Rosie's Angsty Pre-"View" Poetry

Rosie O'Donnell is clearly conflicted about her upcoming debut as a co-host on "The View" -- and she's letting her feelings spill out for all to read. On her blog, O'Donnell has given her fans and observers a taste of what she's been thinking in advance of joining Barbara, Joy, and Elisabeth at the kaffeeklatsch, almost in real-time and in a stripped-down shorthand (and all-lower-case) verse that might best described as Hai-M.

Last Thursday, she caused a minor stir when she reacted to having seen the new "View" promos, in which she's portrayed as just one of the girls. "It will be hard 4 me/2 not b/the boss," she wrote. But Friday, she did something of an about-face, writing, "I am excited about the view ... hoping they all like me ... cuz there is nothing better/than being a cast member."

And then yesterday, Rosie described an interaction at Saturday's Creative Arts Emmys (pictured above) with a reporter from Access Hollywood, who apparently asked her if she was happy about her former nemesis Star Jones' firing. Rosie wouldn't take the bait, according to her: "It would not have been fun for me/fighting everyday/life is 2 short."

Though her unabashed self-explication is certain to continue to make (little) waves, Rosie herself explains that it's just a way to work things out: "The discord is internal/inside myself. . .feelings are not fights." Rosie's full poetic discourse on "The View," complied into a mini-anthology, follows.

The Pre-"View"

by Rosie O'Donnell

i saw the new view promos
and found myself in the position
i loathe most
powerless

it will be hard 4 me
2 not b
the boss
it is already
and we have only just begun

i am excited about the view
like a new kid on the first day of school
hoping they all like me
that i fit in
cuz there is nothing better
then being a cast member

access hollywood
asked if i was happy
star was gone
b4 i could reply he added
- i would have loved 2 c u 2 go at it
smiling

it would not have been fun for me
fighting everyday
life is 2 short

646. I think Rosie will be a welcome addition to the View. I stopped watching because of the Star Wedding fiasco, it was overwhelming and very irritating watching her get her "FREE" wedding. Besides that she was overbearing, obnoxious and never let the other hosts get a word in edgewise at times. Rosie although a self professed control freak will be an edge that the show is desperately needing. Not to mention the hilarity I'm expecting from watching her and Elizabeth match up on issues. The expected comedy from both Rosie and Joy will be quite entertaining too. I can't wait and will probably become a loyal View watcher.

647. Rosie has her own style. People need to stop comparing Rosie with Star or with any one else. ABC knows what Rosie is all about as does Barbara Walters. They know what they are dealing with and what to expect as does Rosie. If you don't like Rosie, then don't watch.

I personally always thought that Star was a snob. I went to the show twice and during commerical breaks, she acted as if the audience was more of a nuisance to her than the fans that they were. That to me spoke volumes. When Star started puting her wedding out there for all to see, she turned me off big time. In fact, I stopped watching until I knew she had gotten married because suddenly it was becoming the STAR VIEW show and not the show it was supposed to be. When she returned from her honeymoon and chastised her co-hosts for the "bad behavior" I thought she was an idiot. NO PICTURES!? She even told her own family no pictures... how can you deprived people of taking memories? That was so stupid, ridiculous and moronic. She was full of herself and I'm glad Joy did what she did.
When she called into the show about her not having almost died (after her breast lift surgery), I was laughing only because she thought she was still fooling people about her weight loss. She's an attorney. She did a play on words... she lost weight with medical intervention ...translation... she had GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERY... Pilates my booty!! I had been working out for years and never lost weight that quickly. All Star wanted was her fans to oooh and ahhhh her... and when she couldn't get out of the mess she put herself in, she then asked her audience on the Larry King show that she wanted time to absorb what was going on with her body before she spoke out.... Any one that has had this surgery knows you have to go through a lot before the surgery and after.... she's no dummy. She got caught and now she wanted to make it sound as if she was being made out to be the bad person.

Rosie is outspoken, always has, always will be. If she lasts a year..kudos to her.
ABC knew just what they were doing. Rosie knows what she's doing and all we need to do is sit, watch and wait. It'll be a new view... so take time to enjoy it.

655. People stop being so Homophobic.......there is so much hate in this world, people should not be judged by their sexual preference, but rather on the good they do for others, Rosie's Kids are proof of that..................sheesh!!

656. I think Rosie thinks about offending people too much.
She is a talented, warm, funny person and gay or not she is one of the most honest down to earth people I know...I think she should just be herself, dont worry about what others may think.
I think shes a true treasure and I hope she stays true to herself and just relaxes into her own skin...Rosie You Rock!

657. I am a conservative and I like Rosie. Everything is not always black and white in life. That said, I HATE the view, always have.
It seems to me to just be egotistical gab fest with whoever talks the loudest and the longest getting heard. I can not stand it when they all talk at once. ( which is most of the time)

659. Hi There Everyone!

Maybe the word 'everyone' doesn't apply anymore as I don't see anymore

postings on this subject of Rosie and The View! Still hoping that someone

links on and helps me out with how to get to Rosie's Blog. I'm really new at

this and the curiosity of what she has to say is driving me crazy!!!

There's always two sides to every story and from what I recall Rosie was the

'it girl' (hope I'm saying that correctly) and now everyone is all in an uproar

and against her. I just don't understand why and would like to know. I've read

the posts here and have one point of view but it's not fair for me to make a

judgment call if I don't see what she has to say. Anyone that can direct me on

how to get to her Blog - Thanks a lot!

660. It is so sad that the world has come to the kind of thinking I have read here. Tearing someone apart because of the way she looks and because she dares to say what she thinks. Please stop judging people because of the way they look or for their sexual preference. Rosie is a wonderful, brilliant, creative, talented, and extremely funny woman. What else do you need on a tv show. How brave she was to come out when it was so unacceptable. Start respecting and encouraging people for being honest and saying what they think. Stop being sooooo superficial.
