Rosie's Angsty Pre-"View" Poetry

Rosie O'Donnell is clearly conflicted about her upcoming debut as a co-host on "The View" -- and she's letting her feelings spill out for all to read. On her blog, O'Donnell has given her fans and observers a taste of what she's been thinking in advance of joining Barbara, Joy, and Elisabeth at the kaffeeklatsch, almost in real-time and in a stripped-down shorthand (and all-lower-case) verse that might best described as Hai-M.

Last Thursday, she caused a minor stir when she reacted to having seen the new "View" promos, in which she's portrayed as just one of the girls. "It will be hard 4 me/2 not b/the boss," she wrote. But Friday, she did something of an about-face, writing, "I am excited about the view ... hoping they all like me ... cuz there is nothing better/than being a cast member."

And then yesterday, Rosie described an interaction at Saturday's Creative Arts Emmys (pictured above) with a reporter from Access Hollywood, who apparently asked her if she was happy about her former nemesis Star Jones' firing. Rosie wouldn't take the bait, according to her: "It would not have been fun for me/fighting everyday/life is 2 short."

Though her unabashed self-explication is certain to continue to make (little) waves, Rosie herself explains that it's just a way to work things out: "The discord is internal/inside myself. . .feelings are not fights." Rosie's full poetic discourse on "The View," complied into a mini-anthology, follows.

The Pre-"View"

by Rosie O'Donnell

i saw the new view promos
and found myself in the position
i loathe most
powerless

it will be hard 4 me
2 not b
the boss
it is already
and we have only just begun

i am excited about the view
like a new kid on the first day of school
hoping they all like me
that i fit in
cuz there is nothing better
then being a cast member

access hollywood
asked if i was happy
star was gone
b4 i could reply he added
- i would have loved 2 c u 2 go at it
smiling

it would not have been fun for me
fighting everyday
life is 2 short

631. I have been a faithful view watcher since the beginning. Star started out as interesting but i had had enough. meredith was the show along with lisa ling and joy. i could watch those 3 anytime. poor elizabeth, she's over her head and it's obvious she has led a sheltered life. she should leave and come back after she has experienced life. the only reason i think that barbara wanted rosie is she wants an emmy for the 5 participants and when rosie had her show it was emmy time. i thought her show was somewhat entertaining, just not on a daily basis. but she has become too political and bitter. for me it's the end of the view. no longer interesting since barbara was working full time. have you noticed , there are no reruns featuring Star?

633. ROSIE IS A RACIST. AND THE VIEW IS A RACIST SHOW FOR LETTING A RACIST CO-HOST, HER COMMENTS ABOUT BLACKS WERE JUST DISGUSTING AND I DONT SEE HOW ANY T.V. SHOW CAN JUSTIFY ADDING HER TO THEIR PAYROLL UNLESS THEY AGREE WITH HER RACIST ATITTUDE. ROSIE IS WHATS WRONG WITH THE MEDIA NOW A DAYS. RACIST ARE ALLOWED TO HAVE A PLATFORM.
C.O.R.E.-CONGRESS OF RACIAL EQUALITY HAD TO FINIALY ADDRESS ROSIE ABOUT HER KKK RANTS. THE VIEW IS ON THE WAY OUT AND RATINGS WILL TANK.

635. I think Rosie is honest in her thoughts and opinions and perhaps doesn't express them as "politely" as some would prefer. I don't think she intentionally tries to hurt people's feelings.

636. gotta say that i never liked the show. thought Mrideth was pretty annoying, Barbara I'v e never thjought was any good-can't understand why she gets the big bucks! Rosie was good at stand-up-but sure seems like she should take time off now and do some inner work or soul searching or something!

638. Hi Everybody, I just wanted to say a few things about your "COMMENTS"!!! about "ROSIE". I think you all should go and read "ROSIE O'DONNELL's" BLOG. You people should be ashamed of your self for talking about ROSIE or anyone else like that. She "HELPS" alot of "KIDS" do you people. She at least says what she thinks. And really does care. And her show was not canceled, she left on her own to help "her WIFE "KELLI" take care of their KIDS. Thank You Pam

639. I hope that getting rosie to sit as part of the women of the view bites barbara w. in the butt. rosie is no woman, as a matter of fact she is a nothing. if the view doesn't get a emmy this coming season who will they let go.

641. Advice to Barbara Walters: Thank God you got rid of that bitch Star, good riddence to bad rubbish. See will never work in TV again, and I am positive you will sure of that. She will have go to back to being a lawyer and working for a living that won't be such the high life style.

But Barbara, please, please, please, rething Rosie. Unless you keep her under strict orders not to flaunt her sexuality and we do not have to hear about her kids, please, I just started to watch the View again since you canned Star.

I loved Rosie's program until she went ballistic on Tom Selleck. She blind sided him. Opinions are like ass holes, everyone has one. OK, I forgave her and watched again after a few month.

Then she went nuts on her being a lesbian, Good Bye Rosie. Do what you want, be who you are, but don' shove it down people's throat. Keep it at home.

I just hope Elizabeth does not walk off the show because then for sure I will never watch the View again.

Martha just might be more interesting and I cannot stomach her.

643. Rosie had this doll sitting on her desk. Finally after she got finished with all of the monologue stuff she does, she addressed this doll, Baby Go Boom. The doll apparently is supposed to be learning to walk and falls on its bottom after wobbling for a few seconds. Then it lurches back and begins to shake. (Yep, kinda getting where this is going yet?) She referred to the baby as "baby having a seizure" at this point. Both she and her music dude, John, were laughing at 'the babydoll having a seizure'. THEN Rosie had one of her stage hands bring out her Chihuahua puppy, Cloudy I think its name was, and tried to have the dog attack the doll as it was lying on the floor shaking! Rosie explained that the dog attacks this dolls head at home when it starts shaking. She referred to the doll quite a few times as having a seizure!

I got heads up from someone else on this show and was able to record the episode. I have watched it multiple times and feel that I am not being too harsh in saying that I think it was WAY out of line to try to get her dog to attack the doll she was referring to as "baby having a seizure". Personally, I am writing the show and encourage others to do the same if they find the above offensive!

644. Rosie and Barbara WaWA's working together, is nothing more than an accident waiting to happen.
Rosie is nothing more than a female trying to wear a man's pair of pants.
Get over it Rosie you were terrible in a League of thier Own because you can't play well with others. I think you have way to much vinegar and not enough sugar within you. Take you loud mouth back to Boston and enroll in a decent finishing school I think you could use it!
