Tom Cruise Canned From Paramount

Tom Cruise has just gotten the heave ho from Paramount Pictures.

Tom Cruise

Sumner Redstone, chief honcho at Viacom, the parent company of Paramount, has ended the 14-year relationship with Cruise's production company, Cruise/Wagner Productions. According to The Wall Street Journal, Redstone cited Cruise's controversial conduct and behavior over the last year as the reason for the split.

Redstone reportedly believed Cruise's antics -- including his now infamous appearances on "Oprah" and "Today" -- had a negative impact on the bottom line for "Mission Impossible III." Redstone said, "As much as we like him personally, we thought it was wrong to renew his deal." Redstone told The Wall Street Journal: "His recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount."

Cruise/Wagner produced a string of hits for Paramount, including "Top Gun," "Mission Impossible" and "Days of Thunder."

UPDATE: Paula Wagner, Cruise's producing partner, responded angrily, claiming Redstone's comments were "outrageous and disrespectful." Wagner noted that her collaboration with Cruise has accounted for 15% of Paramount's theatrical revenues over the last decade. Wagner added that she and Cruise broke off negotiations with Paramount within the last few days. Finally, Wagner said her company has raised "a revolving fund of $100 million" from two hedge funds and that they will be making movies in the future.

46. FINALLY, someone let's this little fag with no cock know that his shit DOES stink. I have my Master's in Clinical Psychology, and anyone who denounces medication for someone suffering from a debilitating mental illness, who has no degree only alien communication, has to be taken off his pedestal.

I have never liked this midget or his movies.

I only hope his vitamin regimen works on Katie because that girl looks like she is seriously suffering.

47. Thank God. That is what happens to people who trust in a Man Made Religion.

48. #4 WAY TO GO!!!! I COULDN'T HAVE OUT IT BETTER MYSELF. Actors & Musicians should really learn to keep their mouths closed about certain things. You are not paid to voice your opinion. Although this is a free country, by voicing these extreme beliefs you lose fans and in Tom's case MONEY!!!

51. What I really hate is the "grammar and spelling" police. Trying to make themselves feel better by pointing out other peoples misuse of grammar on a freaking blog. Oh we’re all humbled by your presents.

You're on a site with people from 10 to 80+, you're going to get those that spend time composing their messages and those that just throw them together. It’s not a school paper you putts. If you're so offended by the postings go away! And here's a comment for you.

Shove your spelling comments firmly up your anus. How’s that, no curse words but it gets my message across. The same way “shove it up your ass(es)” does.

52. RE # 42 Well, I guess that explains why they try so hard to recruit rich and famous people.

53. Dear Sirs,

I have attempted to find a "hot tip" link but was unsuccessful. I am interested is selling a home video (approx. 4 1/2 minutes in length) "starring"' Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman and some of their close friends. The video was filmed in 1989 before Nicole became a household name. Around the time this was filmed, Nicole had recently met Tom and he offered her a role in his movie "Days of Thunder." In this video, Tom, Nicole and a few friends are dressed up in goofy costumes and are making a very funny "music video." Tom takes the lead role while Nicole dances like a turkey in the background. Not her finest moment. If you are interested in this video (1 complete song - "Kokomo") please contact me a.s.a.p. as I will be contacting other possibly interested parties.

Thank you,

Brenda

54. I can't wait for the movie "based on a true story" of this glib actors downfall.

You're glib, Tom, now you're just being glib. I've studied this Tom, I know the history, do you know the history?

Except for the miserable young girl trapped in a free country, it could be entertaining. And I agree, there is no Suri.

55. Tom has a history of his ego and holier than thou statements that he's uttered as the mouthpiece of his crackpot bs "religion". It's about time. His antics of jumping on the couch? nah, if someone is truly in love they glow and show it, these two just look crazy and excited ... there's no glow. He's crap and useless.

Helping others? Who? The only folks he's "allowed" to help are himself and his scientology brethen, by recruiting whoever and however need be. His good has ulterior motives, and he's too much of an intellectual midget to even comprehend that. His only voice is the one they give him.

Talented? You've got to be kidding me. He can read lines, but he's not talented. He's pretty and used to be personable. He's psychotic and it shows on his face. He's not marketable anymore, and that's all he is. And if he's not marketable to the studios, he'll lose his credibility and bankability with his puppeteers, and then he'll be left as another angry, confused buttwipe with no original thoughts.

His goofy handlers only view him for his marketability too. So Paramount was so incredibly right in so many ways; the phrasing in their statement is key. Keep in mind, that facade church of his is big and powerful and violent, so Paramount is affected too, and will be threatened.

I for one cannot WAIT for the response from TC's camp!

56. Tom, the short man, is now a "short-timer" at Paramount. He can't act on the stage, and as an actor ,he just reacted to the camera. Time-out for now.

57. YEAH! I hate him. I never want to hear his big fake laugh ever again. I hope he moves to Bahrain with Michael Jackson. They'd be a perfect couple.

58. #48...It's "putz" as in jerk not "putts" as in golf!!! You're as bad as the grammar police...

59. Well, after he lost his marbles, he has now lost his contract as well. The bit question here is, when is Katie (not Kate) going to lose him? She's killing her career BIG TIME! Someone needs to hide the elefant tranquilizer from dear Tom now so she can get with the program and leave his STUPID ASS!! I have never liked that pompous-show-off-bible-banger-wonna-be-has-been!!!!!!!!!!
