Exclusive -- Keanu Stopped By Cops at LAX

Keanu Reeves was pulled over by airport police at Los Angeles International Airport today for a traffic violation, but escaped with only a warning.

It's not the biggest crime in the world certainly, but anything that goes down at airports these days is eventful. Reeves was pulled over for allegedly violating California Vehicle Code 21453(a) -- failing to stop at a signal or, in common parlance, blowing a red light. It happened at 3:00 p.m. PST. The cop did not issue a citation and let Reeves go with a warning.

It's unclear what the "Matrix" star was doing at the airport, although we know he was on the upper level, which is for departing passengers.

A rep for Reeves could not be reached for comment.

32. Holy crap people! What does Keanu Reeves getting stopped for a traffic violation (BORING!) have to do with him being Lebanese? Jesus, what the hell does it matter? Note to Harvey, not a good idea to lead with this story, it's kind of lame.

34. Airport layout is a little off but what the hay..... I am sure that you or I would have gotten a big old ticket outa this deal and not just a warning. And i'm sure that a cardio-thorasic surgeon on his way to to the hospital for a day of performing life saving operations would have gotten a ticket. I love ya, Keanu but REALLY.......

36. From my knowledge Keanu is some type of mid-eastern mixed mutt-but agents, managers, publicist have a rule about demographic marketing. The same as Mariah carrey who is white-irish and AFrican-American only but the record label's people said she also was part hispanic from south america(and Mariah has said this was for marketing she has no latina/hispanic or latin-Indo blood)-Shakira isnt latnia her parents are from Lebanon but she is an Arab who happen to have been born in a latin american country so they figured lets say she is hispanic by blood-another marketing lie. Tia Carre was told to just say she is Hawaiian and no one can say what race you are-the same with Keanu-just say your Hawaiian.

39. She listed the wrong birth year for Keanu, he was born in 1964 not 1965. He is a natural born citizen of Lebanon. And when his mother moved them to Canada, they took on Canadian citizenship. You are allowed to have dual citizenship in Canada. Tanith Belbin the Olympic Ice Skater has dual citizenship. (granted U.S. Citzenship Dec. 31,2005 just in time for Olympic trials.) Keanu is not interested in changing his citizenship. Nor do a lot of canadaians, Michael J. Fox, Jim Carrey etc...

42. And while we want Mr. Reeves to be safe more importantly DON"T BREAK MOVING VIOLATIONS! He could have seriously injured someone. This was beyond STUPID! Shame on the cop, he deserved the ticket. While I am a big fan, I don't agree with the double standard.

44. Ahhh Keanu didn't get a ticket! That's cool...must have been a Matrix fan. I wouldn't have given him a ticket either...just a warning and ask for his autograph.

Boy it bugs me how people are so inquizative...it really does not matter if he was coming or going. It's like his security. Why does it matter?

Well...anyway, hope he's taking some time down. He's been in every ciniema for like months...not that I'm complaining...he's eye candy to watch. :)

45. TMZ CALLED HIS PEOPLE?? Wow, must have been a slow news day.

He's not an "honorary" Canadian. He's a Canadian Citizen, period. He's not Lebanonese - his parents just happened to be there when he dropped.

And according to at least 1 other poster here - you dont have to be a celebrity to get away with a warning, Celeb-hater. I wish people would read before they post.

Now - did anything EXCITING happen? TMZ - will you posting any REAL news?
