Rosie's Angsty Pre-"View" Poetry

Rosie O'Donnell is clearly conflicted about her upcoming debut as a co-host on "The View" -- and she's letting her feelings spill out for all to read. On her blog, O'Donnell has given her fans and observers a taste of what she's been thinking in advance of joining Barbara, Joy, and Elisabeth at the kaffeeklatsch, almost in real-time and in a stripped-down shorthand (and all-lower-case) verse that might best described as Hai-M.

Last Thursday, she caused a minor stir when she reacted to having seen the new "View" promos, in which she's portrayed as just one of the girls. "It will be hard 4 me/2 not b/the boss," she wrote. But Friday, she did something of an about-face, writing, "I am excited about the view ... hoping they all like me ... cuz there is nothing better/than being a cast member."

And then yesterday, Rosie described an interaction at Saturday's Creative Arts Emmys (pictured above) with a reporter from Access Hollywood, who apparently asked her if she was happy about her former nemesis Star Jones' firing. Rosie wouldn't take the bait, according to her: "It would not have been fun for me/fighting everyday/life is 2 short."

Though her unabashed self-explication is certain to continue to make (little) waves, Rosie herself explains that it's just a way to work things out: "The discord is internal/inside myself. . .feelings are not fights." Rosie's full poetic discourse on "The View," complied into a mini-anthology, follows.

The Pre-"View"

by Rosie O'Donnell

i saw the new view promos
and found myself in the position
i loathe most
powerless

it will be hard 4 me
2 not b
the boss
it is already
and we have only just begun

i am excited about the view
like a new kid on the first day of school
hoping they all like me
that i fit in
cuz there is nothing better
then being a cast member

access hollywood
asked if i was happy
star was gone
b4 i could reply he added
- i would have loved 2 c u 2 go at it
smiling

it would not have been fun for me
fighting everyday
life is 2 short

454. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, last time I checked we are a free country and able to express our opinions as such. The show is titled "The View," which I presume means "everybody's" View is equally as important, but Elisabeth insists time and time again to carry on forcefully with her "view" giving the others no chance to express themselves fully. I have been an avid "Viewer" since it's inception August 1997, and whenever possible followed the ladies to their prospective cities of appearance. Just last February I took my two daughters to Las Vegas to see the ladies. I'm so glad we did, it was the last time the crew was in tact. While Star was not a favorate of mine, she had some good moments. Our darling was Merideth, who on her trip to Los-Angeles in 2004 authographed few souvenirs for my family while taping in El Capitan theatre.
Very truely yours. Much luck for your future endevours. Jackie I.

456. I still like Rosie and hope she hasn't blown her carrer away. I hope that people will at least give her a chance and see if she works or doesn't work on the veiw before forming an opinion. I'm not gay, but I don't care one way or another if you're gay or not--as long as you don't try to change me. I don't see Rosie trying to convert anyone--so that's cool! Also, she seems to write like that because it's a poem--it's just adifferent way of writting-- And it can't all be bad, because everyone seems to know what she is writing about. Why is everything she does become so critical for everyone? or should I say 4 everyone? LOL

458. With Star Jones gone the show isn't worth watching. Barbara Walters is a joke.
If she had brains she would never have fired Star. .Wth her and Rosie on at the same time no one in their right mind would watch.

459. I have always liked Barbara Walters but with her choice ofRosie I have to question her Views. To me Rosie is a foul mouth no it all person. Ms. Walters used to be a women that people looked up to but after some of her decisions of late I'm not sure that is true anymore. Some of my friends and I use to love the show but with the bad talk about Mel Gibson and the hiring of Rosie I have to question her Christain attitude Rosies foul mouth and loud I am important to me is much worse than Mel Gibson. Again I hope the old Barbara Walters comes back. Not many like the New One.

460. Rosie,
Get over yourself. You use to be a person and women of quality, class and a good foundation. Now your rocking the boat. Make yourself sound more like a Rosie Springer then the Rosie we all grew up watching. You had a sence of humor. You respected peoples and their hard work and efforts in life. Now you act like no one deserves a break but you. How selfish, rude and undignified.Yes ,you use to have dignity. Not anymore. You want to bite anything or anyone that challenges your outlooks on things and you dig into people with enjoyment of a side freak show. Whats happened to you. Quality of a junk yard dog is more like it too. I use to watch the view every day with with such enjoyment . I even looked forward to you coming to the View show.. Not anymore. If I watch it now ,its because the rest of the tv network blew away. After that I will just go back to better tings then what it seems the View will have to offer. Sorry Rosie, you don't do it for us anymore.

461. All of you hate mongers need to grow up! You are the hypocrites in this matter because all of you probably watched the Rosie show and loved it. She is an entertainer, not your pastor or your childs teacher, so please don't try to hold her up to those standards. She is entitled to her opinion. Star is much worse with all of the crap that has come out of her mouth since The View started and is the reason I stopped watching. Most of your complaints about Rosie seem to stem from the fact that she is gay and that really bothers you for some reason. If you don't like what she has to say, don't watch, but please stop with the name calling.

463. Rosie, is going to be the bomb that blows up in Barbara Walter's face. A much need reality check for Babs! I didn't care much for Star Jones but Rosie??? Bad choice, I can't the believe the honchos let this one fly. Rosie is too raunchy and masculine to join a panel of straight women (bet we won't see Joy, kissing her at a roast). What woman in her right mind would tune in to see a make-up, waxing or cooking segment with Rosie? She would be much more effective on how to winterized your automobile or lawn.

The View will be the next "Titanic." Losing Meredith was a tragic. It will expose how annoying Barbara Walters is, show how little thought Elisabeth puts into what she says, and just how "thorny" Rosie really.

Joy is truly, the only JOY on the show!

464. I agree w/all of the above who don't want Rosie on the View, what in the world was Barbara thinking, Rosie was great w/her own show, once she came out she sure became a bitter woman, I really don't plan on watching the View once she is on, when shes gone I will watch again, hopefully I won't have to long of a wait!
PS I so agree w/#8, Elisabeth is the one that should go, her dress & her opinions are so ANNOYING!!!!
