VMAs rock NY: Click to launch galleryThe biggest names in music rocked Radio City Hall in New York last night for the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards. While some critics have already panned the show as one of the worst in years, you can't blame the stars.

A leather clad Beyoncé rocked the house with her new single "Ring The Alarm," Shakira gyrated all over the place in belly dancing garb and Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz even brought a monkey to the red carpet.

62. The show was great..I just finished watching it on the website and overall i give it a 9 not perfect because there where a few performances that where awful. but overall all the new hits where performed...all shows can't be perfect, and not every1 will be pleased with the outcome ..

63. OMG, I could not believe how bad the awards were. Total lack of effort it seems. I atually dozzed off at some points. Could you believe how long some of the award speeches were? For example, the Pussy Cat Dolls. I felt like I was watching a bad episode of MTVS making the band. Don't get me wrong..they earned it, but taking like 10 mins is a lot of time. Overall this award show was not as good as last years in Miami. Im out. Peace www.fetishlists.com

I think da vma's were boring...Jack black was corny..But dey had sum real good performances....Justin timberlakes, beyonce, shakira, christina aguilera, panic at da disco..N everyone needs to stop criticising beyonce.... U NEEd some hatorade....Cuz da grl is talented, and im sure she can giv a damn about what u all gotta say.

68. Lou Reed was the best part of the show. For those of you who don't know who Lou Reed is, grab a copy of the Velvet Underground and Nico and learn.

I agree, while I normally find Jack Black's brand of humor funny, he was off that night. However, how can you blame him? He's a classic rock guy. It must have been difficult getting excited about some of the acts on the show.

69. Sorry to tell some of you talkin bout the gangsta vma's but hip hop is taking over, thats why they were presenting so many awards & you were seeing all the bling. MTV is trying to contest w/the BET awards but you still gotta give some awards to the rock bands so you don't lose the white audience too, Beyonce' was hot like always as was Luda & Pharrell, I thought the bling on 50 & LL was hot. Yeah I agree that Jack Black wasnt a good host, guess they should got Diddy too

70. Who were most of these people? I have never heard of them. They take who ever is playing that week and give them them the award. What about Brook Hogan? Or Nelly F. ? They picked people That don't play on my station!! The show use to be such fun and full of suppries now its a dud.

71. I thought that Jack Black was horrible! The show didn't flow either. I think that last year in Miami was the best ever. It is kind of hard to top that. However Beyonce and Justin was wonderful!

72. If I wanted soft porn, I'd have gone to the internet. These so called entertainers are nothing short of pathetic screams of insecurities. Worst of them is having watched Papa Joe transform Jess from class to trash! Money truly is the root of all evil.

OOP's THEY DID IT AGAIN! they once again have put the VMA's in FILM mode! a "special process" used by the MTV tech department in past awards shows (except the "movie awards" which was NOT live, but a pre-recorded broadcast ) and THIS awards show is supposed to be a live broadcast do us a favor MTV, and make it look like one , and NOT like a MOVIE again for next years VMA's! save that filmlike "special process" for next year's MOVIE AWARDS not the VMA"S ever again! this time it's "movielike" look, really stinks!

74. BEYONCE'S PERFORMANCE WAS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!! I THINK SHE IS TRYING WAY TO HARD AND THAT OUTFIT IS ABSOLUTELY AWEFUL!!!! SHE NEEDS TO CLOSE HER LEGS AN I THINK THE SONG SUCKED AS WELL..
