Nick and Jessica: Caught in the Crossfire

Jessica's free car: Click to watchNick Lachey and Jessica Simpson had a near-miss confrontation at MTV's VMA swag suite, the Style Villa, on Thursday.

As part of the endless barrage of gifts awarded to the already rich and famous, celebs were given car keys in a promotion to give away a Chrysler Crossfire. If their key started the engine, the black convertible was all theirs.

First Lachey tried his luck at winning the sports car, but came up empty-handed.

Just ten minutes after Nick's losing turn, Jessica arrived with her key in hand. Jess posed for photos with her fingers crossed and made her attempt at winning the car. This time luck was on her side as Simpson's key started the luxury automobile.

Surprised by her win, a coarse-voiced Jessica said "I'm kinda shocked. I'm shaking a little bit."

Why worry about about famine and war, when the world can sleep easier knowing Jessica Simpson has a brand new convertible to valet at The Ivy.

18. This is for RIVER RAT POST # 11. Chrysler has no resale value at all. When you drive one of those cars off the lot it goes down in price immediately. You would be better off with a BMW, a Cooper or V.W. Something that retains it value just a little. Do your research. It is a piece of sh*t. My donkey gets good gas milage. So What !! 24. Unfriggenbelievable! After all of the celebs there ,she won it. It could have been Nick ,Beyonce, Christina Augluiera or one of the Pussycats Dolls.
After taxes, she 'll probably give it to her staff or donate it for a tax write off to as a company car in JS Inc.

29. It really make me mad that the people who can afford to go and out and buy these kinds of gifts get them given to them. What about the people who really need a car and can't even afford one. I am sure that Jessica has more than enough cars and looks at this cross fire as pathic compared to her other rides. It just makes me sick

I am so sick of this whole Simpson Family, Nick you deserve someone as beautiful and smart as Venessa, best of luck to you in this relationship, Venessa can actually think and speak at the same time, What a beautiful couple, When I watched the Newlyweds, I could not believe how lazy and stupid this Jessica was, and it seemed that her Family was always there, and then Joe gets a reality show for Ashley! This Trailor Trash Family need to just go away! That way Joe can keep talking about those Boobs, how sick is this Family. Nick consider yourself lucky.
