Rosie Drops Some Pre-"View" Details

Just days before her debut on "The View," Rosie O'Donnell is dropping some details about her new gig on her ever-active blog at rosie.com. Among other things, we learn that she's taking Meredith Vieira's dressing room, that ABC is already prepping her for what she can and cannot say, and what her take on the whole did-Meredith-really-say-that fracas is.

In her latest blog entries, expressed in her customary haiku-ish shorthand, Rosie says that she recently met with the network's standards-and-practices people, the folks who make sure nothing untoward comes out of her -- and or any of the other "View"-ers' -- mouths. According to Rosie, "They told me all the stuff I know/still made me panic/a little." She adds that she's only cursed once in six years on live TV.

Then, in response to a question from a fan, who asked her why Meredith Vieira would "diss" her former show and Barbara Walters (which, it turns out, she didn't), Rosie clears it up: "She did not diss barbara/everybody breathe." Finally, Rosie reveals that she won't run the risk of absorbing of any of Star Jones' bad karma, as she'll be putting up shop in Meredith's old dressing room at "The View."

46. Trust me, what Star Jones did, she did to herself. Pimping herself out for the wedding and making all those promises to the people who gave her stuff, that was just wrong. And about Star Jones losing weight, why didn't she come clean about having the gastric bypass and admit that it was surgery and NOT exercise that was the main reason for her weight loss. She didn't lie but she did mislead people.

The View has been headed downhill for a long time, so I see Rosie as a welcome change. She will keep the pace moving (something Barbara does NOT understand...she is so slow she makes me cringe whenever she's on now) AND she argues quit intelligently by backing her statements up with facts, something Elizabeth never does. Liz just follows the Republican mnatra no matter what, spitting out their crud word for word. I hope Rosie takes her out the first day!

47. Stop being so rude to Rosie. I use to watch her show all the time and loved it. She does speak her mind and that is a good thing. Also, her personal life has nothing to do with how she will co-host the View. I think she will be an asset to the show and put some life back into it.

50. I will not watch the show once Rosie comes on, and it is not because of her weight, it is because she is a loud mouthed obnoxious Bitch.

53. Rosie is wonderful. She has a big heart, she is honest, colorful and very intellegent. I think that is what intimidates the "Rosie Bashers". She is going to bring a whole new "View" to the show. GO ROSIE !!!

55. why is everyone dissing rosie, everyone loved her when she was the queen of nice, well now that she has finally let her hair down and she doesn't agree with everyone you all rerfer to her as a cow, shame on you people. so she is a big girl ,so what , if she was as thin as a rail would you make fun of her eating disorder. Why don't you all just give her a chance. Then make your decision. And as far as her being gay, so what, why would she put the moves on hasselbeck, thats dumb, when she has a partner at home who takes care of her family. Shame on all of you

56. Okay, I don't like Rosie either, but enough about her weight. Star Jones was twice as big until she had the gastric bypass surgery she won't admit to.

57. This show is SO OVER!! I think it was great when it started, but they've about exhausted all topics, and without Star and Meredith, who's left to watch? I certainly don't want to see ROSIE! Who cares?? I'd rather watch Rachael Ray.

60. I loved the Rosie O'Donnell show and since the ratings were so good, it is a pretty good assumption that a lot of other people did too. Star Jones got on my nerves. I am glad she is gone. Good Luck Rosie! I don't care about your sexual preference or your weight. I will check out the "View" again, although I haven't seen it in years, just to see how Rosie does. BTW, I am a heterosexual grandmother, and it is so wrong to judge people. And that comes from the bible for all of you who are calling names and cursing while calling yourselves Christians.
