Piven to Billy -- You're "Bush" League

Click to return to TMZ.comSometimes Billy Bush just doesn't know when to quit -- and last night on the Emmy red carpet, Jeremy Piven lashed out at him for it. Last night, during the red-carpet prelude to the Emmys, "Access Hollywood's" Bush corralled "Entourage's" Piven, and began a line of questioning concerning celebrity babies. Piven had just flown in from Arizona, where he was shooting a movie with Jennifer Garner, and so Bush asked him about Garner's baby Violet.

Bush then asked Piven if, given that Piven lives in Malibu, whether he had laid eyes on Brangelina's baby Shiloh. Piven said he hadn't, explaining that he had "116 other things to do...I don't go hunting for celebrity babies, thank you, Billy."

"You need another job. You have potential as a human being..."

Undeterred, or clearly not getting the message, Bush then asked if he'd seen Suri Cruise. Piven finally lost his patience. "You need another job. You have potential as a human being," said Piven, not at all hiding his irritation. "This may not be right for you. Seriously -- can you focus on other things?"

At least Bush got one thing right. He predicted -- correctly -- that Jeremy Piven would get his statuette, and Piven did, for his role as Ari Gold.

16. billy sure got upset when terri seymour kissed him, whatever that chick's name is , the one from desperate housewives. I'd be upset too, she's a hot mess!

Then, i do think celebrities should have some time off. I mean, snapping photos of them in public should only go so far.

17. I like them both and thought that they were both playing...

I think it is odd that the general public and the media find celebrity babies so exciting. What are they famous for? They've accomplished nothing. Some of the celebrity spouses are in the media waaaay too much also.

18. Celebrities want privacy? The devil in hell wants ice water too, but that doesn't mean he gets it!

20. I'm on Jeremy's side on this one. Those were really stupid questions. Billy Bush is an idiot.

21. #10 I agree with you. Can the people move on from asking these baby questions. Had that have been me I would have walked away. Billy was asking stupid questions all night long. I was also disappointed in Nancy Dell. Her interview with Annett Benning was stupid. If you don't have anything to say don't ask them stupid things.

22. Good on him! NBC showed absolutely no class last night in the pre-interviews. They even asked John Voigt about Angelina, right in front of his other daughter.

23. I thought most of the questions posed on the red carpet were idiotic. Everyone seemed awkward. And the interviewers were talking over each other, missing cues and then asking really stupid questions. Isn't it enough that the celebrity baby talk is on every freaking magazine? They're babies...woohoo! Over it. Jeremy Piven wasn't mean. I would have been annoyed with the rapid succession of baby questions. Let's talk about his work on "Entourage" or something relevant. If he were to say, "Yeah I have seen baby Violet" would that change anyone's life? No..it would be a dead end answer to a stupid question.

25. All those Red Carpet interviwers are completely unprofessional. They try to outdo themselves by asking stupid questions.

26. The Pivs is a great actor....he did win didn't he??? Billy needs to "polish up on his interviewing skills." Why would he assume that Jeremy has seen Suri or Shiloh? Just because he's an actor/celebrity doesn't meen that he's hanging at Brad and Angelina's place!?!? And who cares??? Billy Bush is such an annoying reporter! UGH!

27. I think what Jeremy said is hilarious. It was as if Billy wasn't even listening to Jeremy's answers and was looking around the whole time....and why would he keep asking him if he saw those celebrity babies? Its a totally random thing to ask...he should be asking about Entourage...not celebrity babies.

28. Billy Bush is Red Carpet parsley.....the stuff you scrape off of your plate in order to enjoy your meal. What ignorant fool calls him an "interviewer?" He has the same job that Stuttering John had: Make celebs feel uncomfortable enough that they give him what he wants to hear. Who the hell cares who's seen whose baby?!? You're at an awards show.......can't think of anything better to discuss? He does need another job. Maybe one with cue cards. Jeremy Piven rocks. So no other actors have made crappy movies?!? Come on. These Red Carpet Parasites should understand that in "coralling" celebs, they're fair game!

29. At first I thought it was ok for Piven to react that way to the ridiculous questions the interviewer was asking. But the more I read about this guy, the more I see that he's pretty much rude and obnoxious in most interview situations.

30. "but you should not embarrass a reporter in public like that."

LOL...calling Billy Bush a "reporter" sullies the good name of journalism.

Go Jeremy! It's about time someone called out the entertainment media for its over-the-top fascination with celebrity babies.
