Redstone's Wife to Cruise -- "You're A Putz!"

Tom Cruise clearly displeased Viacom Chairman Sumner Redstone enough to get himself axed this week, but he evidently also committed one of the biggest cardinal sins for any employee: He pissed off the boss' wife.

Paula Fortunato, Redstone's wife, was "incensed" by one of Cruise's rants, and told her honcho husband that she was boycotting Cruise's product forever.

Indeed, as Page Six notes, one of Redstone's justifications for severing ties with the Scientology-obsessed star was that his behavior had alienated female fans. One of those fans who wouldn't come back, apparently, was Fortunato, a former school teacher almost 40 years Redstone's junior who married the mogul in 2003. She was outraged by Cruise's inexplicable digs at Brooke Shields, and told her husband that she would never "see another Tom Cruise movie again!"

A Viacom spokesman says, "It is true that Mrs. Redstone disagrees with Tom Cruise's views, but she and Mr. Redstone see every Paramount film."

Macy Tells Lohan: "You Can't Show Up Late!"

William H. Macy has some tough love for freckled phenom Lindsay Lohan regarding her recent spate of tardiness: "It's very very disrespectful." But he says that Tom Cruise, whatever else he may have done, isn't late to set.

Macy told reporters at a junket yesterday that lateness on a film set is pretty much unforgiveable: "There is not an apology big enough in the world to have to make 150 scramble ... It's nothing but disrespect." But to be fair, Macy said that Lohan "is not the only one. A lot of actors show up late as if they're God's gift to the film. It's inexcusable, and they should have their asses kicked." Macy worked with Lohan on the upcoming film "Bobby," and said that she was "pretty late" getting to the set.

Macy also expressed consternation about Lohan and her young cohorts who get rich and famous in their teens: "I worry about these young kids – 15, 18, 20 years old – who in the span of one year become millionaires and powerhouses. It's too much power for a kid that age to handle."

Angelina Avoids Dad Voight at Party

When Angelina Jolie learned that her estranged father, Jon Voight, was at a party she was about to enter, she waited for a half-hour in her car with her baby's daddy Brad Pitt until he left. According to Page Six, the actress went with Pitt to a birthday party for Pitt's "Ocean's Twelve" co-star Scott Caan, and wouldn't go in until Voight, who said on television back in 2002 that his daughter needed help for her "mental problems,' leading to their estrangement, left. Pitt eventually ambled in, whereupon Voight left, allowing Angie to enter through a back door.

Evans Seethes Over "Entourage" Caricature

Art may have skewered life a little too mockingly for one of Hollywood's legendary producers. Longtime Tinseltown legend Bob Evans was recently referenced on an episode of HBO's "Entourage," in the form of a washed-up, slightly sad character by the name of "Bob Ryan," played by Martin Landau.

Now, reports Ben Widdicombe, Evans is "furious" about the portrayal and especially so because he allowed the show to his own house as the set for the episode. The show's producers wanted Evans to appear on the show, but he declined. And Landau's rendition of "Bob Ryan," which pretty much everyone who watched the show identified as an analog of Evans (despite HBO's denials that there's a connection), made the character out to be a doddering old man who's lost more than a few marbles.

Goodie Bag: Tokyo Relents on Britney Poster, McConaughey Shuns Brunette, Cronkite Records Voiceover for Couric

Just a day after saying it would censor the Britney Spears Harper's Bazaar's cover on its walls, the Tokyo subway authority said it will allow the ad to appear without any concealment. Officials say they understand now the picture was meant to be of a happy mother, and not sexually explicit ... Matthew McConaughey had an unwelcome visitor in his car in Miami Beach the other night – a young woman followed him out of a club, and got into a car with him. Thirty seconds later, she was kicked to the curb, says Ben Widdicombe, and Matt drove off with Lance Armstrong and a blond lady friend ... Walter Cronkite, the eminence grise of CBS News, has recorded the voiceover for the opening of the new "CBS Evening News " with Katie Couric. Though the opening has been used in rehearsals, there's no word on whether it'll be in the final broadcast.

61. Tom Cruise has turned into a real nut case. Even Michael Jackson refrained from telling other people how to live their lives! Tom Cruise needs a good evaluation by a psychiatrist and some heavy duty psych. meds. Katie needs to heed the advice of battered women's shelters.. hide an overnight bag, an extra set of car keys, some cash, diapers and identification... all for a quick get-a-way.. just in case you need them!

62. OK, #56 while I agree that everyone's opinion is valid whether I like it or not, the fact that this man, whom I am sure has a THRONG of women followers, went on national television and stated in no uncertain terms that Brooke Shields was irresponsible for seeking medical treatment for her PPD symptoms shows that he has NO CLUE. Did Mr. Cruise ever hear of Andrea Yates? How many people do you think actually believed what he had to say? I bet there are more than you would believe. HIS actions were irresponsible. While you and I might be able to think for ourselves and realize that he was just being an all knowing A$$hole, there are people out there that literally live and breathe by what some celebrities say.

Whether they like it or not, celebrities have to be cognizant of their words and actions because they are role models to some people out there. Their words and actions could have monumental consequences in someone's life. Are they entitled to their opinion? Of course they are, but in their very public roles they have to be very careful HOW they state their opinions.

63. HELLO IN RESPONSE TO NUB.47 COMMENTS I'M THINKING THAT MAYBE TOM CRUISE WAS THINKING ABOUT WHAT WOULD BE ANOTHER SOLUTION TO MISS SHEILDS DEPRESSION, MAYBE A NATURAL SOLUTION, VS. MAN MADE DRUGS, THAT HAVE ON MANY OCCASIONS CAUSED PEOPLE TO HARM THEMSELVES,OR EVEN THE CHILD, LISTEN " BROOKE SHEILDS " IS A "NATIONAL TREASURE" AND A WONDERFUL ACTRESS, AND IF THERE WAS A "NATURAL SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM, I THINK TOM WAS TRYING TO ARTICULATE THAT! VS. YOU SEE THE ADS FROM LAWYERS ALL THE TIME ON TV SUEING FOR DAMAGES DUE TO PRESCRIBED DRUGS. THIS IS THE TYPE OF HARM TO MISS SHEILDS TOM WAS TRYING TO HELP HER AVOID. SO I DONT SEE A PROBLEM WITH THAT ! AND AS FAR AS MONEY IS CONCERENED TOM CRUISE HAS MADE PARAMOUNT MORE MONEY THAN IN ITS ENTIRE HISTORY, BUT ITS ABOUT RESPECT, AND YOU CANT PUT A PRICE TAG ON THAT, NOT IN HOLLYWOOD!! 66. I'm Not a big fan of Tom Cruise but I have enjoyed watching some of the films that Tom has starred in. It should NOT matter what religion he is associated with. Who cares? So what if he declares his love for Katie while couch jumping?
AND IF he disagrees with what Brooke Shields has to say about post partum depression...WHO CARES? TOM CRUISE IS AN ACTOR! He is Not a person in a professional field (doctor, lawyer, politician etc.) Everyone talks on these sites like he's some sort of politician and having these high standards that he should uphold. He is a person with faults, NOT perfect. So let us stop casting stones at him. He hasn't harmed anyone.
I just want these gossip sites to stop with the Tom Cruise bashing. He has never harmed anyone. No one has ever accused Cruise of hurting them. So PLEASE, give this guy a break! Enough said...

67. Post partum depression has led to much despair for mother and children, so I am not sure I would want to take time out to try the natural route. Think of the child! I think Tom butted in where he was NOT needed and on national tv--yet!
he actually looked drugged himself that day.

On the other hand, I will probably still see his movies if he makes a good one. That is the the big question in Hollywood now. It seems that the studio produced movies are terrible and the Independent small films are the ones worth seeing. I am sure there is much about this Paramount decision that is secret. Perrhaps Tom wanted such a large slice of hte pie they had a parting of hte ways. Who cares, I don't...the crtics all said Pirates #2 was stupid but look at all the money it made. I didn't even bother.

Tom will stick to what he knows (action or mystery) and then get into producing and directing. That is what they all do when the career starts to slide. Look at Mel. He doesn't have to act in anything anymore to make money.

70. well this can be expected when you fire a real and seasoned PR manager and hire your sister to do the job.

71. "56. I'm not a Tom Cruise fan by any means. I've enjoyed a few of his movies and I think he has the potential to be one of the greatest actors of his generation. I think the media has a tendency to try and knock people down, and unfortunately for Tom they went after him with everything that they've had.

I also think that Hollywood wasn't ready for the in your face honesty that Tom displayed. It's strange how the public, especially the media embraced a couple like Brad and Angelina, and trashed a couple like Tom and Katie. Lets remember that Brad was a married man before he hooked up with Angelina..have people forgotten about her kissing her brother as if he were her lover?

Tom was DIVORCED when he hooked up with Katie, I just think Tom got a raw deal and we haven't seen his best work yet..I truly believe there's an Oscar in Tom's future."

72. I read these comments and realize that sexism is alive and well in this country. I never really doubted it, however here, under the cover of anonymity in the comments section, it rears it's sad, ugly head. I seriously doubt that this Paramount guy made his decision solely on what his wife felt about Tom Cruise. I am QUITE certain that since the man is a MULTI-MILLIONAIRE he probably has his own opinions and backs them up on a regular basis. That said, there is nothing wrong with a man considering or listening to his wife's opinion. I fail to see how communicating with your wife makes a man "weak" or a "pussy", as one commenter so eloquently put it. No wonder the divorce rate in this country is so high. If men really have so little respect for their wives that they wouldn't even bother to listen to what she had to say...there's just no chance of a marriage lasting. It's very sad to see.

73. Tom Cruise RULEZZZZZZZZ. So people don't believe or agree with his opinion, that doesn't mean he is bad or should be hated. The wife and OLDIE husband can go to hell for all i care. They don't have a right to malign this guy reputation and question his behavior. Whatever he does in private life is none of thier business. The way they talk and malign this guy(Tom Crusie) speaks about their behavior, class and sense of jealousy. the old husband and golddigger wife, this is your starting point going downhill. The golddigger wife is jealous becauze Tom is banging Katie and not her.

74. Ron L. Hubbard had the same drugs in his system when he died that he says aren't needed. The baby lives with a Scientologist nanny. They don't take care of their own kids, brainwashing begins at birth, although they do visit them from time to time. katie looks exhausted from the 12+ hour sessions she participates in to learn the levels of Scientology. Tom talks about this stupid cult to recruit people. They are supposed to recruit. Read all about it at Clambake.org. There are tons of material to read about, but its crazy. Read "The Road to Xenu" written by a woman who tells the tale of her Scientology experience. Scary!!! Read the stories of "tax free child abuse". It's sick and discusting what these people are willing to let their children go through. These people isolate themselves from family and friends. They don't want to hear anything about them being in a cult. The children go to Scientology run schools, and spent most of the time learning Scientology lessons. They only have Scientology friends. Isabella and Connor are in danger. So is Suri. The sad part is that they are only children and don't know better, or can't do anything about it.

75. Remember that when you buy tickets to his movies, you are donating $$ to the Scientology freaks.
