Driving while intoxicated
Driving with a BA over .08 the legal limit in California. Mr. Gibson's was reported to be .12

Reckless Driving (driving 87 mph in a 45 ph zone
Resisting Arrest/Interfering With A peace Officer PC148
These are what I see.

But instead Mr. Gibson has been thus far charged with only a misdemeanor DUI. Like most people it has been my experience to see in court for many years he immediately puts the blame on his alcoholic past and signs up for a rehab class. This is for the judge's benefit. Had he really wanted to do something about his drinking he has had ample opportunity and the funds to do so. He has remorse okay. Sorry he got caught. And the fact that he has reportedly been stopped several other times without being charged is downright scary.When he has killed or injured someone is too late. One of the tenets of our legal system is NEMO EST SUPRA LEGIS or No One Is Above The Law. Apparently Mel Gibson thinks so or he really is because of his celebrity. Shame. Shame.

My niece was killed in a DUI crash by a young man who also apparently thought he was above the law. He had several chances. She didn't. She is dead. He is back on the streets.

62. I am with #2 on you all should stop beating a dead horse and leave this man alone. Mel got drunk, said some stupid things, and got a DUI.

63. Enough is enough! Mel Gibson is a human being, and human beings make mistakes. Most of us are fortunate enough not to have our lives and our mistakes splashed all over the media, thank goodness. As a Christian and a recovering alcoholic, I find it reprehensible that all these "religious" leaders are chastising Mr. Gibson for not being quick enough to apologize instead of praying for his recovery from a disease that can kill him. After an incident like this, all he needs to worry about is getting the help he needs to get sober and healthy. Besides, what ever happened to forgiveness?

I don't see there faces plastered all over the internet. People make mistakes. The public dose not have all the facts. As for the "original report" I see nothing official about it. To me it looks like an copy of a fax from an old fax machine hints the black back round and white writing. TMZ is noting more than a piss poor copycat of the Enquire.

68. Please.....Paris Hilton has been in how many "fender benders"......Lindsay has been hospitalized for "exhaustion" how many times.....give the man a break. I'm not saying he should have gotten behind that wheel (God knows he has plenty of money to call for a ride), but stop making him out to be the Anti-Christ. He screwed up.....he's apologized.....and he will end up paying for it. Leave the poor man alone to deal with his issues. While he should absolutely pay for this mistake...and he will....there is no need for the press to crucify him the way they have.

69. I'm sorry for your loss #49.....I can only imagine how hard that is to deal with. I can also understand how cynical it made you. While Mel might only be doing the rehab thing to get him out of trouble.....maybe this is the thing he needed to turn him around. (you know....that whole hitting rock bottom thing). I don't know...I don't know him and he may be blowing smoke up our butts. But, I think everyone deserves a second chance

Je suis triste de remarquer qu'il est fait tant de bruit pour des mots.
Accepter que les autres puisse avoir une opinion différente de la notre c'est à mon avis savoir faire preuve de tolérance.

75. Mel Gibson arrest was a setup. Cops new that he was drinking in the bar all night and setup a trap for him. They have his remarks on tape but who knows what provoked him to say this? I am sure the cop told him something, which conveniently was not recorded. And the report and all the details in it is very unusual for police arrest.
