Rosie Drops Some Pre-"View" Details

Just days before her debut on "The View," Rosie O'Donnell is dropping some details about her new gig on her ever-active blog at rosie.com. Among other things, we learn that she's taking Meredith Vieira's dressing room, that ABC is already prepping her for what she can and cannot say, and what her take on the whole did-Meredith-really-say-that fracas is.

In her latest blog entries, expressed in her customary haiku-ish shorthand, Rosie says that she recently met with the network's standards-and-practices people, the folks who make sure nothing untoward comes out of her -- and or any of the other "View"-ers' -- mouths. According to Rosie, "They told me all the stuff I know/still made me panic/a little." She adds that she's only cursed once in six years on live TV.

Then, in response to a question from a fan, who asked her why Meredith Vieira would "diss" her former show and Barbara Walters (which, it turns out, she didn't), Rosie clears it up: "She did not diss barbara/everybody breathe." Finally, Rosie reveals that she won't run the risk of absorbing of any of Star Jones' bad karma, as she'll be putting up shop in Meredith's old dressing room at "The View."

408. I wish everyone would just leave Rosie alone. Rosie will bring a lot of humor and fun to the show. Whereas, Star was only interested in what she could do for herself. Rosie and Star both have their faults, but let's get over it already.

Just wish each other well and move on. I am a 9/11 survivor and I know first hand that life is too short to quibble over nonsense.

Good Luck to everyone!

409. Ya know...I don't understand WHY people who hate Rosie so much bother reading articles about her???? Just so you can write hateful remarks? Why does it matter what a persons sexual preference, weight, or hairlength have to do with that persons character? I like Rosie, can't wait to have her join The View. I think Rosie and Joy together will add a ton of laughs on the show. And before anyone can comment...I am happily married w/kids, NOT THAT IT MATTERS.
People stop being haters...we have enough problems on this earth to complain about...!!!!

410. I don't care if Rosie is heavy, that doesn't make her a bad person. The reason I personally dislike the woman is she is so mouthy and has no compassion towards anyone that doesn't share her opinion. She's loud, brash, and hypocritical. Too bad the View chose her to take Star's place (which I didn't care for THAT diva either) But the View turned down several woman that would have been an asset to their show. But I guess Barbara Walters is trying to get the gays to tune in and increase their audience that way. Too bad, I won't watch it for sure now. I quit quit watching the View after Star started all her wedding crap!! What a load of crap that was.

411. Not sure why everyone has to dis on Rosie, she really isnt a bad person,
so what shes not 120 lbs, but she has a heart and soul same as everyone else. I think people need to see past their own faults.

412. I loved Rosie when she had her own show. I am sure she will be an interesting addition to the show. Being gay or overweight does not make you a bad person. Grow up!

413. To Post 334, Patrick Douglas

The majority of child molesters are heterosexuals. The majority of child abusers are heterosexuals. Because someone is a homosexual does not make them a child molester.

415. Wow, i knew the world was judgemental but most of you are just ignorant!!!!!!! It's ridiculous to think that because she is overweight and gay that she cant do her job or that she isnt a nice person....i bet all of you "haters" have at least one overweight person in your family--probably your mama!!!!!!!!!!!!!! People like you dont have enough things in your lives to keep you occuppied...So, how about you go look in the mirror and lay off the "Haterade"

416. People are cruel. Rosie had a terrific show and helped so many people. Give her a break. Who cares if she is a lesbian. Get real

417. I believe that Rosies big mouth will get her into trouble. Folks will tire of it really quick. In my opinion the View will go downhill FAST.

418. I can not believe what I'm reading on here. Is this a childs message board? I don't like it when children talk like this about people. Such name calling. I try to teach my children better then that. I hope the ones that have posted calling Rosie names and saying hateful things about her don't have children yourself, if you do I sure would hate to see how they behave. Shame on you all.

419. Is that all you people have to talk about "over weight People" why because she is big,so is half of the world over weight. So that doesn't give us the right to call her fat or Meredith a slut because she didn't wear underwear. That 's whats wrong with this country care more about looks then performance. So lets stop judging people by there looks. Thats so childest and hurtful to talk about someone like that no matter how they look or what they are.

420. I'm in agreement with most of the posters here in that Mr. O'Donnell was the worse choice to put on The View, an already lethargic show. As for the Rosie sympathizers that feel that she is being unfairly judged because of her weight and sexual preference, I argue that she is unliked for other reasons. Let me run down her offenses:
*She indirectly lied to the public during the days of her own show by pretending to be in love with Tom Cruise
*She also lied by adopting the moniker "Queen of Nice"
*As soon as she admitted her sexual preference to the public (after she had gained enough money from her show) she became a bitter person almost overnight
*She sank a magazine (Used to be McCall's magazine but she renamed it Rosie following in the footsteps of Oprah).
*She told one of her employees at said magazine that she deserved breast cancer
*She sank an off Broadway play starring Boy George and lost him as a friend
*She made disparinging comments about: Oprah, Michael Jackson, Boy George, Star Jones and a list of others.
*Last but not least, She is a hypocrit that doesn't deserve for the general viewing public to support her antics.
