Rosie's Angsty Pre-"View" Poetry

Rosie O'Donnell is clearly conflicted about her upcoming debut as a co-host on "The View" -- and she's letting her feelings spill out for all to read. On her blog, O'Donnell has given her fans and observers a taste of what she's been thinking in advance of joining Barbara, Joy, and Elisabeth at the kaffeeklatsch, almost in real-time and in a stripped-down shorthand (and all-lower-case) verse that might best described as Hai-M.

Last Thursday, she caused a minor stir when she reacted to having seen the new "View" promos, in which she's portrayed as just one of the girls. "It will be hard 4 me/2 not b/the boss," she wrote. But Friday, she did something of an about-face, writing, "I am excited about the view ... hoping they all like me ... cuz there is nothing better/than being a cast member."

And then yesterday, Rosie described an interaction at Saturday's Creative Arts Emmys (pictured above) with a reporter from Access Hollywood, who apparently asked her if she was happy about her former nemesis Star Jones' firing. Rosie wouldn't take the bait, according to her: "It would not have been fun for me/fighting everyday/life is 2 short."

Though her unabashed self-explication is certain to continue to make (little) waves, Rosie herself explains that it's just a way to work things out: "The discord is internal/inside myself. . .feelings are not fights." Rosie's full poetic discourse on "The View," complied into a mini-anthology, follows.

The Pre-"View"

by Rosie O'Donnell

i saw the new view promos
and found myself in the position
i loathe most
powerless

it will be hard 4 me
2 not b
the boss
it is already
and we have only just begun

i am excited about the view
like a new kid on the first day of school
hoping they all like me
that i fit in
cuz there is nothing better
then being a cast member

access hollywood
asked if i was happy
star was gone
b4 i could reply he added
- i would have loved 2 c u 2 go at it
smiling

it would not have been fun for me
fighting everyday
life is 2 short

376. In all honesty, Rosie turns me off period! Yes, she is in the public lime light and that is fine. I am very dissappointed that they have chosen her for this position. She was better doing her own show. I am glad to be able to see that I am not the only one who feels Rosie doesn't belong on the View. I hope she can be adult enough like the rest of the women.

377. I think Rosie is a dysfunctional ,angry, loud mouth boistrous awful person. Barbara Walters must have lost her mind hiring such an unlikeable person as Rosie. Rosie shoul never say anything negative about anyone,it is obvious she has not evaluated herself.

378. When the View first started it began as 4 women's opinions of different topics. It slowly deteriorated into a show about the 4 women and their personal lives...and I believe they forgot about having topics, not talking over one another and accepting 4 different women's opinions. Remember, we are all different out here listening. Personally, I love Elizabeth. She is refreshing, honest, and represents the everyday young housewife and mother. Joy is a great balance to that with humor thrown in. I think Rosie will be too harsh and squash the softer side of Elizabeth which is needed on the show. Star was moody but why be mean?
I saw her sit crossed arms and turn away from people she didn't like...like a teenager. But Rosie as a replacement? Please! Where's another side? We have the conservative and the liberal, and Barbara to balance...VIEW Please think before you KILL your show.

380. I did'nt look at the view much, but firing Star Jones was a grand mistake. Hiring the confused woman, Rosie was a big mistake. I'll never watch the view again. Rosie, please read Romans 1:26 and also know that GOD loves the sinner, not the sin; GOD has nothing to do with abomination. Turn from those ways so that GOD can heal your land. I'm not trying to condemn you, just believing GOD for your salvation.

381. I can't wait for Rosie to start the view, I think the show needs her. It is the perfect place for her to express her opinions on the latest topics. I also think Rosie and Joy will get along great. David.

382. I think Rosie is awesome, and anyone who has followed her career should know that she has a tendency to be abrasive. She, like any other celebrity, is hated by many and loved by even more. She will certainly bring a different point of "view" to the table, and I will be watching anxiously.

Again,
Please.

384. I have lost so much respect for Barbara Walters. Why in the world would she think that Rosie O'Donnell is a good match for her show? Has Barbara lost touch with her "VIEWers" and reality???

I was never a fan of Star Jones, so my opinion is not one of those who has chosen sides. Rosie has alienated so many of her fans...remember the early Rosie O'Donnell show..."Tommy can you hear me?" We loved her then. Even though we thought she might be gay, we didn't care. It's when she got so angry and tough and bitter that it became difficult and distasteful to watch her. When she attacked Tom Selleck on air regarding gun control, she lost me. Not because I am a huge fan for or against guns, I just realized that Rosie had lost control and lost touch with what her viewers wanted from her. I really don't care what she thinks of gun control, I just wanted to watch her interview celebrities.

Now, when I think of Rosie, I think of an angry person who has nothing in common with me. I won't watch the View BECAUSE Rosie is on. I am not curious about what she has to say, and I think there are probably others out there who feel the same as me. I can't imagine the View lasting another full season. I think Barbara has created the beginning of the end of her show. The only thing I am curious about is how long will this show last, now that Meredith is gone, Star is gone, and angry Rosie is on board? And remember, I was never a fan of Star Jones.

385. I am so disappointed in the selection of Rosie. This will hurt the ratings. This does not make good business sense. If you want ratings, then you should have kept Star and Rosie. We would have watched for the entertainment of it all.
ABC - Big mistake!!!! You let an opportunity go by.
Barbara please listen to your fans. Rosie does not have a big enough fan club to be the choice for the View. She has a big mouth about nothing. She is truly annoying and not pleasant to listen to, let alone look at.... Her personality and attitude stinks. I don't believe in her or trust her. I will not watch the View any more.

Again....Rosie is not the choice for the View. Watch your ratings and you will see the facts.

386. Rosie is not the class act that Meredith Vierra was. She is going to bring that show down. She talks too much, is not funny and is too argumentive. She has absolutely no class. What was on Barbara's mind to put her in that position on the View. Rosie's mini anthology was elementary and disconnected. I am not looking forward to seeing her on the View. I'll watch a few shows out of curiosity, but that's all. I predict that the ratings will go downhill like a landslide. . Sat

388. I'm not a big fan of Rosie but,
Everybody who writes about Rosie need to write about themselves instead.
Need to stop talking about what she do and don't do. She's only human.
So what if she has a big mouth everyone has one.
What you people need is to get a life of your own and stop finding fault with Rosie and everyone else who is rich and famous.

389. It is our right to have choices. End of story. I have stopped watching The View simply because I do not care for Elizabeth. I am not being judgemental or hurtful. This is my choice. Before Elizabeth I was able to attend a showing of The View and enjoyed it alot. I love Rosie and will start watching The View again. I can not wait for her to be apart of the show. I would love to get back to the main point of this conversation. I do hope that each of you are NEVER judged as you have done here. Oh I know you say you could care less what any one says about you. Well if that is true then you would not care what is going on in someone elses life. Right? So go right ahead and get yourself all heated up and type your little fingers to the bone. Rosie or any one else that is not your carbon copy could care less about what you have to say. Keep typing, its all cheap entertainment. Welcome Rosie! I am putting in for another set of tickets......

390. Hmmmm.... I just don't think ROSIE will fit on the view... She is a big mouth and needs to tone it down... Who cares anymore anyway...big woop ....you're GAY... live and let live. The shows always been entertaining...WHY screw it up ? for Elizabeth...Hell...she's held her own. You go Woman.!! Star?...Passe" She made her choice...She's ALL that !... Yeah right. I'd like to see someone with Class.. Like Barbara, JOY (she's got it goin on) And people with intelligence, integrety, and humor that we all need these days.. Get rid of the crap... there's enough in the world these days.
Peace.. Let's All get along...hmmm ...What a concept...
