NBC to Air "The Real Wedding Crashers"

Ashton KutcherLast year's hit film "Wedding Crashers" will become a reality series as NBC announced its new show, "The Real Wedding Crashers," inspired by the movie. Ashton Kutcher will serve as one of the show's executive producers.

The show will feature hidden cameras that will record improvisational actors who go undercover at real weddings to bring an added element of surprise to the traditional proceedings.

"Everyone loved 'Wedding Crashers' and we wanted to see if we could capture that same kind of inspired frivolity in a real-life series," Craig Plestis, Senior Vice President of Alternative Programs and Development at NBC, said. "Working with Ashton and knowing his memorable experiences with the jokes he pulled off on 'Punk'd' made it that much more enticing. This series has a big upside potential for hidden-camera humor."

Six episodes have been ordered, with no premiere date set.

1. I would be PISSED if someone turned my wedding into some reality prank! I wonder how many people will sue?

2. I would love to know if the bride and or groom will be in on the joke. Some of us take our marriage vows seriously and will be taken aback by this program. It will be interesting to see what they have in mind. The lawyers must be going nuts thinking of what could go wrong. I am a big fan of Ashton and hope that all goes well.

3. this has train wreck written all over it. If they end ruining people's weddings and making complete a**es out of themselves, NBC will pay for it for a long time. Just when I thought NBC had turned the corner (The Office, My Name is Earl). they come up with this crap.

4. This is a bad idea. Too much money and planning goes in to the big day. And if those bastards come in and ruin it, someone's gonna get their butt kicked pretty hard. Not to mention a lawsuit or two. And if Ashton is so keen to the idea of breaking his stereo typed image for bigger and better movies, I am sure this won't do lots of good for him.

5. If the bride and groom were in on it from the beginning it would be funny. I dont think that they would ruin anyones real wedding.

IF the groom was "crashing" whatever you wanna call it without the wifes knowledge I know if I was the bride I would walk away single.

I have asked around my office. NO one finds it funny.

I would sue...

6. I'm sorry, but this isn't funny (even though people will tune in just because the idea is so completely outrageous). NOW, people are going to have to hire security guards to check IDs to keep copycat idiots out of their weddings. I think legislators should create laws NOW against trespassing at formal functions where people are not invited. This is bulls**t. It's not fair to the wedding couple or their families.

Nothing is freaking sacred in America anymore. Everything is a made-for-TV "joke."

7. Two more things:

1. If celebrities like Kutcher think crashing something like this is "cool," then I don't want to hear another celebrity whine over their "privacy" (which I typically think they are entitled to for family-oriented events like marriage, divorce, children, etc.). How long did he and Demi hide their wedding plans/baby plans?

2. The couples whose weddings are "crashed" ought to get PAID, and I'm not talking small change. Weddings are horrifyingly painstaking to plan, and the anxiety factor is very high for all-involved. To have one of the most important days of your life "crashed," by uninvited cameras...either the network had better be prepared to pay, get sued or get their asses kicked and all parties wind up in jail!

8. It's a good idea. I want to see some 60 year old, father of the bride, kick Ashton's p*ssy ass! It would be great for ratings and everyone would come back for more. Hope there's more than 6 episodes.

9. People, turn off the TV. Turn off the computer. Spend time with your loved ones and enjoy your own reality. Life is precious. The world is going to allow Iran to get a Nuke and they will use it. First it's Israel, then it's us. Terrorists are streaming across the border and living in your town, waiting for orders. Liberals are more concerned with terrorist's rights than keeping your family safe. Fight, apathy, ignorance, and Islamofacism. Pray for our nation!

10. If one of these idiots showed up at my wedding I would sue everybody.

Demi better move cause it's my bed now!!!

11. I finally got to check the movie out with my son last night (we got it free from the library) I fell asleep on it. It was wayyyyy overrated. Anyway, I think I will pass on the tv show

12. First of all....uh....Dan. This is TMZ.COM...not exactly a place for a political statement and your comment had nothing to do with the topic. Perhaps you should find another comments section on another website more suited to your particular commentary. Second...I would only HOPE that the bride and groom are in on it...because I agree with the first comment, I would be PISSED if someone turned my wedding into a joke without my consent. People spend a lot of money and time and emotion into making the perfect wedding and then some punk comes along and "crashes" it? I don't think so. NOT TO MENTION the fact that it's just a dumb idea all together. When will Hollywood learn that big screen to small screen stuff is ALWAYS hoaky?

13. I sincerely wish Ashton Kutcher the worst in life. I just got married a year ago and if for one second I saw something going on like that and he or anyone else was behind it I would have had around 250 ready to beat his a**. After reading this and seeing how he thinks it would be funny, I wish him suffering and public humiliation for the rest of his piece of s*** life. You suck. Your movies suck. And Your ideas are wastes of time being soaked up by a**holes in suits who think you're funny because you scream every now and then and pull pranks on people. You're an asshole and I hope you crash your car. Good day.

14. 1st of all...uh....missy, I agree with Dan and I think it's very topical.
This stuff is mindless. Who cares what Hollywood is spewing out. It's all mindless, to keep you on the couch watching commercials...oblivious to what's going on in the world. They appeal to the lowest common denominator in entertainment....shoveling sh*t into our brains day after day until we are consuming, anti-everything, amoral, zombies. Just the way Hollywood wants us!
