Beyoncé('s Dad) Responds To Petition

Over 6,600 Beyoncé enthusiasts have come together to sign a petition "for the advocacy of having Ms. Beyoncé Knowles, Columbia Records, Music World Entertainment, and all other entities associated with the creative process of creating the long-form music video known as 'Deja Vu' reshoot aforementioned video immediately."

If you think Miss Knowles has a problem when a couple thousand of her "Crazy in Love" loyalists sign a statement like "this video is an underwhelming representation of the talent and quality of previous music video projects of Ms. Knowles" then you don't know her father, co-founder of imanipulatemybeautifuldaughterformyownsuccess.com (along side of Joe Simpson), Matthew Knowles.

When Papa Knowles heard that the previously mentioned petition made national headlines, he did what any good irreverant celebrity father would do ... he put out an offical "statement".

"It is apparent that there is a consistent plan by some to create chaos around Beyoncés 'B'Day' album release on September 5 in the US. First, it was a petition against the single, 'Deja Vu,' then a rumor regarding conflict between Beyoncé and Rihanna, seizures caused by the 'Ring the Alarm' video, putting out a single to compete with LeToya's album and now to add to all the ridiculous rumors, is my plan to postpone the release of her 'B'Day' album. What will be next? Beyoncé's cut off all her hair? Dyed it green? Maybe she's singing the songs in reverse with some hidden subliminal message!"

What ?!? It gets worse ...

BEYONCE IS TALENT, AND A LOT OF PEOPLE IS JUST PLAIN JEALOUS OF HER, BECAUSE THEY CANT SHAKE THERE BOOTY, OR SING. THE GIRL CAN SING. I BEEN READING ON HER SINCE SHE WAS 6YRS OLD, WHAT HER TEACHERS SAID ABOUT HER. SHE IS THE ALSO THE 3RD YOUNGEST RICHEST BLACK FEMALE. THAT TELLS A LOT. FIRST COMES OPRAY, THEN HALLE BERRY, THEN BEYONCE. JUST READ FORTUNE 500 MAGAZINE, IF SOME OF YOU EVER READ INTELLIGENT BOOKS OR MAGAZINE. NO ONE DONT HAVE PERFECT CD'S ALL THE TIME. EVEN MICHAEL JACKSON WAS THE BEST. AND HE EVEN HAD SOME SONGS I DID NOT LIKE. AS FOR AS PETA. I WOULD OF TOLD THEM A THING OR TWO. THEY ONLY DO THAT TO SOMEONE WHO IS NICE. THAT WONT DO NOTHING BACK. OH BOY, I WISH I
WAS IN PETA CO. THAT WILL BE THE DAY. BEYONCE AND OTHER SINGERS WILL ALWAY HAVE A LOT OF HATERS OUT THERE. BUT THE SAYING GOES,
OPINIONS ARE LIKE BUTT HOLES, EVERYONE HAS ONE.
THANK YOU
CAROL

#24 I can understand the point you want to make but I still think most of the examples u using to buttress your argument do not hold water. First of, she's an R & B artist and the last time I checked R & B is not supposed to be about social issues. Maria Carey has been in the business longer and I don't think she started singing about social issues as she grew older (same can be said for Whitney & Janet Jackson). Now with Pink, does singing about the lifestyle of young socialites like Paris and co without living any examplery life make her any better. You will be better served by judging these artists by their deeds (how they help the needy) rather than their lyrics. If you want real concious lyrics listen to Bob Marley (apartheid and racial issues) and not Michael Jackson, Madonna, Beatles, and definitely not PINK. Remember Lauren Hill and the Refugee camp were influenced by Bob Marley and Reggae in general.

65. I really don't understand what Nico is talking about. This petition (even though I am not a part of it) has nothing to do with race. I raised a dancer, my daughter has danced most of her life. This has to do with the fact that the dancing and the costumes are ridiculus (sp.). To make this a race issue, all the black people that I know think she is a wonderful and multi talented artist. I have an appreciation for her and talents. Why is that when black people are criticized then it is a race issue? When white people are criticized it is about their talent. Nico all cultures embrace our music, style, food and clothing does that mean we should dislike rappers because they are liked by "whites, asians and hspanics".

66. First to get this out the way the video has grown on me. The best part for me was the African dancing. As for ring the alarm, like the song , not crazy about the video although i like the fact she or whoever direct the video took the idea from Basic Instinct. As for Beyonce herself i cannot presume to know who she is as a person although i would hope she is a good person being that God has blessed her with this platform of stardom. What bothers me is as an black woman, through beyonce, i am told that the only way i will succeed in the music industry is if i have a straight nose, wash and wear hair, and buttermilk skin. Beyonce cannot help what skin color she was born with or hair texture, but it is pretty evident that with all her talent it didn't hurt her that she is light skinned, marketable and complacent. The only two true R&B singers that came along and could never be replaced were Lauryn and Aaliyah. Lauryn wasn't afraid to talk about social issues while making u dance but she lost her mind. And Aaliyah wasnt afraid to sing about love and heartache and dance at the same time. Two different singers who were personable and not about glitz and glamour. But what do i know, Beyonce has the music, the movies, the clothing line, the family and the guy. She must be doing something right

67. Amen #15!!! Not that I agree with PETA at all, but she talks about empowering women and getting an all girl band to empower women etc etc, but she can't even speak for herself. Honestly, though, in light of her comments about Lauyrn Hill, she might want to keep her mouth shut. She sounded kinda bad on LH.

68. #52.... You are dead on it!! I have thought the same thing. I am 34 and I love music and I used to really like Beyonce, but I don't see the growth in her music. She does not inspire anyone to see their world differently. She sounds like a chickenhead with lots of money. Just listen to the lyrics of Ring the Alarm. Now, I can identify with the lyrics to a point, but really, when you are worth what she is worth financially, why put yourself behind that message? i know women that had way more and way less and said, " The hell with this! SHe can have the house, the car, the stones.. .. the man....I'm out." If she wants to empower people, make a song about, even though you cheated, I'm staying, because I'm committed even when you aren't. That's real empowerment. I don't like the messages she is sending to her young female fans that she is "supposed" to be empowering. I just don't see the growth.....

69. #48... Important social issues.. "Independent women" and "survivor".. .what world are you living in? Can you say... AIDS, war, famine, Katrina? Independent Women and survivor deal with self esteem ( though not completely) and do that in a almost arrogant way... I don't know... what planet are you on?

70. Well, we disagree agree on many points #53.First, I consider Beyonce and Mariah R&B inspired pop artists. And you don't know your music because Mariah has sang about issues other than her man and her body for example, the song she and whitney made together and the song that she and Boyz to Men made together. Janet's Rythm nation album spoke of children suffering in third world countries as well. Even Avril Levine made a song about runaway teens. And I won't even entertain the thought of comparing Whitney and Beyonce, that would be an insult to Whitney.
As far as judging Pink for her lifestyle... what the hell do you know about Pink's personal life? Pink is not manufactured and packaged like Beyonce. Pink actually has a point of view. And beyonce may have a point of view but she doesn't want to step on any toes or alienate her fans, so she won't lose money ( so she says nothing). In 2000 she sang at George Bushes inauguration. Did she not have the concious to think about the role he plays in disenfranchising the poor black communitites. You say she was involved in hurricane Katrina efforts, well guess who was responsible for that?
Trurh be told, Beyonce is a corporate chosen human product that is being bought and sold, left and right. And what about her image? Who does that serve? What is wrong with wearing your own hair once in a while? And if she wears a wig because styling wreaks havoc on her natural hair, why does it always have to be blonde and stringing? Why can't her wigs be coarse like her natural hair? Why did she need a nose job? Yes, she had a rhinoplasty, you can see the indents in her nostrils. If you want to talk about image, in truth Beyonce has the same issues Michael has, but to a much lesser degree.
I think it boils down to ones relatability to the artist. I personally cannot relate to Beyonces "brand". I want to inspired to do something other than look in the mirror followed by hanging out with my boyfriend.

71. #59 I think we are on different levels regarding this argument or debate. I think u are more of a hater than an analyst. I believe more than 90% of American women at one point used fake hair so what's ur problem. Hope u find a reason to highlight positives in people rather than try hard to magnify the negatives. All the best with ur boyfriend.

72. People shouldn't be concerned with Bouncey's, err Beyonce's videos (they are alright), people should be concerned that the modern day Ashford and Simpson that is Beyonce and Jay-Z won't stop making duets!!! I mean, we all know that you are in love. There's only so many ways to say it and it's really played out.

73. What in God's name was wrong with her video?? TELL ME ONE THING THAT WAS INAPPROPRIATE ABOUT HER VIDEO!!

First of all, I want to point out that every person that signed that STUPID petition is a middle-aged/overwieght mother!! Beyonce WILL NOT reshoot her video because you tell her to. Shut your time wasting mouths!!

GO TELL 50 CENT TO RESHOOT HIS VIDEOS, K? If you're going to start pointing out whats appropriate and what's not, go take a look at all of the videos that have young girls shaking their asses at the camera, while being called BITCHES, HOES, SLUTS, SLAVES, you name it, they are called it!

So do us a favor middle-aged/overwieght mothers, GO PETITION THINGS THAT REALLY MATTER!

74. "What will be next? Beyoncé's cut off all her hair? Dyed it green?"

this is a little absurd and all. Her right. Even tho one would dye their hair, THEN cut it. Unless its some sort of satanic ritual.

Plus everybody knows she wouldnt cut her hair. Its a weave. She gets it from all of RuPauls old leftovers. Old hair and wigs. No cutting going on there.
