Clay Aiken Goes "A Thousand Different Ways"

Clay AikenWhile many in the media have focused on Clay Aiken's off stage activities, Clay has been busy in the recording studio and TMZ has the new single from his upcoming record for you. The record, which will be his third release, is called "A Thousand Different Ways" and hits stores September 19th. The record will feature 4 brand new songs by Clay and 10 cover versions of well-known songs from the '70s, '80s and '90s, personally picked by Clay for the project.

Clay recently explained the record's title. "This is an album of love songs," says Clay, "but they are about all different kinds of love. Romantic love, Friendship, Unconditional love. There are a thousand different kinds of love; a thousand different ways to tell someone you love them. And, on top of that, since so many of these songs are covers, it's realistic to say that many of them have been or could be sung a thousand different ways."

63. Always amazing when the non-fans seem to appear to talk about Clay being lifeless and having no feel for music. All I can say is go elsewhere. Obviously your taste in music doesn't run the same as those who love a beautiful voice that knows how to interpret music. Run on over to the screamers and pop tarts if that's what you prefer. As to his private life, it is just that--private. Has no bearing on his music. Plus I tend to think the person involved knows a little more about their private life and preferences than people who just love to rag or speculate. He says he is straight and doesn't do what the liars say, so I tend to believe him--after all, he knows more that we do about what he does or what he likes or who. It just seems that it helps some people with their agenda though to keep the lies out there in plain site all the time. Trust me, it won't help your favorite do any better in life or the music world.

Clay Aiken will be just fine with his music, his sales, and the impression he makes on people in the industry who really know what good music is about. For the others--who cares what they think. This CD will be appreciated by lots of people. Doesn't negate who sang the songs in the past--just says that Clay can also do an awesome version that a lot of people will love.

64. The way that Clay sings this song is so incredible. This is the best version I have ever heard. Nobody has a voice that can compare to Clay's and he definitely knocked this one out of the park. It just gave me chills.

65. Fan or not you have to admit this is a super singer and song. Those of who Love Clay can't wait for the whole cd.The snippets are just a tease but a great one. I have been a fan since the first time I saw him and will always be.

66. The voice is unique and powerful in so many ways. I'll wait til I hear the whole songs before judging this CD. I didn't like the short teaser of Without You that much--I'd have to say I agree with another poster who said he didn't seem to be connecting to the song. But hearing the entire song changed my mind. Unreal. Totally took me by surprise and absolutely KILLED it! So listening to the snippets of the other tracks has me doing the same thing...appreciating the art and craft of this amazing singer and looking forward to hearing they ways he'll make these "old, tired" songs new and uniquely Clay. AND I can't WAIT to hear all of "Lonely No More"!

68. This is sooo exciting, that we're finally going to be getting a new CD from Mr. Aiken. It seems like forever to us card-core fans, when in reality it has been less than two years since MCWL.

Now I just have to get through the next 30 days without caving into the desire to listen to all the song snippets. I made the mistake of doing that with MOAM (in fact, had all the songs memorized before I even purchased the album) and it took a lot of the fun out of finally owning the CD.

Patience, patience!!

69. Awww....I love Badfinger's rendition of Without You. They were an awesome band.

I also love Clay Aiken's version of Without You. He is an awesome singer.

I think it's great that someone with a voice as magnificent as Clay's is redoing this classic for a new generation.

71. clay is alright, but he will never touch the wonderful voice of bing crosby.

72. One of the most horrific renditions of a cover I have ever had the displeasure of listening to. I want my time back. It was so devoid of emotion it was unreal. And what's with the phrasing and the karoeke music. UGH!

73. Forget the comments about Clay's personal life. There's no truth to the BS that goofball/sleazeball started. He's obsessed with Clay and is a nutcase. Clay will not dignify the guy's existence and has "big shoulders" and ignores all of this crap. Unless you're talking about the lady trying to sue Clay and his mom for saying they didn't know her - a lady writing a book about him saying they were close. Don't know what you're even referring to. But YOU don't need to keep talking about something so OLD NEWS. Clay recently said he has put up with salacious comments because he somehow feels it comes with the job. I think that clears it up nicely, even though it's really sad. But all we care about now is the great music that going to come from that new CD. I've heard snippits. It's great. Clay rocks on this all-love song CD. He's got the best voice on the planet. Will be a huge hit.
