Celeb Mom Blunders -- Who's the Worst

Drug busts, legal wars and countless displays of nudity. Foreign incidents to some, just another average week for some famous Hollywood moms. But in a world of questionable parental decision-making, which celebrity could use a class in motherhood? TMZ tackles that burning question.

Anna Nicole Smith: She's got a bun in the oven, but Anna is no novice -- she's been a mother since 1987. Her son, Daniel, has endured his fair share of family drama with Anna. First, she was an exotic dancer, then a Playboy Playmate, she married a wrinkly oil tycoon 62 years her senior, and then entered a seemingly never-ending court battle over a vast fortune. If that wasn't enough, Daniel also put up with Anna's reality show on the E! channel, where her "odd" behavior, we think, must have left this seemingly well-adjusted kid wondering, "Why me?"

Britney Spears: The former sex symbol has had a difficult time transitioning into motherhood. The pop tart has become the posterchild for how not to transport your newborn, after a series of incidents that landed her on the radar of Child Services, though the agency found no wrongdoing on Brit's part. She's driven with her son on her lap, almost dropped the kid while walking in New York, and she's been caught on tape driving her convertible Mini with Sean facing forward. Britney is taking safety far more seriously these days, especially with the impending birth of her second child. The "Oops" star was recently spotted dropping -- no, not the baby -- $1,500 on child safety products at Babies "R" Us. Way to go Britney.

Courtney Love: Being the child of one the most important musical artists is hard enough, but being Courtney Love's kid -- wow. From her marriage to Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain to her latest legal problems, Courtney's life has been, well, interesting. All the while, her daughter, Frances Bean, has been in the eye of the storm. A 1992 Vanity Fair article quotes Love talking about her alleged heroin use during the first few months of her pregnancy. That got the attention of Child Services and Francis was removed from the home for a short time.

After the suicide of Cobain, Courtney seemed to straighten up, even glamming it up for a few years. But everything came crashing down in October, 2003, when she lost custody of Frances Bean yet again. While Child Protective Services did not release an official reason, we can only speculate that it had to do with Love's ongoing drug problems and regular appearances in criminal court. Love regained custody of Frances in January 2005. Lets hope for both their sakes Courtney can pull it together.

76. tripping over cats makes you stupid? well damn thats new to me! didnt think having a kitten run through your legs getting your attention made you dumb. multi tasking is part of being a mommy. so yes i tripped over the kitten while holding my daughter. i didnt drop her, the cat was in my way, we kinda did a little dance with eachother. accidents happen! my friends baby was about 4 months give or take and she fell outta the carseat b/c she rocked it right off of the kitchen table. luckily no injuries, not even a bruise, probably b/c the baby was all bundeled up since it was in the middle of december. between cats, the baby,a dog, and all their toys im always having close calls around the hosue. so for people to say they never lost their balance, they are so full of it. everyone does at one point or another, regardless if their is a baby in your arms. and forget it when my daughter is throwing a fit, she throws her whole body back when shes in a mood while screaming. ive actaully stepped out of line at stores if she pulls that b/c its hard to hold her while trying to swipe a credit card and such. so ya accidents happen, and now that shes learning how to walk im sure they will continue to happen. the dog knocked her over the other day while she was holding herself up. woops! im confident to say social services won't be knocking on my door. there's a major difference between an accident and beating your child

77. #72 - yet more PERFECT examples of how "almost dropping", or GOD forbid "dropping" your child, does in fact happen to great, attentive and loving parents!

78. I wish everyone would quit swearing - it's offensive and stupid and it makes you all seem like little kids. As for the moms, I think that Britney is not a good mom. Sure, there are cameras around her and sure, she was pregnant when she tripped but still, she's made some bad choices and lots of stars do - I think most stars are superficial and don't deserve to be parents (MOST, not all).
Anna and Courtney are much worse than Britney and are really, REALLY bad moms. In my opinion they aren't in it for the kids, just the sex.

79. #73...it happens to us all at one time or another! i wish i had nannies and bodyguards helping me out, holding my stuff so if my daughter is in a mood i can still do my errands, but im on my own.....well except for today her grandmother (THANKGOD!) has her for the day.

81. I think they should just leave britney alone. No one starts out perfect and almost everyone has dropped or almost dropped theyre kid. The way I see it atleast she is taking care of her son and not a nanny!!

82. I have twins that turn 2 years old next week. They're a handful alright but I have NEVER dropped either of them on their head. That’s lazy and/or stupid. Trying to justify dropping your baby? Good luck with that one.

83. How about moms like Dina Lohan or Drew Barrymores mom, or even Lynne Spears???
They have ALL let their young daughters grow up in clubs, Drew was clubbing and doing drugs at age 11.... Lynne is such a stage mom w/ Brit and Jamie...her marriage fell apart real quick.....

84. oh yah... I have 4 kids...and have NEVER dropped any of them----

85. Yay Yay Yay Hooray for all of you that have never "dropped" your kids you think that automatically makes you better parents gimme a break... I have never dropped my kids like I said before .... I have tripped and almost fell "me and baby"... but never dropped them ..either way its an accident... It was just once that Britney did it its not like shes constantly trippin and fallin with her kid ...at least she takes care of her own i havent seen an article in any magazine yet of britney without sean since she gave birth... thats the first step to bein a good mother LOVE she loves that baby and she shows it by not leavin him with a nanny or even with kevin and she is always holdin him even when she drives (that wasnt a good choice but she learned from that)... she wants him with her always wherever she goes that shows that hes not neglected and so what there were about a hundred people swarmin around her and cameras flashin in her face (not to mention the bright ass sun) and she tripped big wow so what sean is okay thats all that matters hes a beautiful happy baby and i think that should be what everybody notices .....

ok now another question why wasnt katie and tom mentioned?? i think they are neglecting their baby .... not by keeping her from paparazzi but just the fact that they are always out without suri even at six hour dinners ( i couldnt sit down that long and enjoy myself with someone else takin care of my baby) ... that poor kid is gonna lead a sheltered life and she probably doesnt know who tom and katie are...

AND WHAT ABOUT MICHAEL JACKSON ......

86. I'm not a big fan of Britney, Courtney or Anna but I think putting Britney in the same category as Anna Nicole and Courtney Love for any reason is stupid. Britney made a few mistakes but let's face it, she's not a horrible mother. Tabloids and press just love the drama of making her seem like one.

87. some of you people are actually trying to defend yourselves because "everyone" drops their baby at some point??? then you get down on those that tell you they've not dropped their babies?? strange group. but keep them coming. it's hilarious to read how you drop your babies and then brag about it like it’s all normal. if i was an unborn child and had the chance to choose i would want to have one of the women on this post that don’t drop their babies me my mother. thanks

88. # 2 is wrong, wrong, wrong. I am a first time mother of a 1 year old daughter and I myself have 'almost' dropped her. I recommend waiting a little more than two months into being a Mom to suggest you are perfect. Maybe you should pick up Parents magazine or go to the website, click on "Mommy Mistakes." Trust me, you'll be there with the rest of us before too long. And by the way, I waited for my daughter for over 7 years and I consider myself to best an absolutly great Mom!!!

89. The only reason that the Moms who can say that they haven't 'almost' dropped their child yet is because they haven't slipped yet. How many people out there can say that they will never, ever slip again for the rest of their child-carring days. Not one of you. Just what I thought.

90. I am not a fan with Britney, but come on, give this woman a break. She could have tripped on something, and yes it is very possible that a woman can fall while holding a baby. Accidents happen no matter how careful you are.
