Redstone's Wife to Cruise -- "You're A Putz!"

Tom Cruise clearly displeased Viacom Chairman Sumner Redstone enough to get himself axed this week, but he evidently also committed one of the biggest cardinal sins for any employee: He pissed off the boss' wife.

Paula Fortunato, Redstone's wife, was "incensed" by one of Cruise's rants, and told her honcho husband that she was boycotting Cruise's product forever.

Indeed, as Page Six notes, one of Redstone's justifications for severing ties with the Scientology-obsessed star was that his behavior had alienated female fans. One of those fans who wouldn't come back, apparently, was Fortunato, a former school teacher almost 40 years Redstone's junior who married the mogul in 2003. She was outraged by Cruise's inexplicable digs at Brooke Shields, and told her husband that she would never "see another Tom Cruise movie again!"

A Viacom spokesman says, "It is true that Mrs. Redstone disagrees with Tom Cruise's views, but she and Mr. Redstone see every Paramount film."

Macy Tells Lohan: "You Can't Show Up Late!"

William H. Macy has some tough love for freckled phenom Lindsay Lohan regarding her recent spate of tardiness: "It's very very disrespectful." But he says that Tom Cruise, whatever else he may have done, isn't late to set.

Macy told reporters at a junket yesterday that lateness on a film set is pretty much unforgiveable: "There is not an apology big enough in the world to have to make 150 scramble ... It's nothing but disrespect." But to be fair, Macy said that Lohan "is not the only one. A lot of actors show up late as if they're God's gift to the film. It's inexcusable, and they should have their asses kicked." Macy worked with Lohan on the upcoming film "Bobby," and said that she was "pretty late" getting to the set.

Macy also expressed consternation about Lohan and her young cohorts who get rich and famous in their teens: "I worry about these young kids – 15, 18, 20 years old – who in the span of one year become millionaires and powerhouses. It's too much power for a kid that age to handle."

Angelina Avoids Dad Voight at Party

When Angelina Jolie learned that her estranged father, Jon Voight, was at a party she was about to enter, she waited for a half-hour in her car with her baby's daddy Brad Pitt until he left. According to Page Six, the actress went with Pitt to a birthday party for Pitt's "Ocean's Twelve" co-star Scott Caan, and wouldn't go in until Voight, who said on television back in 2002 that his daughter needed help for her "mental problems,' leading to their estrangement, left. Pitt eventually ambled in, whereupon Voight left, allowing Angie to enter through a back door.

Evans Seethes Over "Entourage" Caricature

Art may have skewered life a little too mockingly for one of Hollywood's legendary producers. Longtime Tinseltown legend Bob Evans was recently referenced on an episode of HBO's "Entourage," in the form of a washed-up, slightly sad character by the name of "Bob Ryan," played by Martin Landau.

Now, reports Ben Widdicombe, Evans is "furious" about the portrayal and especially so because he allowed the show to his own house as the set for the episode. The show's producers wanted Evans to appear on the show, but he declined. And Landau's rendition of "Bob Ryan," which pretty much everyone who watched the show identified as an analog of Evans (despite HBO's denials that there's a connection), made the character out to be a doddering old man who's lost more than a few marbles.

Goodie Bag: Tokyo Relents on Britney Poster, McConaughey Shuns Brunette, Cronkite Records Voiceover for Couric

Just a day after saying it would censor the Britney Spears Harper's Bazaar's cover on its walls, the Tokyo subway authority said it will allow the ad to appear without any concealment. Officials say they understand now the picture was meant to be of a happy mother, and not sexually explicit ... Matthew McConaughey had an unwelcome visitor in his car in Miami Beach the other night – a young woman followed him out of a club, and got into a car with him. Thirty seconds later, she was kicked to the curb, says Ben Widdicombe, and Matt drove off with Lance Armstrong and a blond lady friend ... Walter Cronkite, the eminence grise of CBS News, has recorded the voiceover for the opening of the new "CBS Evening News " with Katie Couric. Though the opening has been used in rehearsals, there's no word on whether it'll be in the final broadcast.

Why kill the fatted calf..Tom has made more money for Hollywood than almost anyone except Lukas and Spielberg..Now that Hollywood is going lean due to crappy movies..the only thing to look forward to is a Tom Cruise movie..When ever has he failed to entertain..and isn't that we pay for..who cares what he believes in..No different that Paris and her self worship etc. Tom owns 5 airlplanes. One, a P-51 ..and that baby is hard to fly..you have to have Balls to do it..

50. Note to Katie Holmes: Katie, did you ever wonder why you might become the third Mrs. Cruise. Have you thought about what happened to Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman. Take my advise honey, there are three sides to every story, his, hers and the right one. Look what happened to Nicole. He has the kids, filling their minds with a sudo religion.

I don't know if you or him do drugs, drink or whatever, but besides Elizabeth Taylor, Tom Cruise will wind up with more wives than Liz.

We can only hope he comes out of the closet real soon.

Listen to your parents, they will not steer you wrong. Take that baby and run far far away.

52. Tom Cruise may likely have some form of Bipolar Disorder, on the manic side. If he were to take a mood stabilizer (like Lithium) then he'd loose the edge that gives him the extra boost of energy that causes him to stand out in Hollywood. Understandable, yes. The grandious thinking & irritability he exhibits is one of the unfortunate aspects of "mania" - the high energy or "up side" in manic depression. It's about time someone calls him on his behavior and causes "King Tut" to be held accountable for his actions. He's been acting like a self-righteous, spoiled, "know-it-all" jerk and has been commenting on highly complex issues that he knows little about. He might be a very nice person who is simply undiagnosed and very ill. It's a sad reality that the rich and famous are left unconfronted due to their fame and fortune. Viacom Chairman Sumner Redstone is one of the few people in a position with nothing to loose - he put Cruise in his place and he did so appropriately. Hopefully, Katie and the new baby will help Tom understand that his mood swings are not normal and that he needs some help.

53. From what I've read about Sumner Redstone and his wife I wouldn't exactly call them the poster kids of normal behavior. Actually Mrs Redstone (40 years younger than her RICH OLD husband) rather reminds me of a homely Anna Nicole Smith.

54. #29, I could not agree with you more!!! I really do not care about Brooke Shields I care about me and as a woman who has had kids and experienced a slight form of ppd. Tom Cruise is full of crap, and yes he has every right to believe what he wants but do not go on national tv and act all holier than thou, attempting to make millions of women feel guilty about something he will NEVER experience. PPD was just recently recognized as an actual disorder and in one interview he was attempting to discredit all of the progress that has been made.

I am quite sure he will make more $million movies but while he is out promoting them he should stick to promoting movies and stay out of women's wombs.

55. Redstones wife is running things? Maybe the old guy needs to step down. Tom Cruise hasn't done anything wrong. It's the media types and the very strange people in the blog world that keep this whole Cruise bashing thing going. I saw the Oprah show and it seemed to me (and the audience) that they were just having fun. At worst he was a little overly enthusiastic about his romance with Holmes. So what? And maybe the world is taking too many psychotropic drugs. He's not the only one who things that's not a good thing. I don't think his comments about Brooke Shields were a personal attack. Saying that she probably wasn't qualified to write a book advocating drug therapy was not an attack. Boooke Shields husband said on TV that they wouldn't get a book out of the second child. They were just looking for a pay check. How cynical is that? S.

56. I'm not a Tom Cruise fan by any means. I've enjoyed a few of his movies and I think he has the potential to be one of the greatest actors of his generation. I think the media has a tendency to try and knock people down, and unfortunately for Tom they went after him with everything that they've had.

I also think that Hollywood wasn't ready for the in your face honesty that Tom displayed. It's strange how the public, especially the media embraced a couple like Brad and Angelina, and trashed a couple like Tom and Katie. Lets remember that Brad was a married man before he hooked up with Angelina..have people forgotten about her kissing her brother as if he were her lover?

Tom was DIVORCED when he hooked up with Katie, I just think Tom got a raw deal and we haven't seen his best work yet..I truly believe there's an Oscar in Tom's future.

57. Sumner Redstone can join the list of other septa and octagenarian multimillionaires who are bitter because their influence and wealth cannot buy the one thing that they want the most----youth and vitality. Proof: Redstone's latest wife is 40 years his junior! Need I spell out that the old man was flexing the one muscle he has left by firing Tom Cruise. He's a jealous curmudgeon who is trying to peel away the years by acting like a young child who is envious of one of his peers. Kudos to Cruise (and his antics) who was driven into a private world of his own making by gawkers and papparazzi. By some peoples' standards Cruise may seem odd or inappropriate but I applaud his heart-felt joy and spontaneity.

58. Okay, so Tom Cruise is a "Celebrity". A "Star". A "multimillionaire". Okay, so what, but why can't he act like a NORMAL celebrity?? You don't see George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp or anyone in the same catagory jumping on furniture, hiding kids, confining their significant other, or acting like a complete know it all. I used to completely adore Tom Cruise, but now I just think he is some kind of Freak-a-zoid. You gotta kind of laugh too that anyone could think that Scientology is a "religion". For gods sake, some fiction writer started that. Just such a WEIRD thing.

59. Sumner Redstone is simply a very astute businessman.
He knows that a majority of the movie-going public, including his own wife,
have come to see Tom Cruise as some kind of unbalanced, ill-behaved nut job, who loves to tell everyone how he knows the "truth" about everything.

By the way, it was Paramount and the writers and directors who actually made all those movies. Tom Cruise only acted (so-to-speak) in them.

Redstone knows full well that there are a thousand younger, more attractive, and more skilled actors who could become the "next big thing" -- and who wouldn't carry all the detrimental baggage of Mr. Cruise.

Tom should count his many blessings, shut his mouth, and disappear from the public eye. Hey Tom, retirement is great - please try it.

60. THERE ARE ACTORS AND ACTRESSES WHO ARE DRUG ABUSERS, ALCOHOLICS AND WORSE. CELEBRITIES OFTEN GIVE THEIR POLITICAL OPINIONS PUBLICALLY AND THEIR OPINIONS ON EVERYTHING ELSE THEY WANT TO ON AWARDS SHOWS ETC. SHOULDN'S WE BOYCOTT EVERYONE WE DO NOT AGREE WITH INSTEAD OF JUST GOING TO THE MOVIE TO BE ENTERTAINED. TOM CRUISE IS AN ACTOR, WHO CARES WHAT HIS VIEWS ON ANYTHING ARE. IF YOU ENJOY HIS MOVIES GO TO THEM IF NOT DON'T. HE CERTAINLY MADE MONEY FOR THE BIG COMPANIES DIDN'T HE?
