Mel Gibson Gets a Phil Pill

Dr. Phil expressed some dismay Wednesday night about the harsh criticism against Mel Gibson for his anti-Semitic rant during his arrest.

The good doctor, who appeared on "The Tonight Show," told Jay Leno: "I don't know what [Gibson] really thinks or feels."

Dr. Phil added: "I certainly wouldn't judge a guy based on one comment in a drunken stupor on the side of the road at 2 o'clock in the morning."

Could it be that Phil is angling to get the Gibson mea culpa interview? Stay tuned.

61. I would like to add some information I came across when I tried to unprogram a kid who got wraped up iin the white supremacy movement. What they teach or preach is very hard to unprove, because they use many truths,,, I will list a couple here so that maybe some will understand how and why they think this way. it is not all the answers but a few points. first the holocaust one reason they say it was not as it is claimed (or it did not happen ) is because the numbers dont add up. there are about 13,000,000 jews in the world today, about 5 million in the us ,about 6 million in isreal , the problem is if hitler killed 6 million jews with population growth that would mean he killed more than half of the jews in the world,, that seems unlikely, also over 50 million people died in WWII , second point they showed me to prove a jewish conspiracy , they took out a US one dollar bill, turned it over and pointed out the star of David printed om it . It is there plain as day.. it seems soemone in power changed the great seal of the USA from where the eagle holds a star constillation to the eagle holding stars in the shape of the star of David. I did not have an answer to either one of these points shown to me ,, although I strongley disagree with the conspiracy theory the white suprmacy people put forth. I never succeded in deprograming the kid he is now in prison for many many years

62. I have a Question? Would everyone have had the same love for the movie star if he had said "Niggers are responsible for all of the worlds problems." How dare anyone defend this man. Let's not forget that Catholics have been responsible for many, MANY deaths during the Inquisition and for covering up the acts of Nazi Germany after WW's I and II and the holocaust. It is a shame that these supporters cannot see through the blanket of hatred that this man spews. But then again, isn't this coming from the same group that hushes the horrible actions of pedofile priests?.. Shocking... Learned at his father's feet. I have met this man's father in Tomball, TX and he is a typical hatemongerer. Too bad I am just a plain old white boy who doesn't support bias of any type. Throw the book at him. Drunk is drunk. I wonder if Mr. Gibson would have had the same statements flying from his mouth if he had killed a young Jewish girl after wrecking his car into a family vehicle on his way home??? Probably. Here's to hoping that he gets his due.

63. Dr. Phil is such a "brown nose." By the way, what are his credentials? Oh, I remember, he is a GOP member. GOP stands for "Get Other People." Gipson has made statements about Gays, women and his bizarre religious beliefs. Dr. Phil, a multimillion dollar doctor, who, probably, has another personality that the public hasn't witnessed , made an unprofessional statement on the Tonight Show. I love David Letterman's monologues about the buffoon Dr. Phil!

64. Ernest #6, I wonder how your Holocast relative victims would feel about the pass you're giving the son/apologist of a Holocaust denier who hurls anti-semitic epithets at Jewish policemen? Oh and "brucha" is supposed to be spelled "brukha." Only gentiles are incapable of prouncing it right. But you're German, you know that dontcha? Phoney lying putz.

68. Of course Dr. Phil is jocking to get Gibson on his show for the big BOO-HOO apology. Dr. Phil would sell his mother to the White Slavers if he thought it would boost his career.
I watched his show for years until it got to the point I could see him selling out to the ratings and he started to really annoy me with his Pop Psychology and his annoyingly deprecating attitude.
I bet he would kiss a Hound Dogs hind end on Live TV if he thought it would mean a rating point.
The only person on TV who annoys me more is Dr Phil`s progenitor, the Queen of the Weasle People, old Oprah herself.

69. I hold no grudges againts Mel for his comments. He was drunk & everyone does & say,s things they wouldn,t normally say."i,m not jewish" i have nothing againts Jews but jewish an some oyher people are saying bad things about Mel i feel should not be said. There are too many people/celebrities that have nothing but good things to say about Mel.So i agree with Dr. Phil,Jay Leno, & others who had good comments to say on here.Yes let it go,let it rest, whats done is done, its in the past, leave it in the past & for the women on the view said she will never see another movie that involves Mel. Good she will be the one missing out on his ongoing great performances & directorial films.Hes a great acter & directer & always will be.Krap on thoughs who think differant. After all it is a free country. As far as the women on the view "PLEASE" i think she is nothing but a big mouth & never really has anything good to say about other celebrities, shes a jeoulis two faced #%?!. Mel keep up the good work, your one of the best in hollywood!

70. A man far greater than any other said it best. Let who ever is without sin be the first
one to cast a stone. Also how about turn the other cheek. OR stick and stone may break my bones but words will never hurt me. I have known a lot of drunks in my 63 years on earth and the one thing i learned (the hard way) was they need help.
I drank for 35 yrs myself and said a lot of hurtfull things to a lot of people. I think we should help Mel get the help he realy needs.

71. Well, the truth comes out when you are drunk and your guard is down. The true way Mel Gibson feels came out while he was inebriated. If he had used the "N" the country would be up in arms. If he had used the "S" for Latinos, the country would be up in arms. But since it is only Jews that he is bigot about, he is going to be given a reprieve. Where is Jesse Jackson on this? Where are community leaders on this? AH! I understand! It's only the Jews!

72. Dr. Phil,
Once again you are letting a bigot off the hook. The truth comes out when someone is drunk because their inhibitions are gone. Mel's real feelings came out. Perhaps he believes the writings of David Hale? He spouts hatred and Dr. Phil wants to let him off the hook. Dr. Phil, let's call it the way it is. Mel hates Jews and is a bigot!

74. Isn't it interesting that a number of Mel Gibson's friends are now speaking out in his defense, including Jodie Foster, Richard Donner (1/2 Jewish), Dean Devlin (Jewish), Sam Elliott, and Robert Downey Jr (1/2 Jewish). They don't like Mel's behavior the other night, but they love the man, calling him a kind and loyal friend who is not a bigot. WHY HAVE WE NOT SEEN STORIES FROM HIS PUBLIC SUPPORTERS ON YOUR SITE MR. LEVIN??? Because you're a rat, that's why! While Mr. Gibson's supposed "hatred" of the Jews was spewed in a drunken stupor, YOUR "hatred" of Mel Gibson is real and palpable! Shame on you Mr. Levin. You've gone too far!
