Depp and Bloom - Back in the Water

Click here to return to TMZ.comAfter cleaning up at the Teen Choice Awards, Captain Jack Sparrow and his band of pirates headed back to the Black Pearl after a summer hiatus from filming "Pirates of the Caribbean 3."

The cast of next year's sure-to-be box office hit are now back on the ship off the coast of Palos Verdes, Calif.

After filming wrapped for the day on Tuesday evening, Orlando Bloom made a quick escape by jumping in his car and heading out. While Johnny Depp, on the other hand, found time to say hi and take pictures with the dozens of fans waiting to see the actor through a chain link fence that borders the set.

It's pretty clear why Depp walked away with the two Choice Movie Actor awards on Sunday night in both the comedy and drama/action categories. On- and off the screen- Johnny seems to be everyone's favorite movie star.

33. Johnny Depp is a breath of fresh air in the the world of Hollywood and all it's stardom.

Thank you, Mr Depp for your honest style and please don't lose it.

34. I find it interesting that you will take the word of a GERMAN reporter who had difficulty translating the interview he conducted with Johnny and terribly misquoted him - over his OWN words that denounced the translation and reiterated his patriotism for his country. He has relatives serving in Iraq, for crying out loud! He DOES support the troops. He DOESN'T live in France and they haven't been able to spend much time at the villa there for more than two years. His primary residence is in the Bahamas, and he has several properties in the United States (locations I do not wish to violate his privacy by divulging.)

All of this aside, Johnny Depp is one of a handful of actors who really CAN act - in the same caliber as Brando, Bogart and Chaplin.

His willingness to spend time talking to fans and autographing pictures and stuff after a grueling day of filming just reveals his mother's good upbringing - a man with CLASS. A man who is grateful for what his fans have given him.

My mother once told me not to believe anything you read and only half of what you see. So stop believing those idiot tabloids who only print scandalous stuff to sell more magazines!!!

35. I would just like to say, since no one else has, I agree with many of Johnny's stated views on politics. He is very well read, well traveled, and deeply feeling. I wish more people were willing to give him credit for his experiences, look into the meaning of his words, and then make up their minds. America as we know it has not been around very long compared with most other countries in the world. Our youthfulness as a nation does affect how we treat other nations. *sigh* Whatever. Believe what you will. As for his residence, as if it's anyone's business, he's an actor in a committed relationship with a French native. He lives where he works and where he can find peace with his family.

Johnny, may you live long and prosper in peace and good health. You are an artist and a gentleman.

36. Johnny Depp is great and very gracious to his fans, if you want to see the boat in action it is down at the Redondo Beach Pier in Redondo Beach, they will be filming off the coast off the coast of Palos Verdes Peninsula as well.

38. Both Johnny and Orlando are cool guys. It's unbelievable how TMZ will try to make something that's not negative, negative. I've seen Orlando spend hours catering to the fans to the point where he practically had to be dragged away from them by his people. And this happens on a regular basis. To make it seem like he's the typical "I'll ignore the fans" celeb is appalling, but, again, typical of TMZ.

Both Johnny and Orlando are great actors and both carry their own. POTC:DMC was a great movie and people raved about the acting of Orlando and Johnny. In all honesty, POTC:COTBP was Johnny's film, but POTC:DMC was more Orlando's film than Johnny's. I think the more harsh negative comments about both Orlando and Johnny stem from pure envy, plain and simple.

39. BUT,

Why does this dude hate America. What he said was a direct assault on the American population in general.
"America is like a (broken) toy, THAT I want (MY) TO BE ABLE TO PLAY WITH."

This is not a political statment. This is his inference that America itself is in a "terrible" place. And that althouhg it may be good enough for you and your children; it is not However, good enough for his?

I bitterly oppose his views. Ithink America is great. John Depshit is nothing more than a "fancy boy" actor who is now stuck in a "one demisional Character". "savy"? Give me a break homo, your nothing more than a money grubbing whore, who has no respect for his country, and whos views of the "State" of the American people, is slanderouse and gregatious/ unwarrented, and completely wrong.

43. Well, I think this infatuation comes from the fact he picks an chooses very interesting roles. He's right when he says they need to reflect him in some small way. I couldn't see John John be "MR. SMITH" in 'Mr & Mrs. Smith. He's not an action hero. About that Politic/America thing, the Germans were the ones to have taken that quote and messed all around with it, so I wouldn't get all worked up over nothing. Alright you tell me if he did right by NOT taking these roles:

The Brothers Grimm
Depp was the first choice to play Will Grimm.
Actor who got the part: Matt Damon

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind
Mentioned as a possible star of director George Clooney's movie about Chuck Barris.
Actor who got the part: Sam Rockwell

Hulk
Considered to play Bruce Banner.

Indecent Proposal
Depp was considered for the lead role of David (Woody)
Actor who got the part: Woody Harrelson

Interview with the Vampire
Johnny Depp turned down the lead role of Lestat.
Actor who got the part: Tom Cruise

Legends of the Fall
Johnny Depp was considered to play Tristan.
Actor who got the part: Brad Pitt

Mars Attacks!
Depp was considered for the role of Jason Stone the reporter.
Actor who got the part: Michael J Fox

The Matrix
According to an interview with Matrix composer Don Davis, Johnny Depp was the Wachowskis' first choice for Neo.
Actor who got the part: Keanu Reeves

Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Depp was considered to play John Smith.
Actor who got the part: Brad Pitt

Signs
Depp was considered to star as Graham Hess.
Actor who got the part: Mel Gibson

Sin City
Had to pass on the role of Jackie Boy because of prior commitment.
Actor who got the part: Benicio Del Toro

Speed
Reportedly turned down the role of Jack.
Actor who got the part: Keanu Reeves

Considered for the roles of Lex Luthor and Jor-El.

44. Dingo Lunch and Judge are most likely the same person. Same writing format, same spelling typos, same jealous ranting rubbish. Stop hating and appreciate DIngo/Judge. Johnny is not anit-patriotic. He's hot, so accept it and move on.

45. I agree Dingo Lunch and Judge are the same person and he/she's obviously believe everything they read in the tabloids. I think the majority of readers on this blog are in agreement that Johnny's always himself, always genuine, which is rare these days.
